Ordered some boots from Dune in the sale, they are these:

www.dunelondon.com/rachelle-buckle-trim-mid-block-heel-leather-biker-boot-0073508770001484/#review-anchor

I really like them, they fit well and I can wear them with jeans and skirts. But then I had a thought - are they mum boots?? If so, they are going back Grin

I'm rather partial to a biker style boot.
I wouldn't wear these these, to me they are a bit on the frumpy side, but they are inoffensive so if you like them buy them.
If the rest of your outfit is fabulous no one will look too much at your feet Grin

Thingsthatmakeugoummmm · 12/10/2015 21:35

Love the CAT ones busyboysmum! Going to have to order them!!

AnyFucker · 12/10/2015 21:38

Mum boots

It's the smooth neatness I am afraid

Quornmakesmefart · 12/10/2015 21:54

I agree they're verging on mum boots.

What about these?

Twinklestein · 12/10/2015 22:38

I don't generally like Dune and I'm not massive on biker boots, but as bikers go they're very stylish. They look like some Valentinos this season.

I see a lot of dumpy mums wearing clumpy bikers thinking they look cool when really they just look frumpy. In England that is, in Paris women have the sense not to try to look Lemmy from Motorhead.

At the end of the day you're taking style advice from women who wear Clark's and M&S.

Dancergirl · 12/10/2015 22:54

Good point twinkle

Not keen on the Cat ones, just too clumpy for me. Have found these though also from Dune:

and also:

nope these aren;t mum boots

ash and their endless copies are the new mum boots

AnyFucker · 12/10/2015 23:21

Oi twinkle, who are you saying wears Clark and M+S ? Grin Shock

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 12/10/2015 23:24

The last Dune ones you linked are by far the best op.

Very similar to some I've got, the wider top always looks better, and the heel height is just right.

RachelZoe · 12/10/2015 23:25

Those are straight mum boots I'm afraid.

simpson · 12/10/2015 23:28

Really love the boots Quorn has linked but they are out of stock in my size Sad and I am skint

ovenchips · 12/10/2015 23:31

Those UGG biker style boots linked to upthread are seriously nice and IMO the best ones by far on thread so far.

hackedoffnow · 12/10/2015 23:32

Mum - prob why they are selling them off so cheap.

WaggleBee · 13/10/2015 00:21

At the end of the day you're taking style advice from women who wear Clark's and M&S.

Speak for yourself.

First ones are very borderline, too smooth as AnyFucker says and the front/foot bit is too long, top too narrow, heel neither one thing or the other.

Second ones are better but stupidly overpriced. You can definitely find some just like those, but better, for a lot less.

I like Dune but find you have to try their boots on to really judge. I ordered what I thought were some low heeled bootie things from there and when they arrived they were shiny boats with a Mum boot heel. Nope.

Get into a store if you can.

WaggleBee · 13/10/2015 00:24

I like the Peggy ones in your second link. Much better shape with the wider top and shorter toe.

WaggleBee · 13/10/2015 00:26

Really like the ones Quorn linked to. Only available in a size 4 though.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 13/10/2015 07:46

The ones dancergirl linked to are much nicer.
(And ignore the charming comment from from Twinkle)

maxxytoe · 13/10/2015 08:08

those are mum boots if I ever did see them

pictish · 13/10/2015 08:17

The ones in your second link are both nice and i would wear either.
Wouldn't touch the ones in your first as the gold metalwear makes them instantly naff and middle aged.

maybemyrtle · 13/10/2015 08:32

Re the original pair posted. They fit well, you really like them and they work well with skirts and trousers. However, the opinions of a handful of strangers with unknown style credentials who you will never see in real life has put you off them. Seriously?? Trust your judgement!

Next it will be a "I've lost my sense of style" thread.

Floisme · 13/10/2015 08:40

Well said Myrtle.

bishboschone · 13/10/2015 08:58

Thank you oven chips .. I love them ... Fwiw I hate clarks shoes . They are just a little bit too shiny and perfect for my liking !

Dancergirl · 13/10/2015 09:22

Yes good point myrtle, I think if I had been 100% about them I wouldn't have posted, and also I think I was swayed by the price.

I might order the Dune Peggy ones and compare.

OP posts:
Quornmakesmefart · 13/10/2015 10:28

OP what about these?

Still a bit of a heel but chunky enough to not be mumsy, I think...

polyhymnia · 13/10/2015 11:50

I'm afraid I don't like Dine either (or Clark's) and the original ones are a bit neat and fussy for my taste. Plus I don't like high heeled boots!
But, if you like them, go for it.
Fwiw, my favourites posted above were the Ugg ones. Nice and plain.
