Oh, that's hard MI. It has come quickly and your DSIS is not well too. Not surprised you cried Flowers

Monty, that's great that it went well, and I hope it was the same for you Auriga.

Oh MI :(.
Look after yourself. {{ }}

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/04/2016 09:44

Yes, MI, please look after yourself and be a bit selfish sometimes. Say no when you have to.

motherinferior · 16/04/2016 09:48

Sorry. I know I am being hopeless. I will stop being so pathetic soon.

Lalsy · 16/04/2016 09:51

MI, I am sorry. Your dsis being ill too.....so much to deal with. Please be selfish, look after yourself and would it be possible to ratchet work down a bit, given the timescale (just to take the pressure off you a bit - which will benefit everyone else too as you are doing so much). I am sure this has already occurred to you Flowers.

Monty, so glad the day went well. I hope you can take some time for yourself too.

Auriga, hope you are OK.

Blackduck · 16/04/2016 09:57

MI you are not being pathetic! I wish I s closer - I feel a dark and stormy is in order!

magimedi · 16/04/2016 10:00

MI - so sorry. Take care of yourself & ease up whatever you can.

motherinferior · 16/04/2016 10:14

Yes. I'm going to sort some priority stuff and chat to publishers etc. They will all be v sympathetic and helpful, I am sure.

bigTillyMint · 16/04/2016 11:33

On an S&B note, how do those of you with specs put on makeup? Do you keep them on while you do it or take them off?

I approached the mirror wearing my reading glasses earlier and had a horrible shock - I look about a hundred and eleventy four I was thinking I looked OKish for a crepey beforeSad

So should I wear them and trowel on loads of foundation, etc in the hopes of camouflaging it or just carry on glasses-less?

herbaceous · 16/04/2016 11:37

I just carry on without specs. Too depressing otherwise! I occasionally put them on for eyebrow-plucking, though it's a trifle awkward.

Rosebag · 16/04/2016 11:45

Noooo Tilly I"ve been using a magnifying mirror for years!!! Don't much like how it magnifies the things I'd rather not see, but I don't wear my glasses to put on makeup as I only need them for reading and close work (like getting the eyeliner straight...) Then I look in the normal mirror and the crepiness diminishes into pleasing blur Grin

MI Flowers Flowers Wine

Monty I am so relieved that the day went well Flowers Flowers Wine

Quiet chez nous at the moment. DH has taken DS2 out driving again. DD has done another lot of art and is now watching rubbish on the TV. We have been summoned to PILs for tea Hmm and DM is also invited. We have DBIL's mother's stone setting tomorrow in the Essex area. I feel the need for some light relief but it isn't forthcoming. Urrrrrrghhhhh

herbaceous · 16/04/2016 12:10

All quiet here too. Having a weekend of pottering, with highlights including cleaning the outside windowsills (the house looks like a crack den), ridding garden of unsightly excess, cleaning behind the bed where there is a 10-year build-up of horror, and 'helping' DS make a lantern for his school project.

I'm also going to apply for a job! It's in the Educating East End school, but as their comms and media manager, doing their website, sorting out signs, writing the newsletter, etc. Be right up my alley. It's advertised as full-time, term time only, but I'd like to do it part time, so I can do some teaching as well. Then I'd be doing something I'm familiar with for half the time, and something new and exciting for half the time. Ideal, non?

MI - life sounds very discombobulating at the moment. Hold tight, put on blinkers and keep plodding on. You shall prevail.

Dreamqueen · 16/04/2016 12:19

Flowers and Brew MI Sending you big hugs and a prayer. You have so much on your plate at the moment that a few tears are to be expected.

BTM when I look in my magnifying mirror wearing my glasses, I feel despair and wonder if it's even worth trying to put make up on. I alternate between putting some make up on, then checking what I've done with my glasses & adding another layer of make up. I feel I'm turning into one of those old ladies whose make up is always slightly either too garish/heavy with lipstick outside my lip line.

bigTillyMint · 16/04/2016 13:13

Herbs, that sounds a perfect combination!

DQ and Rose, I gave my magnifying mirror to DD ages ago Grin

I am getting/have got a horrid coldAngry

Meeeee! Nothing in the diary yetSmile

Collymollypuff · 16/04/2016 13:52

5pm on 30th April is in the diary (marked as Crepeys). Just tell me where to go. I do like Waterstones Piccadilly 5th floor cocktails.

Herbs, I am v excited for you re that job. Will you get someone to jobshare it with you?

Blackduck · 16/04/2016 14:15

Oh oh Rudy I was thinking of coming down that weekend anyway to so Ddad........I could be tempted!

motherinferior · 16/04/2016 15:27

I'll try!

Crepeys, a very important question. Picked up a trendy dark denim tunic in charity shop. Needs v slight adaptation and then I can aim for the sub-Toast look. But what do I wear with it? Leggings? Do I double-denim with it? Please drop whatever you're doing and advise!

bigTillyMint · 16/04/2016 16:30

Leggings. Or thick tights? Not sure double-denim is a good look when you've been there the first time roundWink

herbaceous · 16/04/2016 17:15

Would double denim be OK if the leg denim was grey or black? Skinny like? Now I want a trendy dark denim tunic.

Have just spent a jolly hour cutting up the ancient hydrangea and jasmine that this morning was climbing up the house, and is now in pieces on its way to the tip. It has revealed a number of holes and a lot of dampness. Grrr.

motherinferior · 16/04/2016 17:43

The garment in question ....

Crepe And Stormy
Collymollypuff · 16/04/2016 17:48

I like that a lot, MI. But I am under-qualified to comment on additional garments.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 16/04/2016 17:55

That sings red tights and DM boots to me! But that might be a little toddler-esque. So leggings in navy would be good.

My washing machine is blocked. I have manually emptied the water three times today. I have called a man.....

I'm glad your day was OK, Monty, as OK as it could be. And I hope that your day wasn't too bad, Auriga. It sounded like you had made great plans, especially decorating the cardboard coffin. My dmum had a wicker one and we twined flowers and plants from the garden through it the day before.

I have been thoroughly grumpy today. Just am. Dh and ds are either deliberately misunderstanding me to wind me up or being thick - either way, I'm grumpy.....
