Was his a pedicure from a beautician or a pediatrist?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 14/05/2016 20:20

Or Edward Scissorhands?!

Tell me you didn't pay and you saw the blade come out of a packet??

WellErrr · 14/05/2016 20:23

That's awful! Not sure it's A&E worthy......but was the blade sterile?

CocktailQueen · 14/05/2016 20:29

What did the beautician say??? That looks awful.

Take a photo send it to her - or better still the store's manager - ask for your money back, complain and contact any association the company is with (association of beauty therapists?).

She should have used a foot file. Not a fecking blade!! OMG. I'd be asking if the blade was sterile too.

anotherdayanothersquabble · 14/05/2016 20:32

That is horrific!!!

But... You can clean a wound yourself assuming the blood flow has slowed.

The risk of tetanus is minimal, tetanus only grows in the absence of oxygen and this wound is neither deep nor oxygen starved.

Get to a pharmacy and get some saline solution to clean it, butterfly stitches to close the wound if you need to and have a glass of wine.

Dear god, what on earth was she doing????

Lndnmummy · 14/05/2016 20:34

Sorry I havent responded to everyone. It was one of those potato peeler things, in hindsight probably not sterile. I am gutted, I had been looking forward to this weekend so much.

She should not have used a blade I have now been told, I just didnt know. Lesson learned. Nurse has told me I will need a tetanus jab. I am not a crybaby normally bit I am so gutted. In pain and just so disapointed.

Ouchy!

monkeywithacowface · 14/05/2016 20:56

Christ alive! You poor thing. A beautician has no business trying to remove dry skin with any form of blade! Podiatrist only for that kind of thing.

Lndnmummy · 14/05/2016 20:56

She said "ooops sorry"

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 14/05/2016 20:57

Ouch!
You really look like you have three legs in your pic though Smile

Chippednailvarnishing · 14/05/2016 20:58

That is shocking!

After A&E your next stop should be a personal injury solicitor.

Berthatydfil · 14/05/2016 20:58

I would contact trading standards in Monday

MardleBum · 14/05/2016 21:05

Good God, that is horrific. You need to get plenty of photos of that and go to trading standards. I can't begin to imagine how that could possibly have happened in the hands of someone properly trained and qualified. She must have gouged really deeply or repeatedly for that to have happened.

Don't want to alarm you but if you don't remember seeing the blade and tools coming out of a sterlised packet then you might want to enquire with your GP about getting checked for hepatitis.

Can you get back there and have a look to see whether they are using newly sterilised kit for each client without warning them they are about to be reported? Maybe take some photos?

Ihatechoosingnames · 14/05/2016 21:07

I'd be going to a solicitor next tbh OP. You poor thing Flowers

Oh ldn so glad you've been seen.

I would go further with this, if only to prevent someone else from going through this.

MimsyBorogroves · 14/05/2016 21:31

Bloody hell, that looks sore. I'm not one to scream legal advice, but I'd certainly look at getting that place reported for some sort of health and safety breach at the very least.

Savagebeauty · 14/05/2016 21:34

Dear god.
Complain like hell
Get the cowboy fuckers closed down.

HappinessLivesHere · 14/05/2016 21:36

I'd bloody oops sorry her!! Hope you're ok, no doubt the disappointment is as bad as your wound.

amysmummy12345 · 14/05/2016 21:36

That's awful, first things first, get to a&e. Next stop see if the therapist has relevant qualifications and if need be for you, public liability insurance.

Lndnmummy · 14/05/2016 22:40

Thank you so much everyone, i will get over it, but it is rubbish. I will do what I can to make sure noone gets injured again in that salon. The tools were not sterile, and she put the injured foot back in the bucket with the water that wasnt sterile. I didnt know at this point how bad it was.

It is all a mess. I am back at my friends house (great fun guest I have been) and am having some wine to relax after a pretty rubbish day.

WriteforFun1 · 14/05/2016 22:45

Total cowboy, please report. Hope you are pain free soon.

Adarajames · 14/05/2016 23:27

I think a&e is really not necessary, just clean it up well and bandage it and it'll be fine. I've done this to myself quite a few times, yes it bleeds a lot and it stings like hell to start with, but I clean it up with tea tree in water, stick some calendula on and bandage, it's sore for a couple days but fine after that. Id only worry if got hot and inflamed for more than a couple of days and continued to get worse

notapizzaeater · 14/05/2016 23:30

Did they know they'd done it ? Looks agony :-(

Adarajames · 14/05/2016 23:31

Alth to be fair I know I've only used the blades on myself do isnt the worry of them not being sterile in same way, but it is a very minor risk and surely they change blades / sterilise between treatments? If not, that's what if be angry about more than the injury which is accidental
