Sold! Off to research flights.....We did a little trip involving Cathar castles when dc were little (and heavily armed with wooden swords). Amazing.

motherinferior · 14/04/2016 14:52

I have had the most marvellously cathartic shout at the car insurance people. I feel cleansed. GrinGrin

wordassociationfootball · 14/04/2016 16:02

Thinking of you Monty. I echo what Crem says about hoping the right things get said Flowers

wordassociationfootball · 14/04/2016 16:06

Have ordered 3 pairs of trousers and a dress from Baukjen. Will link to success in the next few days.

Crepies, have been having top notch brows with this. It's quite dark enough for me. If you do it carefully and brush before it dries, it's super effective.

wordassociationfootball · 14/04/2016 16:10

any successes, I mean.

Will now be tending to my moustache while dreaming up a story about a banana bird. DH worked oth again today. I chose to clean said house (in my lacklustre fashion) and enjoyed it.

I find it hard to clean while he is here. Like I'm skivvying around a messy king... Keep feeling like we need to re-negotiate various marital contracts that I'm not sure were ever negotiated in the first place (sounds like Crem's work) How are you supposed to do that without talking about it Confused ?

motherinferior · 14/04/2016 16:26

I'm sticking with moustache dye on the brows!

herbaceous · 14/04/2016 16:32

I am embracing the grey, well at least the front streak which I like to think is rather dashing, and not at all like Dickie Davis. It's been there a while, but oddly since I had it cut yesterday everyone's been saying 'ooh, you're going grey at the front'. One of my little lovelies also commented on the wrinkly state of my skin. Great.

Our next-door neighbours have today replaced the sagging old picket fence separating our gardens with spanking new panels with (Mrs) trellis (of North Wales) on the top. It looks marvellous! Has transformed our garden, without having to pay a penny. The NDNs on the other side did theirs a while ago, and refused our offer of money. Quids in.

bigTillyMint · 14/04/2016 17:03

Oh FFS! Just got a PCN for going down Victoria St at 17.52 on our way back from DM's last week. DH was driving, but we were both feeling ill and didn't realise that we were going into the zone 8mins before it was allowed. So many roadworks there, the signs weren't obviousSad

magimedi · 14/04/2016 17:05

My hair always looks whiter after a cut, Herbs.

motherinferior · 14/04/2016 17:55

Still no sign of car to replace the one some @rse pranged, or removal of ours for repair. A succession of rather nice and sympathetic young Indian people at the helpline have failed to get the garage to fulfil its constant promises to supply replacement - promises alternating with patronage to the little woman about how everyone else wants one too - and no removal of ours, obviously. Final nice young man called Prashad told me frankly he'd have been a lot crosser than I am.

Allegedly one will be with us tomorrow (DP can work from home) but they are again lying through their yellow fangs.

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/04/2016 18:04

I have period pain from hell and it transpires that Spanish women, like the French, have genteel little periods which require nothing larger than a Super tampon, so will be employing belt and braces method when my jumbo ones run out. Spanish women also do not have tits, as have had no luck finding a bikini that DD2 can cram her 30GGs into. Even the size 20 was inadequate. So she has been understandably cross. We are off to Palma tomorrow (if she wakes up) to see what they can offer. I won't hold my breath.

motherinferior · 14/04/2016 18:10

MrsS, can you get a cheap black crop top to wear with her normal bikini pants?

Sympathies re car, BTM. At least you've got a sodding vehicle, though!

Auriga · 14/04/2016 18:18

Have washed the sheets and made up nine beds/airbeds, chosen the readings, ordered the (few) flowers, stocked up with food, cleaned most of the house and brushed the dog.

I spent two hours this morning decorating the cardboard coffin with cards, paintings, photos, bits of the Guardian (this morning's headline was perfect: 'Loch Ness Monster Found') and scans of treasured keepsakes. DD did a fantastic painting of a cockerel, which has a special meaning for her and DM. We have borrowed 8 (eight, VIII) pairs of wellies & lots of pillows.

I still can't do my reading without tears. And the weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon is getting worse, though we are well-prepared. All the children, all the grandchildren and 2/3 great-grandchildren will be there along with most nephews and nieces and three grand-nieces.

Flowers to Crem, MI, BD, Montserrat.

Please think of us tomorrow afternoon.

motherinferior · 14/04/2016 18:31

Much love, Auriga. Xxx

wordassociationfootball · 14/04/2016 18:35

Auriga that sounds like the most brilliant kind of send off. It's very, very touching.

Lalsy · 14/04/2016 18:36

Auriga, we will be Flowers.

Blackduck · 14/04/2016 18:56

Auriga that sounds fabulous (may pinch it for when I go). I will be keeping everything crossed for the weather....

Blackduck · 14/04/2016 19:00

BTM cross for you!

Ds got a merit in his piano Grin. Couple more marks here and ther (and less disastrous sight reading) and a distinction would be in the bag but very pleased!!!

Cremo · 14/04/2016 19:01

Oh Auriga, you have again 'punched above your weight' with regards making things wonderful for for your family. You are a complete inspiration, and honestly I don't know how you have the energy.
Wishing you lack of wobble tomorrow. Nobody will mind at all , about a few wee tears. The coffin sounds amazing as well.ThanksThanks
Monty I hope you e had a glass of Wineor two at this point and that the day was befitting.
XxThanks

Off to settle my addled brain at Pilates. And breathe.....

Dreamqueen · 14/04/2016 19:14

Auriga That sounds a perfect send off if such a thing is possible. Flowers
Monty hope you're ok?
BTM that is so annoying, Is it work setting up an account that debits automatically (if there is such a thing) I do that for Dartford crossing.
BD well done to Ds, I'd love to be able to play piano.
Mrs S sypmaty on the P pain. I don't know how much longer you're away for but would ordering online from Spanish ebay or Amazon with next day delivery be any good?
MI what insurance company/ so that I can make sure to avoid at all costs? ypu are right to be seriously cross with them.

I had a lovely day with DIL she was getting portfolio pics done at a studio in deepest Essex, I ended up being the photographers assistant, holding various screens etc up like on a proper photoshoot. It was fun. Not so fun was the well reviewed place we went for lunch after. Had to send my rare steak back because it was cremated, the replacement wasn't much better. I gave up at that point.

Home win a gin now .

Cremo · 14/04/2016 19:19

BD well done to ds. That's terrific.

Rose, glad you go the 10x8s done, and the process was a laugh.Shame on the resto.
