Ordered some boots from Dune in the sale, they are these:

www.dunelondon.com/rachelle-buckle-trim-mid-block-heel-leather-biker-boot-0073508770001484/#review-anchor

I really like them, they fit well and I can wear them with jeans and skirts. But then I had a thought - are they mum boots?? If so, they are going back Grin

Are mum boots frumpy boots? Please explain.

WipsGlitter · 13/10/2015 14:14

Yes, it is a mumsnet term for what some people consider to be frumpy boots generally worn with bootcuts and a fleece.

I consider these boots but others may differ.

And these

Quornmakesmefart · 13/10/2015 14:16

Sorry dancer don't know what I did there! Meant these

Also these look good but I don't know what the brand is like...

clairedunphy · 13/10/2015 14:48

Just lost my post... Does anyone know if Dune boots tend to come up small? If I'm normally a 4 to 4.5 should I order a 5?

Ta

SuckingEggs · 13/10/2015 15:48

Wips thanks

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/10/2015 18:37

Myrtle V well said.

I wear stuff from both Clarks and M&S. I also wear stuff from Vivienne Westwood and various other places - who cares?

Sometimes the S&B boards make me really cross!

herecomesthsun · 13/10/2015 18:45

I like Ash. I like Clarks. I like heels and I like clumpy biker boots. And I'm a mum and I'm over 50. Life is too short Grin.

Floisme · 13/10/2015 18:59

Maybe but do you live in Paris? Grin

busyboysmum · 13/10/2015 20:06

Ha ha. Do you think she meant to be so rude Wink

Openup41 · 13/10/2015 21:00

I would wear these boots with fitted jeans/trousers and a slim lined mac/coat. Keep the style simple and non fussy and it should work.

Dancergirl · 13/10/2015 21:30

Thanks quorn I actually really like the Faith pair you linked to.

Faith! I used to buy shoes from them years ago (from Top Shop I think), I didn't know they were still around.

claire I've found Dune to be pretty much true to size.

clairedunphy · 13/10/2015 21:45

Thanks Dancer, now I don't know whether to go for a 4 or 5, annoying being in between...

SuckingEggs · 13/10/2015 23:22

I wear M&S, too, among many other labels. Didn't realise that was not the done thing - I'm not shallow enough to care.

OP, I saw some gorgeous French Sole bikers last year but they were too pricey. Not sure if it's worth having a look there to see if they're back. My phone is playing up so I can't check. They were superb.

Dancergirl · 14/10/2015 14:00

Well, if you're not bored yet - an update Grin

Ordered Dune Peggy boots, ok but a bit meh about them. Still got original pair at home to compare.

But I then made a surprise purchase - was shopping in John Lewis today and saw these:

www.johnlewis.com/store/ugg-damien-ruched-buckle-detail-ankle-boots-black-leather/p2221192?navAction=jump&_requestid=8205796

I bought them Smile They're a bit longer in length, fit perfectly and they can replace my knackered old pair of black knee high from Hobbs.

I've now decided that calf boots are neither one thing or the other. These Ugg ones are a better length.

Those look nice (don't know why site calls them ankle boots, though).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/10/2015 17:46

I like those.

I find that Dune come up big.

bishboschone · 14/10/2015 18:02

I like them and think they will look great with skirts or dresses .. Well done ??Smile
