I am not dressed if I am not wearing earrings.

Going to the gym, or to the corner shop, is acceptable.

Anything further afield, or where I might be seen by people, I must have earrings.

Greenteandchives · 02/01/2016 17:24

Unless I am wearing a patterned garment, I never wear more than two colours. That includes shoes and accessories.
It can be very restricting. Mostly I wear black tops and boots or shoes, with coloured jeans.

Orangeanddemons · 02/01/2016 17:25

Leggings and tunics.Never! Or even leggings tbh.

blibblibs · 02/01/2016 17:28

Leggings & open toed footwear, and tbh it should probably apply to most of the population Grin

timelytess · 02/01/2016 17:30

No patterned trousers. They should be banned by law.

WitchWay · 02/01/2016 17:31

Earrings every day, even digging the garden - I feel naked without them

I only really like black footwear, but have bags & belts in other colours

Trousers have to be black, grey or jeans

GothicRainbow · 02/01/2016 17:32

Wear baggy tops/a line tops with bootcut jeans, I have to wear them with skinny jeans only.

ChipInTheSugar · 02/01/2016 17:37

Can't have my bra straps showing ( under vest tops etc). Just can't do it.

WipsGlitter · 02/01/2016 17:39

No tops longer than the jacket.

weebarra · 02/01/2016 17:41

No gold embellishments, eg on bags, jackets, shoes. Hate them.

SkibadeeDoodle · 02/01/2016 17:45

All my undies match - because they are all black Grin. I have tried so many times to brighten up my 'lingerie' collection with colourful, silky, lacy things...but DH doesn't give a shit/even notice and I always slide back to my nice, comfy, black cotton undies.

I am also anal about matching metals. I can do silver or gold, but never both at the same time.

I cannot ever have matching shoes and handbag, or matching necklace and bracelet. It makes me feel like my Nan.

No high necks ever, under any circumstances. I'm tall and skinny, but have big norms, so high neck = instant bossomy matron.

SkibadeeDoodle · 02/01/2016 17:46

*norks

Foodefafa · 02/01/2016 17:47

Can't do gold anything. Jewellery, clothing, hardware on bags, buckles on boots - has to be silver.

Can't wear anything white/beige/cream/greige - makes me feel insipid and ghostly.

Can't wear French manicures or any pale nail polishes. Vibrant or dark colours only.

Can't wear black handbags, have yet to buy one in my 35 years.

Can't leave the house without at least one animal print item Blush.

Can't wear anything with an obvious brand name or slogan. Ick.

Charitygirl1 · 02/01/2016 17:49

Must wear a belt with jeans.

And I do follow some of the House of Colour 'rules' (self- imposed because they work for me, before the HoC-bashers start screeching) - ie I wear my colours and I don't wear silver.

christinarossetti · 02/01/2016 17:53

Any hint of animal print, metallic sheen, vest tops, polyester, acrylic jumpers all set my teeth on edge.

I also find teal or burgandy tights baffling.

areyoubeingserviced · 02/01/2016 17:54

Agree about earrings defo feel naked without them
Can't wear more than two colours at a time
Only wear black or red bras
Don't ever wear red nail varnish on my fingernails, but do on my toes.
Have to wear perfume, even to the gym
Only wear trainers to the gym

hugoagogo · 02/01/2016 17:57

No gold anything!
No black and navy.
I always have earrings in, I only ever take them out to put other ones in. I don't really consider them part of my outfit, more part of me.
No cowl necks, or polo necks.
No pointy toed shoes or heels.
No big handbags.
No scarves indoors!
No fur
No bare bare feet- hosiery must be worn.

Judydreamsofhorses · 02/01/2016 17:59

Always matching bra and pants, always painted finger and toenails, and always red lipstick. (Unless it's a day like today, where I showered and put on fresh pyjamas. Ah, holidays.)

herecomesthsun · 02/01/2016 18:00

er life is too short for rules

Charitygirl1 · 02/01/2016 18:02

Oh yes - no cowl necks, no Bretons, no a-line skirts, no stilettos, no intentional cleavage

BrendaandEddie · 02/01/2016 18:02

my office is scorchio
I am bare foot most of the year - apart from Dec - march

Strapless dresses, no idea why I think they look lovely on other people but just avoid them myself. Ditto belts as an accessory, and try and avoid buying anything where a belt is needed. Again no idea why.
Long (as in ankle/ floor length) dresses or skirts unless of the cocktail variety and rarely then. Maxi dresses especially.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 02/01/2016 18:04

No gold / yellow metal whatsoever
Finger and toenails never the same colour
Never wear glasses outside the house unless medically unable to wear contact lenses.
No bra straps showing
No heels higher than about an inch
No scarves unless the temperature is below zero
No dangly earrings unless hair is up.
Fitted tops with loose bottoms, never both closely fitted or both loose.

BrendaandEddie · 02/01/2016 18:05

if there are belt hooks, for me a BELT MUST BE WORN, otherwise it looks shoddy

OP posts:
MizK · 02/01/2016 18:06

I don't ever do bare arms or strapless anything. Toes always polished usually in bright red or plum, but I don't like fingers and toes to match. Struggle mixing black clothing with anything other than white or grey so don't wear much black 😊
