Do you get "hit on"?

Following on from a thread yesterday, I realised I never get hit on. Now I'm 43 but even 20years ago, I wouldn't have been hit on in everyday scenarios. Yes I would have been approached in a club or bar, but not paying for petrol, whilst at work etc. So do you get hit on or not? I know we're supposed to be above all of this and not be validated by everyone else's opinion of us, but starting to think I am officially past it! I'm reading a really annoying book at the moment by Paula Daly, The mistake I made, and in it, the protagonist cannot move for romantic and sexual advances - So much so that it's beginning to grate as not realistic, but then maybe it is and it's just me that gets overlooked! If you reply to this rambling, please let us know you're age and what you would rate yourself out of 10 in attractiveness terms. I would rate myself 6/10 on a very good day!

Weirdly, yes I do! I was recently away with my dc and it happened twice. I think they assumed that I was a single parent as my DP wasn't with us. My dc were much amused and recounted the events to my DP when we returned home. As DS2 (10) said 'they'd have backed down if dad had been with us.'

Also 43 and less and less. Feel am entering into the realms of the invisible, despite fairly decent looks (if I try v hard!). My mum however is 71 and still gets approached. Think not just appearance related, but in the vibes you give off.

Yes, fairly often: every few weeks or so. I think it's more to do with the fact that I am cheerful, extroverted and friendly than my looks!

To be honest, I don't know how I'd rate myself but I've a good 15 years on you age-wise and I do get approached a lot- on trains, buses, shops, etc- often by younger-looking men. Usually I am minding my own business but they seem to want to chat ....

I used to get hit on all the time on the Tube, train etc when I was younger. Now I'm 51 and it hasn't happened for years. A couple of blokes at an activity I do have asked me if I am single though. Think they were just making conversation though.

I used to, when I was young, but not so much anymore, but then, I don't really go anywhere. OH says I get looked at, but I never notice.

My aunt is in her late 60s and gets a lot of attention, but she spends all of her time pampering herself and always goes up with full make up, big hair, tottering in heels (think TOWIE).

Nope never, well nearly never...as in, hmm maybe 3 times in the last 15 years and not much more often before that.

Actually I think I'm too friendly, I like talking to people, but I think it scares single men a bit, I suspect I come off as trying to chat people up rather than just chatting, but it's the exact opposite - if that makes sense? I've been with my DP for so long that it wouldn't even occur to me to flirt or chat someone up and I forget that's what people might be doing, so I'm just happily mingling.

But it's quite liberating actually. I'm far more adventurous about what I wear as I reckon no-one's looking so I may as well have some fun.

Rarely but I a) do have resting bitch face, and b) my kids are very young and sadly my trips out these days involve the children's centre, soft play or the farm, perhaps not ideal zones for getting hit on I'm 30. I'd give myself 6/10 on a good day.

Only when I'm wearing my NHS Uniform , and I think it's because I'm a "Safe" fantasy (and yes , blokes still have a 'thing' for Uniform and a pair of kind eyes . (BTW , my uniform shows off nought but my arms !)

Just turned 40. I really don't care. When I was young I got so many men ogling and shouting things about my boobs I got really quite anxious about it.

Yes, quite a lot and it's irritating. My DH gets other men coming up to him and congratulating him on 'punching above his weight' which he find insulting and I find objectifying.

I also seem to attract the lovely, grabby kind of man and the ones who insult me when I don't gratefully take them up on their generous suggestion that I might like to give them a blow job. I am so bored of sexist wankers thinking I exist solely for their entertainment.

I used to maybe about 10 years ago. When I was in my 20's - was hit on quite a lot. Now being the wrong age of 40, it rarely happens. If it does, I feel embaressed. Feel to old to be 'hit on' now.
