Kate's Clutch Bags

I was reading a bit of a mean article in the Daily Mail (obviously) about how unstylish she was. I don't agree with all of it but i do think the wee teeny clutch bags don't help. I know she can't manage a shoulder bag but maybe something a bit bigger might look better and less buttoned up.

I also can't believe she has tights on she must be roasted!

I think Kate's about 5'10 too but looks taller as she's so slim. And of course she's usually in high heels.

NNalreadyinuse · 17/04/2016 09:23

I think she is probably completely different at home. Having a boring public persona is probably a way of distancing the press and all us other nosy people from her real life, which I suspect is rather lovely.

When you think about it, her public appearances are not all that frequent, which leaves a lot of time to do exactly as she pleases. Most people have jobs where they are scrutinised, albeit not quite so publically, and have to put on a persona to deal with customers/pita colleagues etc. Probably the same for her.

I like a pair of nude courts and if I had her legs I'd wear them to death too. As it is, I own numerous pairs of pretty painful shoes but live in my ankle boots.

Diana was a statuesque, Amazonian type with broad shoulders. Can't think how you saw her as 5'7" PO! Glad someone else commented on the Queen's figure in that lace dress because I thought the same, but I didn't as anything because I couldn't work out if it was actually the Queen or Margaret.

The Bhutan outfit that Kate wore when doing archery was incredibly flattering. The ruching on the hips of that long blue skirt had gave her more shape and she should go for that effect more often, instead of the flared skirt style which just hangs off her.

I remember reading an article claiming that Kate and Pippa were well known amongst their 'set' for being bitchy cows, and apparently had been awful to Andrew's daughters at some event years back (the roller disco thing where Kate looked fan) and they still won't have much to do with her now. God knows how true it is.....

....but that, coupled with the fact she was a smoker Wink, makes me think behind closed doors she's not all boring sweetness and light, and perversely that makes me like her more.

MargotLovedTom · 17/04/2016 09:39

fab, not fan

Was she a smoker? That could explain why she doesn't seem to have the best skin. I mean, she looks fine, but Diana at that age had the most radiant skin.

WipsGlitter · 17/04/2016 09:44

Yes. She was a smoker. Along with the top less photos were some of her smoking apparently.

Margot wasn't that pic taken when she and William split up briefly? I think she went all out to show him what he was missing out on and what a good time she could have without him. I'll give it to her though, it worked!

MargotLovedTom · 17/04/2016 10:18

Yes, Cerseirys I think it was, and yes, it definitely did work!

lem73 · 17/04/2016 16:24

It's funny but the only place I've read that Kate has behaved like a cow has been on MN. On the other hand, I remember reading Tara Palmer Tomkinson saying that when Kate and William split, people started to treat Kate really badly and she handled it with dignity. I think you have to be capable of being a bitch to handle yourself in these circles.

looki · 18/04/2016 15:47

I am under the impression that William is really arrogant. Maybe that is a given when he is the future king but I'd like to think that Kate isn't as docile as she appears in the press. I think she must be confident in private as she had plenty of opportunities and access to the finer things in life in her maiden life. I find it hard to watch her being interviewed as she appears excruciatingly uncomfortable and ill at ease.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 18/04/2016 16:08

I imagine she's very docile and that's why it works so well.

CallaLilli · 18/04/2016 16:35

His joke at Wimbledon about the Tube strike was a bit ill-judged.

ElspethFlashman · 18/04/2016 16:44

Oh William is the boss there, no doubt.

I wouldn't say he does a stroke at home. When they lived in Anglesey just after they got married there were lots of reports about how contented he was in his domesticity because wonderful Kate had a bath run for him when he came home from work.

The impression was meant to be "Poor motherless lamb finally found someone to take care of him" but all I could think was "Run your own fucking bath, mate!"

AdrenalineFudge · 18/04/2016 16:53

CallaLilli What was the content of the joke?

looki · 18/04/2016 17:35

He pretended to run for the tube when they threatened strike. I think it was a 'you had to be there' joke.....

Gosh I didn't think she would be very timid. Pippa appears to be a strong wonan. I'd have thought Kate would be the same.

Pisssssedofff · 18/04/2016 18:25

What on earth gives you that impression ? Neither have done a stroke of work in their lives !

looki · 18/04/2016 18:29

I think I was under that impression because of her marathons etc. She'd have to be pretty disciplined and strong willed.

Pisssssedofff · 18/04/2016 19:38

I guess my definition of a strong woman is very different then

DCIRobertaSteel · 18/04/2016 22:05

She (Kate) doesn't strike me as docile in the slightest - I'd imagine her to be rather brittle, to be honest. Funny how different people have different perceptions.
