Ds: It has taken me nine and a half hours to tidy my room.
Me (in pathetically hopeful manner): And what have you learnt from this?
Ds: My mother is horrible.
Angry Angry Hmm

Blackduck · 28/03/2016 22:08

Stropps ha ha..

CV bummer...

So with all our skills could we not set up a retreat somewhere?

herbaceous · 28/03/2016 22:29

Evening hags.

Just back from Brizzle, where we stayed with be set of friends, and had brunch with some others. The ones who didn't invite us to their wedding. However, they are forgiven, especially as they presented me with a late birthday present of a hamper with bollinger, truffles, champagne, and the like. Mmm.

Long drive back, though, as we had to divert via Slough to allow DS to have a wee.
DP pretty much silent all the drive. I had a strop at him once we got home, as ONCE AGAIN he left the car full of his rubbish. This has been bothering me for years, and tonight I just said 'bloody hell, the car just gets full of rubbish', and he went off on one, saying he'd been taking the cases in,,blah blah. So I ignored him for about 30 minutes, which I never do, and now he's being all nice.

Just caught up with the Night Manager. Huzzah for the Brits. And now watching a etching about the Easter uprising, which is always a bit awks as back in the day my family used to oppress DP's by owning vast swaths of Ireland and being bastards.

Lol at Family Oppressors Herbs. Glad u had a smashing weekend.

Just watched Rowan Atkinson trying very hard not to be funny in Maigret. Have to give it 4/5 StarStarStarStarfor the artfully pastel- toned shots of 50s Paris. Rather sublime. We both wished it was a nice undemanding Sunday night series .
Ya boo sucks to Sunday night depression doing Monday.
I really don't want to back to work either.Easter Sad

motherinferior · 29/03/2016 06:59

Herbs, my mum tends to go on about the awfulness of The Brits at the drop of a hat, which does beg the question of why she bloody married one (with of course the implicit disgrace of having produced two repulsively Brit-looking daughters...)

Off for a Ladyjog. Need to make a Decision about my hair which is looking Middle Aged Lady.

wordassociationfootball · 29/03/2016 09:12

Having a largely crap time in Wales. Finding DH difficult. Dd1 pining unpleasantly for home. PILs yesterday unfun and I am deffo no ray of light: sedm to have AF on the way -unschefuled. HRT takers, please advise, should I gi on and start my Progesterone as scheduled on 1st April evdn thiugh I might already be on?

Bleugh feel maudlin and negative. In state of permi spat with DH. Am slerping with Uncle Fred's ashes in cupboard next to me. Fortunately have managed to keep thus fromm Dd1 with whom I'm bunking.

Stropp's D's is going some. It's taken about three weeks for the DDS to tidy their rooms and still not done.

Blackduck · 29/03/2016 09:13

I have one more day at home so am still in bed waiting for a cup of tea.....

Then I have three rather full on days before a week off chez Blackduck.

Anyone around at the weekend? Might make a dark 'n' stormy at Waterstones.

wordassociationfootball · 29/03/2016 09:14

Sleeping not slerping!

wordassociationfootball · 29/03/2016 09:15

Sorry for typos. Treat to self....

motherinferior · 29/03/2016 09:45

BD, I could definitely make a D&S on Sat.

Blackduck · 29/03/2016 09:59

Sounds like a plan MI :)

CremoEgg · 29/03/2016 11:02

WAF , oh dear sounds awful, but surely mostly to do with AF surely? SadNo idea about the hormones , lovely.
can MI help?

Had a completely sleepless night, one of my awful ones , which has left me feeling quite sick and headachy. Just staring at work screen here, fearing there is no work in me today.Sad

bigTillyMint · 29/03/2016 11:02

BD I would love a D&S bur would have to be afternoon/v early eve on Sat as we are out with friends for dinner.

WAF sounds gruelling - not least sleeping sleeping next to uncle Fred. What HRT is it? I'm not sure that it's life and death what day you actually start on - have you got them with you? Why does it need to be 1st?

I am on a lovely train journey to visit Stropps, although a loud conversation about train journeys behind me is somewhat distracting me from my book. One of the young men seems to know every stop on every line in the British IslesGrin

Blackduck · 29/03/2016 11:24

Happy for late afternoon/early evening as suspect it will be a curry with ddad Saturday night...

bigTillyMint · 29/03/2016 11:36

Ooh, might be able to catch up then!

Cremo, sorry to hear you had a sleepless night and are feeling crappy Flowers

DH had anotherAngry tossing and turning night so I didn't have the best of sleeps.
Bit worried that he must be stressed to still not be sleeping properly now it's the hols. He doesn't usually get stressedConfused

motherinferior · 29/03/2016 11:36

Ooh, hugely to my relief DD2 has just shown up in my room and relieved me of my last tenner (this bit was obviously not hugely to my relief) to go to the pictures with friends. DP and I were worried she was lapsing back into sullen inactivity over the holidays, having been quite organised about seeing friends etc in the half-term. I’d actually texted out to a few friends whose DDs are her best mates, flagging up that DD2 was around but in fact one of her friends got in touch with her this morning. And then one of the mates’ DDs also texted her. So they are a Gang.

Rosebag · 29/03/2016 12:53

Sorry about the damage CV I get it...when there are lovely improvements one could be making to the house, it can't seem much fun to have to replace a shed and stuff.
stropps my lot gang up on me like that when I come on strong about stuff in the home. Stand firm. Stand firm.
waf I'm on the no bleed variety of HRT so I'm not sure. Like tilly says, it might not matter. Sorry it's miserable where you are. Can you not talk to DH...get away for a coffee and sort it out? Flowers
tilly maybe it'll take DH a few more days to unwind? Perhaps you'll get a bit more sleep at stropps!
I am a bit smug as my DC are back at school for another week and a half before a later Easter hols than most. I am avoiding a lot of work by sitting in a cafe after doing the supermarket push. I continue to be harassed by Annoying Trustee and have had to send her a very blunt email to try and put an end to it all. She is targeting me with emails, texts and handwritten letters and cards. What a nutter. What on earth did I do to deserve her...she's like a fly buzzing around my head. No matter how much I swat her away, she comes back.

Thanks for all the kind concerns about DM and her odd priorities. I'm not going to take her to task about it....it's not worth it when someone believes totally that they are always right. But thank you Crepeys, for letting me rant on about it.

Cremo · 29/03/2016 13:25

Rose, I can't believe the a Trustee women is still bullying you and sending more and more emails. That is seriously nutty. Can you block her texts and send her emails straight to Junk>delete all.?
I would suggest you continue to not engage her under any circumstances. She needs help by the sound of it. And, is trying the same thing over and over again and trying to get a different result.( a clear indicator of madness) Sad so sorry.

motherinferior · 29/03/2016 14:45

For those of a bosomy nature, the Bravissimo sale is on. I am tempted by a distinctly Hello Rabbi red number.

Collymollypuff · 29/03/2016 19:02

Rose, you have a stalker! Gah!

Belated - very belated - happy Easter to everyone. We had a mahoosive teenage party here - it was on the sunniest day, and much of the garden was tramped into all corners of the house. Happily the sleepover dc then cleaned. I am now being handing ds cooking pans while he acts as chef. Smile

Cremo · 29/03/2016 21:28

Did anyone watch Bake Off Creme de la creme? O.M.G.!! The cakes, the toil, the tears, the Male Judge ( perv)WinkGrinCake

addle · 29/03/2016 22:34

just harking back to agree with ?MM that VA is not huge fun but easily sorted and should be talked about more. took me over a year of increasing discomfort pain to mention it casually at the end of a doctor appt about something else ...

BTM - did you hear the R4 programme on Good Friday talking about ?a post-war dating company that used abbreviations to describe clients - so BTS was better than some and BTM ... better than most ...

And whoever was talking about the joys of an afternoon nap, I've just read a passage in War and Peace in which James Norton's dad [sic] talks about sleep before dinner being gold, while sleep after dinner is merely silver

Rose - agree with Crem - block your stalker.

By Thursday we will be a house of 6 - how am I going to shred with guest teens in the house?

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/03/2016 23:22

In S & B news, I have just ordered a new bra. It's Curvy Kate, Princess, and is the best bra I've ever had - I have it in red, and it is very "Hello Rabbi." Grin My two recently purchased Fantasie bras have died - the wire has worn through the fabric under the boob on both of them (and not the same boob and not quite in the same place). Have never had this happen before - have other Fantasie bras that I have had for years and still going strong - wonder if this is new ploy to use crap fabric to make sure we buy them more often?

In non-S & B news, DH has ordered a new oven.

In sort-of S & B news, my colleague has informed me that he has thrown out the jumper and trousers that I told him when I was pissed didn't suit him. Which I think was a little extreme, even if they didn't suit him. Confused

I am up for drinks/tea/lunch/whatever on Saturday. Not sure I will be terribly good company, but will hopefully be a bit more chirpy by then.

Have booked to go to Spain with DD2 for a week. Will take lots of books and an ipod so that I don't have to talk to her if she is foul.

motherinferior · 30/03/2016 09:47

Oh bugger. Now my mum is also worried about a room on her own, wants to explore other options, etc. I could do without this. I am sure there are – and her consultant has said there are – excellent private homes nearby but I just worry (lazily and arguably selfishly) about going off-piste from all the provision that has been sorted out. She says it’s a problem being at home because lack of ensuite bathroom (she has been sleeping downstairs in her study for over a year. DO NOT MENTION THE FACT THEY HAVE BEEN LIVING IN AN INACCESSIBLE BLOODY HOUSE FOR A DECADE DURING WHICH IT GOT HARDER AND HARDER TO NEGOTIATE.) I don’t think, frankly, that a bathroom will be top of her list of priorities later down the line….

Blackduck · 30/03/2016 11:21

MI :( sorry to hear about the extra stress.

Here motivation levels are on the floor.... I have had enough of being treated with distain and disrespect......
