Ordered some boots from Dune in the sale, they are these:

I really like them, they fit well and I can wear them with jeans and skirts. But then I had a thought - are they mum boots?? If so, they are going back Grin

Nope, they're biker boots, you're all right. Wink

IWantFairyWings · 12/10/2015 15:04

Hmm, borderline for me. Don't ever wear them with jeans and a fleece!

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 15:06

I don't wear fleeces but do wear skinnies!

OP posts:
AFewGoodWomen · 12/10/2015 15:08

No, they look lovely.

HixieRice · 12/10/2015 15:22

Fine with skinnies, just not under boot cut Grin
I know this has been done to death, but I think anything can look mumsy if you like it, buy it, then stop thinking about whether it goes with the rest of your outfit.

Excuse that bit of analysis, I'm just trying to figure out myself why none of my clothes, footwear and coats "go" together (and DD's now - sigh)

WipsGlitter · 12/10/2015 15:27

Borderline - it's the heel height.

Bargain price though!

Doobigetta · 12/10/2015 18:58

I think they're borderline, I'm afraid. The heel is just a tiny bit too high, and there's something a bit too clean-cut about them. As if they've aimed at a nod to biker style without frightening the ladies of High Wycombe.

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 19:04

I wanted sort of biker style but not too clumpy/heavy looking.

Are you saying these are neither one thing or another??

OP posts:
MotherBluestocking · 12/10/2015 19:07

I think they're fine. And a great reduction!

BorisStoleMyWig · 12/10/2015 19:10

I'm with the others. A bit borderline for me.

DickDewy · 12/10/2015 19:15

I think they're mum boots trying hard to be biker boots.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/10/2015 19:17

They are boots. You like them. You are a mum. Keep the damn boots, if they suit your lifestyle and go well with the clothes you want to wear. It honestly depends how you wear them as to whether or not they'll be okay for what YOU want to use them for/look like. No boot is in itself a 'Mum boot' except on MN (and everyone on here is a loon!). Grin

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 19:19

I've just got a paranoid fear that I don't want to look frumpy!

OP posts:
MitziKinsky · 12/10/2015 19:21

Hmmm...borderline. It depends on how mummsy the rest of you is.

I doubt anyone will notice these boots when you are wearing them.

MitziKinsky · 12/10/2015 19:22

Actually, I bet they look a lot better in RL. With skinny jeans and an over-sized jumper they would look good.

Scarletforya · 12/10/2015 19:24

Yea, they're not biker boots. Too high. They're getting into Mum boot territory I'm afraid.

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 19:24

I also wanted to wear them with knit dresses and thick tights. Do you think they'll work?

OP posts:
bishboschone · 12/10/2015 19:33

The heel is too high for my liking . They would look odd with skinny jeans in my opinion .

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 19:37

What about these: (MUCH more money though):

Insanely expensive. There must be a middle ground, if you've been talked out of the original ones.

Do you definitely want calf length?

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 20:00

Yes I think so. I want them more to wear with skirts and dresses, I've got boots to wear with skinnies.

OP posts:
bishboschone · 12/10/2015 20:17

I have some ugg biker boots from a few years ago which look nice with jumper dresses etc .. I'll try and find them .

Runningupthathill82 · 12/10/2015 20:21

Sorry, they're mum boots. Not clompy enough for biker boots, and with a too-high heel...

busyboysmum · 12/10/2015 20:24

I think they're a bit too neat looking verging into mum boot territory.

How about these?
