Crem, go, really good luck. You will deserve a big Wine tonight, after the last few days.

MI, hope it goes smoothly.

On a trivial but mildly pleasing note, I got my delayed train refunded in full and process was very straightforward.

motherinferior · 27/04/2016 11:04

Poor old sis just texted to say she is going out because she's so cross. New bed has been delivered and dad huffing so much about where to put it, what about other bed etc that even mum - who was previously shouting at him - is telling him oh not to bother if it's too much hassle.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 27/04/2016 11:39

Good luck Crem......

I've reached a low point with my job and realise that I really don't enjoy it at all. I don't like my office, I don't like some of the people and I don't like the pressure. I like the money but that's it. And I don't think that's enough, unfortunately.

I am ready to throw in the proverbial towel. #midlifecrisis Grin

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 27/04/2016 12:49

And here's the link to the retreat thread, so if I go missing, you know where to find me..... thread

Cremo · 27/04/2016 13:08

Beachy can I join you...... The money isn't even enough for me....

motherinferior · 27/04/2016 13:28

I actually quite like my work, I'd just like more of it. And the space to focus on my novel again.

Crem, I wrote a bracing good luck post but lost it!

NUFC69 · 27/04/2016 13:59

I hope today goes well, Crem. You have been doing a marvellous job with DPs.

MI, I have been reading your travails with sympathy. You have been fantastic with DPs as well.

I had a lovely few days in York with my old friends - as I said to DH at the end of each day my jaw ached with too much talking. We did have a bit of culture when we visited Fairfax House - a lovely restored Georgian property.

It's very cold here, too - we keep on having hail storms: so much for getting out summer clothes, my boots have gone back on! And the central heating is back on during the day time.

addle · 27/04/2016 14:00

Good luck Crem!
Sympathies Beachy -heading off to find you in retreat

bigTillyMint · 27/04/2016 14:16

NU, a few days in York sounds lovely.

Beachy, I fancy a week in the place we stayed in Thailand on Koh Lanta - so peaceful, hot, great massages, wonderful food, very few tourists, time to read loads of books... It was the most relaxing place I have ever stayed!

hattymattie · 27/04/2016 15:20

Crem - good luck xx

BD - I used to love chatting with my mother but now it's all just circular. It must be achingly sad and lonely for DDad who now loves a chat when we visit but is still not great on the phone.

NU - if DD2 ends up in York we must get together.

Have had a morning shopping with DS buying converse, t shirts etc. It is much more fun shopping with the girls.

Rosebag · 27/04/2016 15:21

[[www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Badgley+Mischka+Side+Drape+Dress/223022528,default,pd.html prom dress] whoever suggested TKMax, I LUFFS YA. £60 reduced from £259 DD looks like a dream in it. Oh to fit into everything one puts on first time.....

Out shopping ...will catch up later. Best of luck crem

hattymattie · 27/04/2016 15:52

TK Maxx seems to be brilliant - DD1 has assembled a handful of reasonably priced ball dresses.

Cremo · 27/04/2016 17:40

Yay Rose - RESULT!

Interview was standard, I think I did ok
But
Lack experience in one particular area , which I struggled to bluff about.
Reckon I didn't nail it , despite best effort and no brain fog.
It's all experience innit. Exhausted now, but conjuring a shepherd's pie for dps.
In domestic slattern news , I have not hoovered for over two weeksBlush

bigTillyMint · 27/04/2016 17:54

Result, Rose!

Cremo, well done, am crossing everything for you CakeWine for doing your best, whatever the outcome.

Lalsy · 27/04/2016 18:19

Well done, Crem, fingers crossed - sounds like it was a useful experience anyway.... I don't think you get the medal for the most slatternly crepey with a paltry two weeks no-vacuum-action looks around and shudders

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/04/2016 18:56

Crem - you never know. I have done diabolical interviews and have got the job, and have also done interviews that I thought have gone well, and, err, hadn't. Fingers crossed.

Rose - I'll take the luff. Grin

I would be a strong contender for most slatternly crepey. But my view is that if people want the hoovering done, they can also do it themselves. Possession of a vagina does not automatically mean that all of the housework falls to you. Cannot remember last time I changed the bed... Blush

Lalsy · 27/04/2016 19:03

Quite, MrsS. I am the only person in my house that would like it done though (luckily I have a robot to help Grin)

motherinferior · 27/04/2016 19:07

Greetings from the sickbed. Mum buzzing enough on morphine to go through old photos including the Italian chap she picked up in Rome (and the photo is from Florence) plus her first boyfriend in Madras. Both v good looking. Why she married a madman and lived in England heaven knows. He is driving us both over the edge. She is snappy with him and implored us not to go away and leave her with him "blinking at her" (I slightly think this is what happens when you marry, and choose to stay married to, someone like that. Various people have said how devoted he is to her, ignoring the fact he irritates the hell out of her and about 45 years of their marriage were spent with her firmly subjugated to his distinctly average academic career).

She suggested she join us for dinner, before crashing out. This is clearly going to go on forever.

Dreamqueen · 27/04/2016 19:59

Flowers and Wine for Mi family can be exhausting. I'm home from my visit to oversee nephew in hospital. I'm exhausted. Going to pour a glass of wime & chill.
Night all.xx

Blackduck · 27/04/2016 21:30

MI so sorry :(

motherinferior · 27/04/2016 21:34

We actually then managed some very nice conversations about pies. Don't ask Grin

CointreauVersial · 27/04/2016 22:55

MI, I'm exhausted just reading your posts. It must be driving you round the twist.

Crem - wot MrsS said - you never know with interviews (and exams) - you might have done better than you realise. I really need to resurect my dormant job-search. I had an initial burst of enthusiastic applications, then nothing. I just don't hate my job enough.

Well done, Rose!TKMaxx does come up with the goods sometimes.

Anyway, I've had a productive afternoon, with a trip to Costco after work to restock the fridge with salmon sides and the loft with loo-roll. Then I went to collect a "bistro" table and chairs I picked up on eBay at the weekend, which will be perfect for our top patio once it's had a little tickle with some sandpaper and some teak oil.

Blackduck · 28/04/2016 05:56

Blimey it's parky out there this morning....

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 28/04/2016 07:03

We've got a hard frost this morning, honestly, stick a robin on it and it could be Christmas out there Smile

I resigned and slept like a baby.... New chapter starting (after three months notice). Very excited....
