Am after inspiration!

Would like:
-Flat or slight heel (prefer flat)
-Comfortable slightly padded sole ( so many sandals have solid hard thin sole which I find v uncomfortable)
-not grannyish

I have looked at saltwater which I quite like it can't decide if they are grannyish or not and everyone round here seems to wear them. Might have to resort though if can't find anything!

I have shiny purple saltwaters. Find them very comfortable

lostlalaloopsy · 07/05/2016 10:20

I've got red Saltwaters - i love them. They are comfy and I always get so many compliments on them. I was thinking of treating myself to another pair this year!

Cocochops · 07/05/2016 21:44

Looks like saltwaters are popular! I am quite tempted by the yellow ones. Any other recommendations?

i find saltwaters are very thin and unpadded - I do get sore heels after pounding pavements for hours...

MirandaWest · 07/05/2016 22:01

I walked round New York in mine and we did lots of walking. Found them more comfortable than other more walking sandals I had

Ceilinglight · 07/05/2016 22:04

Toms are very comfortable but start to smell after a while (or is it just me??!!)

This year I'm just going to wear haviannas because I can't be bothered looking for leather sandals. They have straps round the ankles so they don't make a flip flop noise, and they're a gold-brown colour so they don't scream tropical beach. And I can sweat to my heart's content and there's no smell , phew!!

seven201 · 07/05/2016 22:08

I really like white stuff sandals. I'm trying to resist buying any this year as I just don't need any!

tethersend · 07/05/2016 22:16

I recommend these every year- spongy, comfy and not hideous.

feelingmiffed · 07/05/2016 23:04

I've bought these

ladybird69 · 07/05/2016 23:08

I've got really wide feet feeling miffed are they standard feet or wide?

phoolani · 07/05/2016 23:43

I got these today www.frenchconnection.com/product/woman-collections-shoes-and-boots/sffcq/jaclyn-flat-leather-sandals.htm?clr=000000
Am currently in love with them.

LanaorAna1 · 07/05/2016 23:45

There's something truly head-in-oven about the phrase 'summer sandal for over-40s'.

But after a glum but silently frenzied search through every shoe in the UK, I like Geox designs, some of which could pass for Whistles, and saltwater ( in metallic or neon to rule out any sniff of old bird).

DorotheaHomeAlone · 07/05/2016 23:51

I bought these and love them. They're a bit saltwaterish but cheaper and very comfy with a sturdy enough sole. I have them in blue. m.houseoffraser.co.uk/Steve+Madden+Dublin+cross+strap+flat+sandals/232989208,default,pd.html

thatorchidmoment · 07/05/2016 23:58

Totally love my tan saltwaters, and I don't think they are grannyish. I've had various compliments and bought some for my sister who loves them. She is in late 20s and I just turned 29 again Grin

tipsytrifle · 08/05/2016 00:09

I really like feelingmiffed's sandals. Where are they from? Link?

NewYearSameMe · 08/05/2016 00:13

I just bought these because I like wearing toe-loop sandals.

boobyooby · 08/05/2016 00:14

Soooooo - After last years success with the comfiest ever flip flops by ugg, splashed out and bought ugg sandals!! First wear today, walked 6kms and they are super duper comfy too

TheFairyCaravan · 08/05/2016 00:22

I bought these but my legs were far too skinny for the ankle strap. I was really disappointed because they were not as clumpy as they look and the sole was padded and so comfy.

I'm now waiting on the delivery of these.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 08/05/2016 00:22

I really like those feelingmiffed ones too. Where are they from please?

Ceilinglight · 08/05/2016 00:30

Tethersend those are lovely

sammy891 · 08/05/2016 00:39

I think feelingmiffed's sandals are from Fly London.
