Err, how did that happen with no one noticing!
It's because we're all on the dark and stormy, sloe gin and prosecco innit.

Sorry for the not v inspired title but I panicked.

That sounds like a good distraction Rose. Sorry you are having to wait, and about being frightened. We can hand hold as necessary. It's bound to be double stressful given the absence of Dh (10pm? LTB) and the wretched exam cosh.Flowers [squish]

Herbs, can you cut your losses on the ad ed class? There must be other bits and pieces that might be more, erm, fruitful elsewhere. Unless it's getting you tiptop experience , that you really need, then I'd leave.

Mrs S, hope today is not quite as ball -breaking as you'd imagined. Thinking of you today.
All this restructuring! BD, Mrs S, Herbs, me.some of it of course is change for changes sake. It's sickening and I am Angry for us all.

My day will mostly be made up of making calls today. I do hate a day on the phone.
A Tuesday of Happiness to one and all.

Cremo · 17/05/2016 10:28

*Date for your diary

Saturday 10th September. Cake Wine

bigTillyMint · 17/05/2016 11:13

Woo Hoo! It's in Cremo!

Good Luck Rose - pottering round the mall sounds good!

CointreauVersial · 17/05/2016 13:29

Excellent, Crem! It's in the diary.

No Eco here (I don't think the school offer it at GCSE). DD1 just texted that she's heading into her Biology (Core Science) exam, to which my response was "HAND YOUR PHONE IN, YOU MUPPET!" She's such a space cadet I'm terrified she'll forget.

DS texted to say that French went OK, and he's confident. He's predicted a D; if he beats that I'd be astonished delighted.

Lalsy · 17/05/2016 13:30

Waaay haaay Crem!

bigTillyMint · 17/05/2016 14:01

LOL CV, the DC often come home with tales of the muppets who forget to turn their phones off! Hope DS remembers!

motherinferior · 17/05/2016 14:43

I have been behaving Normally, including running both mornings, cooking Proper Meals (of surreptitious vegan-ness to counter the Sausage Factor) and resuming the Choli-ripper...but am now wiped Grin

Cremo · 17/05/2016 16:43

Sleeping for an hour in the afternoon is most restorative and should be prescribed more often MI. Helps enormously with getting through the evening chores, dinner, homework etc.
I have mostly achieved with my phone calls, and have moved on to sorting summer clthing. Not quite ready for the Martinique wardrobe yet, bit pretty sure i can ditch the fluff lined boots.
I have 14 blue or navy and white tops. Just saying.
Ridiculous woman.

Re Party: will it be ok for everyone to pay a little towards their own dinner as per usual Crepey meet ups ? Hmm
Im planning to splash out on booze and cocktails / nibbles and the stripper obviously.Grin
Does that sound ok?

Is anyone else stuck for accommodation? So far Hatty, Beachy and I will be bunking ensemble. Anyone else? It will involve an air B&B.Smile

motherinferior · 17/05/2016 16:56

Of course we sodding can, Cremo.

I am stuck on finishing a feature. Must conclude it. Must must must.

Dinner tonight, should anyone be interested, is a chickpea/aubergine curry based on a Madhur Jaffrey 'aubergine in the pickling style' recipe, with basmati rice and green beans in some format (probably a garlicky lemony grain mustardy dressing because I like it). Do you think that will strike back at the Sausage Factor (fnar)?

bigTillyMint · 17/05/2016 17:03

Of course we can pay our way, Cremo! Have you decided on your venue yet?

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 17/05/2016 17:08

Of course we can, and a SLEEPOVER GrinGrin glad you reminded me, actually, as I just googled Traveldodgies......

Lalsy · 17/05/2016 17:11

Of course, Crem!

Sounds yummy, MI. I am hoping to dodge cooking properly tonight.

Rosebag · 17/05/2016 17:31

Of course, Crem...no question!

I also worry about DD forgetting to leave her phone in the locker...I must have said it 30 times this morning. I also go on at her about going to the loo before each exam, and not smiling or looking at any friends... hopeless, I am. She says French and Biology were ok, and she used her extra time for checking...this is a first! I was quite pleased with her.... we are both having a night off revision. Woo hoo. Grin

I have had a wasted trip to the hospital who are now saying I need an appointment to be bled. I only go once a year so the path. form that I have has the old information about opening times of the phlebotomy dept, which haven't changed in about 30 years. Angry Angry Angry

So I am doing Aggressive Cooking and the family will have to suffer meat loaf tonight...( that's Klops to you MrsS Grin )

Meanwhile back at the ranch...have been googling..what do we think of this They don't have my size left but I might buy one bigger and alter... It's for a summer function...too girlie? Too "Hello Rabbi" ???

wordassociationfootball · 17/05/2016 17:40

Charming frock Rose.

Just waving...Met Monty and her dd1 in RL on Sun - which was very nice - and today at school admission meeting, bumped into them both again.... shortly before dd left her school bag there for a sleepover.

On the way home she said "Mum, can we have 'the chat' again?' Made I larf.

Can't believe you do early morning 5ks MI. It's... far.

Zumba now in new contact lenses which might be a bit too much reality...

herbaceous · 17/05/2016 17:56

Rose - lovely frock.

Cremo - of course we can pay, you daft beggar. Well, I say that... I'm sure DP can stump up.

MI - you sound more yourself. And nothing like an aubergine to counter the sausage factor.

My career continues to be a slow progression into disaster, hastened periodically by me royally fucking up. Today's foot-in-mouth incident.... About three weeks ago there was a discussion on Facebook re school at which I volunteer with the little ones, called B. Sometimes it gets poor ratings, but this is due to low funding (as it said on the thread). I chimed in, as I always do when B is mentioned, about how marvellous it is, but that yes, I'd heard that they had to make some support staff redundant.

Yesterday I got an email from the head asking me not to discuss the school's finances on FB, as the parents don't yet know. She also, it turned out, emailed all the teachers telling them off for disclosing stuff (to me). I had no idea it was confidential, nor I imagine did the staff. I of course emailed back apologising profusely, and removed the offending comment. She hasn't written back. I am now convinced my potential career as a TA is permanently scuppered, as she'll never give me a decent reference. Not that I was using her as a referee, but her underling.

It is partly her fault for not managing her information leakage better, but still. Waaaaaaaah.

DP is also in Slough of Despond as he hates his job, has done for about a year, but his firm refuses to make him redundant, preferring to let him sit on his own doing nothing. Thoughts are turning to chucking it all in, moving to Devon and whittling wood.

motherinferior · 17/05/2016 18:13

You will look divine in that frock, Rose.

I have failed to put sufficient words on the page today, it must be admitted, WAF.

motherinferior · 17/05/2016 18:21

Herbs, I STILL remember saying to cousin X on email had she heard cousin Y was getting divorced...before phone call from Y saying nobody in India must know at all. Eeek. Major mendacity and fancy footwork required on my part (how was I supposed to know? we're not particularly close, so I thought by the time Y told me it was pretty well common knowledge).

Mind you last I heard Y's mother still hadn't told anyone about the divorce, and she gets asked about her husband every time she's back. They got divorced over 10 (x, ten) years ago...and our family is no stranger to divorce, dammit, our cousin Maya (in the same city as Y) got divorced in 1979. When it truly was a bit racy.

bigTillyMint · 17/05/2016 18:23

Nice dress Rose, shame there's only 1 size left.

"The chat" WAF? About puberty?

Eeek, Herbs! It sounds like she hasn't managed sensitive information particularly well.

herbaceous · 17/05/2016 19:00

Noooooooooo BTM! I was relying on you to stroke my hair and tell me it's nothing to worry about.

hattymattie · 17/05/2016 19:14

Herbs - I am so prone to this sort of gaff that I never discuss anything like this in writing. Leaves scope for denial!

Rose - like the dress although you are very clever to be able to alter things. I must say there were some strange items on that website and the model looks well fed up. When you said you have to be bled at hospital I imagined leeches!

Good luck to those in exams - DD2 has her German oral tomorrow and DD1 starts on Thursday.

Crem - there is a promo on Eurostar so I'm going to book my tickets.

hattymattie · 17/05/2016 19:20

...and my FB keeps defaulting into Spanish - I have no idea how this has happened and I keep having to ask it to translate.

Cremo · 17/05/2016 19:37

Go for it Hattie. I will confirm the acomm this week when i get arse in gear.

Herbs thats crap, and so not your fault. How , how!? Were you supposed to know? I hate things like this. HT was a bit narky to send an email. Would have been kinder of her to phone. Don't go to Devon and whittle spoons. We'd miss you.

Thanks Crepeys for confirming that.
I dont want anyone to think its gonna be yaya fab u las! Kust us Crepeys pm the town wurh nice food cocktails and perhaps a sense of occasion.Hmm
Rose, you can wear that fantastic frock. Its totally 'upstairs now Rabbi'
But thats the point.n'est pas ?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 17/05/2016 19:43

Are you feeling quite ok Crem?!

Yay to 10th September and yes of course to self funding - it's fabulous of you to organise a treat for us all.

Am feeling ridiculously tired for no very good reason and rather sick - also for no good reason. Am lying wanly on the sofa having cooked supper that I don't want to eat. Pah.

OP posts:
herbaceous · 17/05/2016 19:45

Thank you Cremo. As three members of staff had mentioned it to me, I presumed it wasn't confidential. And in this day and age, you can't announce redundancies internally and not tell parents until four weeks later, and not expect it to leak out.

I am going to be a Brave Soldier when I see her on Thursday, and speak to her face to face, and grovel.

MontserratCaballe · 17/05/2016 19:59

Hello everyone. Just passing through very quickly. Hope to have more time later in week.

We had a lovely afternoon on Sunday with WAF and her delightful Dds. We went for the form filling at S today and dd1 now cannot wait to get there. Phew, what a relief. Thanks for all the handholding, lovely crepeys.

Huge hugs / bracing slaps on the shoulder to all with job woes. I have been there and it is hateful. Thinking of you all Flowers

Dear Crem, thank you for inviting me to your do. It sounds great fun and I would love to come. Thank you.

Messiah is on R3. Haven't heard it for months and forgot just how marvellous it is. Am warbling among, to the Hmm of the kids. Ha ha ha.
