I am going for

  1. Cut and colour. Not everyone colours their hair some of us only when we needed to at about 42
  2. Wrap dresses and big tits

yeh I'll be crying in to my pot noodle in about six weeks, about all the things I threw out on the advice of mumsnetters. I know this deep down and I'm still doing it.

MuchasSmoochas · 30/12/2015 17:46

"No silicone" advice. Silicone me right up please, coat each hair in lovely stuff and watch me shine.

SirChenjin · 30/12/2015 17:47

YY to silicone. I add coconut oil for extra shine - you can see each hair shaft gasping for breath, and that's how I like it.

susannahmoodie · 30/12/2015 17:48

So what is acceptable then?

NoMore314 · 30/12/2015 17:50

getting it all absolutely right, instinctively.

SirChenjin · 30/12/2015 17:51

Wear what you like, use the make up that you think suits you, do want you want to your hair - that seems acceptable to me Smile

MuchasSmoochas · 30/12/2015 17:56

You got it No More.

Love VB and her lovely husband.

And don't start me on the "people look better without makeup" brigade. Unless DD7 has applied their makeup, all people look better with it. There is no room for dubiety here. If you don't care for it/can't be faffed that's fine but don't deny it!

mudandmayhem01 · 30/12/2015 17:56

I think also don't be rude about people who don't give a toss, ie fleeces, leggings, crocs. Fashion is a hobby that isn't compulsory and one I indulge in on a part time basis!

That annoys me too.

mudandmayhem01 · 30/12/2015 17:59

All people or all women look better in makeup?

NoMore314 · 30/12/2015 18:01

Oh I look better with make up!!! I'm not covered in red flaky scales but yes in my mid forties I need a little extra assistance.

TaliZorah · 30/12/2015 18:01

All people. Male actors/models wear it for that reason!

Your probably right tali! not that I know any men in real life who wear it ( apart from when I was a teenage goth/ into glam rock) Strangely I find the groomed look men very unattractive now

nancy75 · 30/12/2015 18:06

Curly girl made my naturally very curly and quite nice hair look like it had been involved in a terrible chip fat incident

MuchasSmoochas · 30/12/2015 18:09

Yes all people. A man with guyliner, yum.

NoMore314 · 30/12/2015 18:09

I used to work in an office wear there was a pseudo intellectual set who looked down on wearing anything other than slacks and v-necks. And court shoes. Twas awful. I felt like Gwen Stefani. They thought they were above it all (fashion) but the truth was they just couldn't get it right. And no crime in that, but don't look down on my super power. :-p

NoMore314 · 30/12/2015 18:10

It was de rigeur in 1990. Our head boy wore eye liner. He was a great big ride.

TaliZorah · 30/12/2015 18:15

IME its the I don't give crappers who are most likely to be sneery, not the ones who love a bit of slap and shopping.

Yeah mine too. I've found a lot of them have to put down people interested in fashion to validate their decision not to bother

LaurieFairyCake · 30/12/2015 18:20

People are always saying on here fatties shouldn't wear leggings. I concede that no one should wear them as trousers but I wear them with dresses/tunics every day for work and look fine.

I'm very norky so I have to wear camisoles with wrap or V neck dresses or there's too much cleavage for work. Apparently I'm not supposed to be wearing scoops or boat necks with my norks as it gives me a matronly bosom. However, I wear them most days as even with camisoles wrap dresses can be too revealing.

BrendaandEddie · 30/12/2015 18:21

its the way the long top clings to wider hips/leggings that IMO makes them inadvisable

Blazers, loafers.

Both ugly.

BrendaandEddie · 30/12/2015 18:23
