Appaz there is a correct technique for that cross-legged thing, so don't bother trying it unsupervised because you will be a) disappointed and b) possibly bum injured. Harrumph. And Rippon is annoying. Not that I've even watched that prog yet.

Also I got DQ's walk muddled, what with kilometres and miles and such and dementia so obvs a walk of 5K or 3 miles is more impressive than 3K. MM, your walking schedule sounds impressive too. I am trying to increase mine. Glad we are on for being bridesmaids - I shall look vair pretty in my dress.

herbaceous · 08/04/2016 20:22

Can I be a bridesmaid too? Can I? I be the one that twitches the train.

bigTillyMint · 08/04/2016 20:23

Molly, Rippon is annoying! So Pollyanna and perfect. Bet she's had a load of work done Wink

I think we need a BP MU asap for the purposes of fitness!

Lalsy · 08/04/2016 20:30

I actually ache too much from my aqua class to contemplate sitting down on the floor, let alone getting up. I was in a very bad mood, which furious splashing dispelled, mostly (addle did the rest Smile).

CointreauVersial · 08/04/2016 20:34

I can do the cross-legged thing! There were a few "oof" noises, though.

I've never been a bridesmaid. Sad DSis did ask me, but I was 8 months pregnant by the time the wedding happened, so had to bow out. I managed to avoid all but one of her wedding photos - I'm crimson in the face, the size of a small sofa, and wearing an awful grey shirt-and-enormo-trouser combo. I couldn't have looked more elephantine, and doubt I could have squeezed down the aisle even if I'd wanted to.

Collymollypuff · 08/04/2016 20:34

Golly, is that a service addle offers? I am up for that. On a daily basis.

Yes to a BP MU. Spring has sprung, and we must stay young.

Blackduck · 08/04/2016 20:38

Train, train?!? I have to have a train?!??! swoons.

bigTillyMint · 08/04/2016 20:40

CV, I cannot imagine you looking elephantine!

Molly - I could be free this Sun or possibly next? Anyone else?

Dreamqueen · 08/04/2016 20:44

Colly no walk today, I feel really rough without the aid of gin. Hoping to get going tomorrow.

magimedi · 08/04/2016 21:55

Gin is the answer to everything & better than any medicine EVER prescribed.

My late DDad (a doc) was much in favour of the gin remedy.

Collymollypuff · 08/04/2016 22:30

Darn it, the next 2 Sundays are out...better when the pfb is back at uni...

Blackduck · 09/04/2016 08:32

I itch all over. I blame the ruddy bold two in one fabric conditioner and laundry sachets - work of the devil and smell vile......

bigTillyMint · 09/04/2016 09:23

BD, I stopped using fabric conditioner when DD developed patches of excema on her arms when she was about 1. Never had any problems sinceWink

Our bathroom lights have gone. Went whilst I was away, but before DH left. Guess who is now sorting it out? Of course, no electricians are free (but if he had booked in on Monday...) apart from one who can come tomorrow morning at 8 for £££.

My friend is getting married for the first time this summer. She is 53. She is going for the long white dress with train, veil etc. She will look fabulous.

I was a bridesmaid aged 5. I had a ball of flowers suspended on a blue satin ribbon. Which I swung round very energetically in church. Some flew off and the rest were brown by the time we got to the reception. Grin

I can't cross my legs since I knackered my knee a few years ago, when DD1 bet me I couldn't touch my toes. I could, so she went one further and bet me I couldn't get my hands flat on the ground. I couldn't, but had a good try, "something" gave in my knee and I had it strapped up for months. It has never been right since.

herbaceous · 09/04/2016 09:47

Fabric conditioner is an instrument of satan. Apparently the biggest contributor to VOCs in the home.

Have tried cross-legged thing. Can get down, though it's more of a collapse, but cannot begin to sport up without using at least one hand. Am I doomed?

bigTillyMint · 09/04/2016 09:51

MrsS, I can imagine you doing that as a bridesmaid!

Herbs, I think you just lose one point (hope so - me too!) and 8-10 out of 10 was deemed to be positive IIRC.

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/04/2016 09:59

I've never used fabric conditioner. I don't like smelling of, err, fabric conditioner.

NUFC69 · 09/04/2016 10:01

How wonderful of your friend, MrsS. I have been bridesmaid once when I was about 5/6, and maid of honour to my DSis, wearing a dress I made myself (plus one for the little bridesmaid). Back in the day there were no bridezillas - I remember that we decorated the church with flowers from our garden: ooh, and also that at seven am on the morning I was married my cousin and I took his dog for a walk and we ended up playing on the swings and the roundabout. DH was stopped by the police and should have had to take his documents into the local station, but was let off when he explained he was on his way to his wedding. A much simpler time, I think.

I had forgotten the joy of having cats around. - another mouse last night which, fortunately DH managed to catch and return outside.

Blackduck · 09/04/2016 10:13

Can I state I never usually use fabric conditioner but these were cheap (now I know why!!)

MrsS those flower balls must have been all the rage - I was a bridesmaid at around that age and had to carry one of those..... I also bloody froze as the wedding was in November and the bride thought short sleeve dresses made of fabric you could spit through (god I sound like my nan) was a grand idea.... I was as blue as tithe dress by the end...

bigTillyMint · 09/04/2016 10:36

For Crepeys needing a Saturday morning laugh, just cried with laughter reading this

Rosebag · 09/04/2016 11:22

Grin tilly Maybe he was expecting to be asked for extras Shock

I was never asked to be a bridesmaid. Too ugly I was Matron of Honour to BFF, though. Felt large and cumbersome next to the sweet little bridesmaids though...
BD if you need a line of matrons at your wedding, you just need to come to the Crepeys!

Have never used fabric conditioner, preferring to destroy the environment with my much loved tumble dryer I like my clothes to smell of nothing so I can layer on the Chanel.... Take an antihistamine for the itching BD

Here we are ...another Sat morning. DH has taken DS2 out driving again. DD is buried in art course work. Y'know, I can't imagine what we are going to DO with ourselves when the GCSE course work is all over with and submitted. Food Tech is done. Drama performances are next week (dreading next week)...and Art practical exam for the final piece is May 9th and 10th. Oh how will we fill the time???

DH is off to footie this afternoon locally and then we're going hear ConS's band at the theatre tonight, and yes, Magi I shall be having a couple of loverly G&T's Smile

Lalsy · 09/04/2016 11:28

Helping dd sort out tax, references, forms, DBS, NI number scans, endless. Saturday gin time cannot come too early today.

magimedi · 09/04/2016 11:51

Decorating finished. House restored to normal.

Going for a swim later & off to Portsmouth again tomorrow to see DH's aunt. (Still in hospital). I hate the A27 .

Cremo · 09/04/2016 11:56

Agree that fabric conditioner is the work of the devil. That and feckin' Yankee Candles. vile.

Have co-opted Dh to help me reassemble the office, since having a carpet put down. It took three days to shift the crap out of there. Am taking strength from you BTM, and your super human house clearing.Smile

Cinema tonight, my choice, so hopefully not some dystopian futuristic pile of poop. I may partake in a glass of rosé, if feeling up to it. Am angling to include dinner out in this scenario as well. Woo!

Anyone got a flutter on the Grand National then?
