Here She is really pretty but needs to leave her husband step away from the make up box. I'm assuming this was professorially done Shock the lips are too red and too matte and it's too heavy for a day look.

She always looks so sad.

Confused
ExitPursuedByABear · 18/01/2016 21:42

I think she has problems.

But not with her make up.

WipsGlitter · 18/01/2016 21:44

Oops wrong link here

RedMapleLeaf · 18/01/2016 21:48

I mean this nicely, but what is the point of this thread?

WipsGlitter · 18/01/2016 21:52

It is a style and beauty discussion in the style and beauty section about how not to do your make up / what does not look good for a daytime make-up look.

Shinyshoes2 · 18/01/2016 21:54

At first glance it looked as though she was in a dressing gown

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/01/2016 21:56

Erm. You said she looked sad.

Hardly a S&B issue.

WipsGlitter · 18/01/2016 21:59

Sorry am I not allowed to add an additional comment?

Sheesh

RedMapleLeaf · 18/01/2016 22:00

It seems a personal attack, starting a thread about a specific person's appearance and expression. If you were interested in a discussion about day time make up, why single out a certain person?

CoteDAzur · 18/01/2016 22:11

Fucking thread police Hmm

OP - Yes, she has professional hairdresser & makeup artists. She looks better/happier in some other functions but this one must have been particularly grim.

She does often wear dark red lipstick in the daytime these days, like at her twins' public birthday party at Place d'Armes in Monaco.

I hear what you are saying op. I saw this elsewhere earlier, and thought her make-up looked way too harsh for the occasion. I think she is a striking looking woman, and the makeup just doesn't do her justice at all. It's very aging. I can see why they thought it might work, but it just doesn't does it?

whatdoIget · 18/01/2016 23:00

I quite like her makeup. She does look strikingly sad though.
I wonder how they decide who's allowed to wear white to meet the pope and who isn't? Not sure if that's a s&b question? Probably not 😞

Buttercup443 · 18/01/2016 23:18

Only designated catholic princesses and Queens are given the privilege of wearing white to meet the Pope.

Says the Daily Mail Grin

whatdoIget · 18/01/2016 23:25

Thanks Buttercup! I only looked at the pictures Blush

TheSpottedZebra · 18/01/2016 23:27

It's odd isn't it - the whole Sad Princess thing.
Did she really try and run away before her wedding?
Why does she always look so repulsed by her husband - shed been with him long enough before the wedding, she must have known he was a toad?

Buttercup443 · 18/01/2016 23:32

I've met him when I was a translator in Monaco for a car show and was warned he swings both ways. I think she is beautiful but she does look sad. I heard from people in the city that she did try and leave but was talked back Sad

TheSpottedZebra · 18/01/2016 23:36

He's swung all over Europe i think! In all directions.
Was he charismatic, like people with power often are? Eg Clinton, who I met when I was about 20. And I would. We all would.

A friend met... John Major and said that he was -unexpectedly -incredibly charismatic too.

ExitPursuedByABear · 18/01/2016 23:58

I'm sure I read that she tried to escape.

Sad
iPaid · 19/01/2016 00:25

I agree the make up was too heavy but don't I think Charlene looks sad. I think she absolutely adores being a clothes horse, a princess and the wife of a billionaire.

WhataRacquet · 19/01/2016 00:28

What is wrong with saying she looks sad? If she had a big grin and someone said she looks really happy would people jump on that? ridiculous.

I don't know why some people come on S&B threads Angry

polyhymnia · 19/01/2016 00:53

Off subject but yes agree about John Major who I've met.

ChristineDePisan · 19/01/2016 01:15

Tony Blair was completely swoon-worthy when I met him back when he was the most popular PM we had had for years

Anyway, yes Charlene should have kept running when she had the chance before her wedding. Yes, sometimes her day makeup is too heavy for such fine features and fair colouring. I do feel sorry for her Sad

whatdoIget · 19/01/2016 01:29

I suppose that you probably don't get to be prime minister if you're not able to pretend not to be a power-hungry maniac

Wagglebees · 19/01/2016 07:25

I like her red lip colour. The rest is perhaps a bit heavy but maybe it looked better in person rather than on camera.

She really sobbed all the way through her wedding ceremony. Sad
