Shop I've just ordered that dress plus another one & a pair of sheepskin slippers. I think joining MNV might be my downfall but at least I'll be well dressed for a change.

Drywhitethanks · 31/01/2016 20:59

welcome to MNV Dream my spend/return rate has rocketed since I've been on here Grin

AmberNectarine · 31/01/2016 21:04

Aaaah, on the sofa with a glass of fizz - happy days!

Not a very eventful weekend - dinner with DH on Friday, got my hair cut yesterday (Caroline Flack style blunt bob) followed by lunch at local pub, then cinema and a run today. Nice to have some down time for once.

Not much shopping to report - ordered this belt, which arrived today - a useful update.

AmberNectarine · 31/01/2016 21:11

I LIE. I ordered this jumpsuit in the NAP sale. Wasn't sure initially but it really grew on me.

KittyHello · 31/01/2016 21:32

Great jumpsuit Amber really can't see you in a maxi floral skirt Shock although I lost my mojo after having dc and I could be found sporting floral Boden dresses, again nothing wrong with them but so not me. Took me ages to accept that I didn't have a need for workwear. I was in a fashion limbo, and then I found MNV Smile

Dream you are most definitely in the right place, please stay. We are all ages here.

Queen way over budget but I think this is your ultimate dress navy Zarita whispers ignore the exposed zip

Zarita look-a-like and much cheaper

a bit of dazzle and shimmer

more dazzle and shimmer

gorgeous colour, not sure if it's Vegas enough

Longislandicetee · 31/01/2016 21:40

Hello! How about this sugarhill boutique dress QueenC?

Longislandicetee · 31/01/2016 21:43

Coast dress which while it's polyester, it's £29!

Longislandicetee · 31/01/2016 21:47

It's lovely but I like an exposed zipWink

QueenC · 31/01/2016 21:54

You are all amazing. Thank you. Some you've linked to are far too bodycon for me and although dh would love me in them i'd spend the whole time uncomfortable. I Love some of the reiss options though and may pop into store tomorrow as ive no idea about sizing. I wasn't going to worry too much about my vegas wardrobe but the others are planning on bodycon/cocktail dresses and I know dh would love me in a dress too. I have one suitable so just need another one or two.

Longislandicetee · 31/01/2016 22:05

Hobbs sequin dress as another option! And it's a shift one. Love the Ralph Lauren one that kitty linked.

I think Shop wore this Karen Millen dress on hols last year and looked fab!

QueenC, I had set my search to shift dresses as I figured body con were more me than you.Grin

Drywhitethanks · 31/01/2016 22:14

Kitty I had a compulsive Boden floral tunic buying phase after DCs Grin

QueenC · 01/02/2016 07:24

Even some shift dresses are too 'grown up' for me. Remember the lk bennett dress that I had and always felt wrong in?

Dreamqueen · 01/02/2016 07:46

Memo to self. stop clicking on links & buying! The 10 item challenge is a distant memory. Planning a frugal February.

Longislandicetee · 01/02/2016 09:04

Dream put the mouse down lovey! Grin as you're new, I will share my 3 year theory with you....

Every decade we live from our 20s onwards has a beginning, a middle and an end, each period lasting roughly 3 years. In this period, we have a phase in our lives, or a lifestyle and in order to look our best and feel our best, it's important that we dress according to the lifestyle/period we are in. It means that your style changes roughly every 3 years and when the changes are big life events - motherhood, menopause etc it can be a shock because you don't know who you are anymore. So, it's important to know what your body shape is, what colours suit you and your lifestyle to get the clothes for that period of time that will suit you.

At some point on this thread, all of us have been "changing lifestyle" where we have lost our style mojo but being on here will really help you. The fact that we are all different heights, sizes, body shapes etc means that it has helped me see what suits other people, and also what suits me. Also, the more people know you, the easier it will be for them to suggest something that will suit you and your lifestyle, and your budget.

We have a mantra of not keeping something unless it's absolutely perfect and so while you will become good pals with the delivery guys, you will also get to know the post office folks well.Grin

So don't despair! None of us arrived on the thread having our shit together but give it a few months and you will too!Smile

AmberNectarine · 01/02/2016 09:07

still does not have shit together

shopafrolic · 01/02/2016 09:21

The NaP group are hiring if anyone is interested....... shame it's all full time otherwise I might have gone for something.

shopafrolic · 01/02/2016 09:22

B@ll@cks Amber

LinusLovesBretons · 01/02/2016 09:31

That is a great post blingy! Shame it's too long to put on a MNV slogan tee. Wink

AmberNectarine · 01/02/2016 09:41

I still make plenty of mistakes shop!

QueenC · 01/02/2016 10:32

Great post blingy. And so true about the 3 year thing. For me the 3 year thing hasn't just been lifestyle changes but also physical changes. I'm just entering that softening premenopausal stage. The jaw line and round the middle are not as firm and taut as they once were and the middle was never very taut!

MarshaBrady · 01/02/2016 12:21

Lovely post Blingy

I've had periods where I lost something of me. I too love the differences on here it helps me shape what I like for me - whilst seeing what is fab for everyone.

KittyHello · 01/02/2016 13:51

Again, great post Blingy as I said upthread it took ages, 3 years? to find my fashion mojo.

Dry Grin when I first started lurking on S&B and before joining you guys here I was all set to buy a Joules tunic and leggings as I thought that was what was good to wear. *Disclaimer, they are fine items but are not for me!

Queen I think you CAN do bodycon, you keep fit and exercise and look after yourself, you'll look great.

Stokey · 01/02/2016 16:24

Ooh some journalist jobs there Shop... annoyingly the freelance one is French speaking - Zut alors!

Loving the dresses for QueenC, especially the starry Markus Lupfer one, expensive but gorgeous. You've inspired me to check out the Reiss sale as I could still do with a dress for the spring wedding.

Fab post Blingy, I think I've finally sussed out SAHM clothes but find it hard not to get bored by them. I may need to get a job to sort out my wardrobe choices!

And thanks for the Kidzania tips Lara, I'm definitely going to try and go.

Very disappointed - Dh is going to NYC in April and had said I could try and come before we knew the dates. Turns out he is flying on DD2's birthday and slap in the middle of the school holidays so there is no way I'll be able to go, booo.

Drywhitethanks · 01/02/2016 16:46

great post WiseOne.... Problem is I often think I've found the perfect thing, cut off labels, wear and then regret.....I'm getting better. WWMS (" what would Marsha say) and StSS ("speak to stylist Shop) and if I'm feeling brave LtL ("listen to Lara) are my mantras.

BUT......got a surprise tax rebate today Grin guess what my heart is saying Hmm ..........

shopafrolic · 01/02/2016 17:04

It's saying StSS Dry Grin
I just booked our holiday Grin Grin Grin DH nearly had a coronary at the £££ but that'll teach him to be a moody git :)
