Done with Lush's henna (Caca rouge). I look like I am wearing a Guantanemo Bay uniform on my head.

The girl in the shop DID warn me it was bright, but would I listen? Oh no. I was all 'BRING IT ON, I want to look VIBRANT for the autumn'.

I used to use one of them and looked like Toyah. The good news is that it toned down after about 8 hours.

So, stay indoors, go to bed early, wake up and check... then panic!

You poor thing! It might calm down over the next 24 hours - have a look on the Lush website for ingredients. If it has indigo in it, that takes a while to develop. You can wear a hat in the meantime? If you still don't like it in a day or two, try the caca marron. Lovely warm auburney colour, no orange and you can apply it over the top of the current henna. The folks that said try and strip it with heavy duty shampoo.... to the best of my knowledge, henna stays put. Post nuclear apocalypse there'll be the cockroaches and henna-ed hair.....

Trust me when I say is is really, really, REALLY bright, yet somehow not so much as to look either cool or sexy.

There is a remedy for removing henna online which uses alcohol and mineral oil.

If you were looking for more red/brown you might need to visit a hairdresser I think.
