Also tried and quite liked these trousers (the hideous belt would have to go) but didn't buy because they are v different to my usual look and I wasn't sure what shoes would go with them. Dp loved them on me! Any opinions?

I like them. Chinos are proof of my madness...every year I try on the same three pairs repeatedly, hoping against hope that this time they won't be eyeball achingly awful.

Never worn them before but really want something that doesn't feel so hot as jeans.

My toast jeans arrived, and although they aren't the holy grail of jeans they are pretty nice. Wide-ish straight legs, long rise so sit on the waist, and the legs are reasonably short (I'm 5"4" so I need to take up most trousers). No wonder they didn't sell, they would be ankle swingers on taller people. Nice dark, no lycra denim. Keepers but still not the high waist wide legs I've been thinking about.

It was warm here yesterday and this morning, but is positively apocalyptic now.

I'm quite partial to a chino - always rolled up for a bit of ankle-flashing. I wear with pretty much any flat shoes/trainers/sandals.

I'm in The South of France. I have brought with me a carefully selected capsule wardrobe for warm weather including lovely sandals. It's fecking freezing and rainy so what I am actually wearing is the same pair of skinny jeans and my Birkenstocks or converse. I have also realised that new Birkenstocks are required. I wasn't going to buy any this year in the name of style but I like them and they're comfortable and I saw some
Patent navy ones in E. Leclerc that I liked. I've been trying to pick up style tips from the French but they're mainly in massive rain coats so it's not been that successful!

I saw that in the shop, KeeponKeepingOn. It's nice BUT it doesn't have pockets, I think.

To be fair, that may not bother you. I was looking at the navy blue, in a work/everyday context, where the lack of pockets bothers me.

I'm looking for some flatform sandals which are comfy but still stylish. And not TOO clumpy.

I don't like the Oasis top, sorry. It reminds me of a Pierrot, and I suspect that the fabric wouldn't be v nice.
