5 day capsule wardrobe for Italian city break - please help!

I am being whisked away for a birthday trip with my husband in early June. I will have no kids and am unbelievably excited but also incredibly unprepared and short on time. I have 2 pre-school children, work full time, live in a cold part of the U.K. and haven't been abroad in over a decade, so nothing I own fits the bill Confused I am reasonably tall and a size 8-10 but have absolutely no boobs/bum and can't pull of proper trendy Blush Where do I start? All help appreciated. Grazie Smile

No to leggings - cotton cropped jeans, or chinos (I can't wear the latter - look hideous in them).

I got this in preparation for a city break in the Summer, and am really pleased with it.

Are you on Pintrest? Some good ideas on there.

I'm off on the same soon. I've bought some new Superga trainers for walking about in, have some quite comfy sandals that are smart for evenings. A few cotton dresses, some girlfriend jeans and cotton long and short sleeve tshirts and jacket. I intend to mix and match..

Going to suggest the Vivienne Files too. Excellent ideas on there.

Make sure you are modestly dressed for churches and cathedrals, or you won't be allowed in.

Thanks everyone. Trousers are definitely what I need to source now. Don't do well with cropped generally as I have skinny calves. Will have a look for Capri pants? No idea of how hot or cold I will be as so long since been abroad Confused So far have ordered a long jersey dress, a tshirt dress, a skirt (knee length), a top and a pair of sketchers walking plimsole thingies Shock

This one. I ordered a size 8 and it hangs like a sack. No way on earth I could be considered a 6 Angry But 6 is sold out so I guess it is on the large size.

I went to Rome early June last year, they were in a middle of a heatwave and it was 35c.
I wore sketchers go walks, knee length skirts and vest tops. You will need your shoulders and legs covered to go in any churches and the Vatican

What is Boden sizing like?

I find Boden a little on the large side. I always order two sizes and sometimes three! You'll find a 20% off code and free returns in the promotional codes thread. Returns are easy and they refund v quickly

Mango is also good for cotton trousers, and very reasonable.

Mango is a good shout! Used to go there but haven't been recently and I am always the same size in their clothes (H&M I range from an XS to a 12 Confused). Thanks!

Almost all my Sumer dresses are from Boden and several usually go with me on our annual trip to Rome. Very much recommended.
I tend to go for plain coloured ones, or very subtly patterned or striped, for city holidays, saving prints for seaside holidays ( even then, I avoid the garish 'fun' Boden prints).

Definitely getting dress from Boden and maybe a skirt. Are their tops good? Oh I am getting so excited! Thanks everyone Flowers
