Mara you could do me first if you fancy a project

QueenC that bag is SO YOU, very lovely.Smile

Safety a saddle bag is a staple kind of workhorse, Coach quality is very good.

I've just had my first Wine last was on 2 Jan Rioja, my word it tasted amazing! Feeling pleasantly light headed Smile

Received another not into saving paper is he? Boden catalogue:

  1. Full of the usual meh
  2. 13% discount? Shock is this supposed to be exciting? Hmm
Larastheme · 02/02/2016 20:06

Interesting mara , I'd love to see linus, in something more tough, like saint Laurent or marant,

And I agree with everything blingy said, we go through changes every few years, but I wouldn't think dramatic, as in an 180 kind of change, the core remains, but you add or get rid of certian elements in the way you dress, I think I'm going through this right now, it really scares me, I kid you not!, I don't want to commit any mistakes, by convincing myself I can do this or that, while deep inside I know I can't,but do it for the sake of a change, IYKWIM , today I went back to my old work place to help out on something and I wore this marant cardi sweater but in cream and I have better shoulders and I didn't zip it up,have worn a marant white tee under , marant black skinnies and Andrew boots, I felt good, it was something I'm comfortable in, and the compliments I got from old work aquantinces made me feel amazing Grin, when you feel comfortable in something, and I don't mean comfortable as in masking or hiding, but something quintessentially is you, it really shows,

Karcheer · 02/02/2016 20:21

I Absolutely hate 90% of what I wear! I can't wait till this three years is over!

AmberNectarine · 02/02/2016 20:38

I also ordered a selfish mother sweatshirt today shop, only I got the red 'Maman' one. Am idly considering getting a pair of silver Reebok Classics. I've realised I should just embrace my skinnies, sweater, trainers/cowboy boots combo on my off duty days.

OOTD was navy/blue/black patterned bodycon dress (Reiss), opaques and navy courts (R&B). Chanel WOC back in commission (also ugly running rucksack, but the less said about that the better).

mara no lowlands that I could see, though they had some nice bits in the sale. I think I'll get grey lowlands next winter.

shopafrolic · 02/02/2016 20:45

I thought you already had silver classics Amber? Did you see the PONY hi tops I pinned? Unsure....

Drywhitethanks · 02/02/2016 21:07

at the moment I'm feeling really uninspired about my wardrobe. Am sick to death of boots and my winter workwear. I'm desperate to wear shoes with no socks. I have so many lovely clothes skirts, dresses and 7/8 trousers I can wear then.
I've also put on a few pounds after Christmas and am feeling fat Sad 4 weeks no booze made absolutely sod all difference

LinusLovesBretons · 02/02/2016 21:08

lara when I read that I immediately wailed in my head 'But I can't do Tough' Grin

Seriously, I love IM but all the things I have tried just look wrong on me. I think her colour scheme is very often not suited to people who suit cool colours.

I love a lot of Saint Laurent as well so maybe I should give that a try.

safety that Coach saddle bag is gorgeous, especially in the putty colour.

I think I would like to see queenc in something less safe and more showing off her lovely figure. I read the bodycon dress comments and I feel like she can really pull that off.

Not in an overtly sexy way but in a strong feminine way. Smile

QueenC · 02/02/2016 23:08

lara love your post-the love you have for today's outfit shines through and I bet you looked amazing Smile
shop you should so get the trews and embrace your dramatic side
amber ive ummed and aahed over those trainers and even tried them on. Im having a bit of love for trainers and high tops at the moment and trying to resist buying as i don't think they're really me.
dry you are so not fat but it's horrid when you feel that way. Like you I can't wait to get the ankles out.
linus I am safe, you're right. Msybe I should buy the reeboks.....
karcheet you've never really been happy since your diagnosis. I wonder if it'd better to just scrap the autumn and ingenue natural thing and just buy what you want?

Let's get another weekend planned as I really want to see you all. Was hoping to come down before vegas but not looking likely as there's not many available weekends between half term and Easter. So something towards end of April/may would be good.

I love these but not the price

My John Lewis order arrived & following Blingys advice it's all going back. I must have been quite drunk when I ordered it!!!! The navy lace dress is far too bodycon & not very nice material & the less said about the other one the better. The sheepsin slippers are lovely but are a strange fit & are uncomfortable.

shopafrolic · 03/02/2016 07:04

Poorly DS today who's been sick in the night son 48 hours at home now.
Just saw an Instagram saying Atterley.com is relaunching shortly.

Drywhitethanks · 03/02/2016 07:49

Poor you Shop hope DS feel better soon.

OOTD trying not to wear "little skirt, fine knit" combo
Black slim trousers
Black Zara slouchy knit over
White shirt, scalloped collar and cuffs showing doing a C underwood
Tan R and B Chelsea boots

AmberNectarine · 03/02/2016 09:46

No shop, but I have been wanging on about them for AGES. Think I will just get them!

dry sympathies, I am angry because in spite of going to the gym AND doing an ab workout in the evening plus only eating chicken and edamame soup and fruit salad yesterday, I somehow managed to put on half a pound today! How is that even possible?! Hopefully will even out tomorrow!

LinusLovesBretons · 03/02/2016 12:08

this reminded me of MNV! Smile

Stokey · 03/02/2016 13:00

LOL Linus - it's definitely the MNV logo.

Hope Ds feels better Shop. Spookily I was coming on here to link that Mother sweatshirt - I love it (but haven't bought it). Let me know if you do come to the exhibition, it's not too far from me, I'd love to see it. You could train to Kings X, then it's just a couple of stops on the tube to Old St, quite easy. Parking would be a bit of a mission round there.

Love your idea of dressing everyone against the grain Mara, though don't think I could ever do smart/structured.

Scales lie Amber, ignore!

Can picture you as Claire Dry

I was channeling this look today, grey cashmere and black leather, although I have a white and black checked blanket scarf (and no Channel bag). It was going very well until I ordered a latte and realised I'd trailed the blanket scarf across the top of it - classy.

shopafrolic · 03/02/2016 13:03

Linus Smile
My Winging It sweatshirt has arrived. They are such good quality with the added bonus that you're doing something good for charidee. I ordered a medium this time instead of a large as I want to wear it under a blazer. I'm wearing the red Mother one today which is a large - perfect for slouching around in. Which suits me as I'm feeling rotten today. Poor DS is next to me watching Hot Wheels on Netflix. I'll try and carry on reading the Kate Moss, McQueen book that QueenC recommended a while back. Am really enjoying it.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/02/2016 13:13

Just dropping by to say hello.

QueenC I would like to see you in some of the 'quirky looks I love' that you have on your pin. I think those styles would really suit you. Or alternatively, channelling a bit more of your style crush - La Moss.

Shop I like those high tops for you. Plus the trousers might work on your conservative school run if everything else was v plain? Love the Mother sweatshirts.

Dreamqueen welcome and I think everyone else has said it better than me, that this is an inclusive place with good advice if you are seeking your mojo back. I actually liked the look of the Damsel in a dress you linked - I love viscose wool, but sounds like it wasn't great IRL.

Karcheer I agree with QC - your colours and CP haven't helped and seem to have made shopping harder and more stressful. I am not sure about my CP and so am not bothering too much with it.

Impressed by Lib's 10 a year challenge (and Lara's 16?? Do I have that right?). I have been profligate in the sales, pleased with it all though, but means I am going to try for 3 months of frugality - so I probably won't be coming on here much as the temptation is too great Grin

I have bought:

black dress

summer sandals

I have also ordered:
animal print tousers

bag

jumpsuit

shopafrolic · 03/02/2016 13:22

Nice to see you Bernice :)
I love how well you know your style. I can see you in all of that, but especially the jumpsuit, dress and the sandals.
I think I'll see if those trousers ever appear in the sales. Quite £££ for branching into new territory but would only wear them with a grey tee and trainers or sweatshirt and trainers. Will ponder some more. and see what Marsha thinks of them

VivaVegas · 03/02/2016 14:18

Diving back in briefly during my lunch. Not enough hours in the day at the moment! Lots of lovely purchases and also some good discussion around dilemmas with purchases. I'm quite comfortable with my style outside of work and have realised that dresses and blazers/cardigans are best for me on smart work days in winter (hate the trouser shoe sock/tight dilemma!). But in spring /summer I prefer 7/8 black or navy trousers with a variety of tops.
Bought this slouchy long jumper from Hush which is very cosy and jumped on the bandwagon and ordered the red Mother sweatshirt. We are away skiing at half term so both of these will be perfect with skinnies and snow boots for casual dinner and drinks out.
Bought some pleather skinnies at Christmas and liking these so far. The Hush jumper goes well with these and could be good with trainers for a casual look when I can put the boots away.
Right, back to the grindstone!

Dreamqueen · 03/02/2016 14:41

Thanks for the welcome.
Bernice I've toyed with the idea of ordering those sandals, are they comfortable?

QueenC · 03/02/2016 16:32

Did a reiss try on today....

gorgeous colour but too clingy

OP posts:
Stokey · 03/02/2016 16:36

Hello Bernice, love those sandals and dress. I tried the jumpsuit on at the Hush sale but think I'm just too short-waisted to make it work.

I think I'm going to have to get a Mother sweatshirt too, but not sure what size. Thinking about xs but don't want it too tight.

Oh and where were your pleatherskinnies from Viva? My H&M ones need replacing.

QueenC · 03/02/2016 16:40

lovely but a bit too boxy

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 03/02/2016 16:41

Stokey I'm a 12/14 and the Mother sweatshirt in Medium is perfect. The large is super slouchy like wearing your husbands rugby shirt (not that my DH plays any sport) Grin

QueenC · 03/02/2016 16:42

need to be a lot more flat chested that I am

Sadly they didn't have any of the others that you had all linked for me. But my warehouse ones have been dispatched....
