Gone right off the dress. Looking for another one today.

Would like a white tea dress. If I see one online is there any chance it could be delivered by 10 sept?

I have a fall back dress . My engagement dress, white stretch cotton with pink flowers.

Not really panicking...well just a little.

JanineMelnitzGlasses · 29/08/2015 13:13

coast?

5madthings · 29/08/2015 13:21

Have you looked at lindybop?

Also phase eight?

Scarydinosaurs · 29/08/2015 13:23

Budget?

Dowser · 29/08/2015 17:08

Thanks. Sorry was rushing out and didn't have time to write too much £100 tops.

Been to two coast stores, Fenwick's, which took in ted baker, phase eight, jigsaw, reiss, Hobbs, monsoon .

Nada

My engagement dress is a 50 s style. To be honest seen nothing as nice as mine. Husband to be all in white so would have preferred all white but choices are limited. Time running out. Wedding 3 weeks today.

Plane leaves in 2.5 weeks...eek!

There are quite a few white tea dresses that are within budget at house of Fraser. Their delivery time is usually good too.

AlisonWunderland · 29/08/2015 17:32

It's worth taking a look at the Oxfam site where they sell not only dresses donated to their shops but also new ones fron designers (normally last seasons etc)

Have you looked at the wedding sections in monsoon, bhs and Debenhams, they had short 50's styles recently?

Is your current one a definite no, could it be altered at all to make it more like you want?

Dowser · 29/08/2015 21:06

Two left, it's already been altered. Had the breast pads taken out and it still looks huge on the top. I just don't feel nice it. I feel better in one of my ordinary day dresses which says a lot.

You've all come up with some brilliant ideas. I've done the rounds of coast, debenhams, Fenwick's and monsoon and where we shopped today there wasn't a house of Fraser but online I fell in love with this chi chi dress

www.chichiclothing.com/products/Chi-Chi-Belle-Dress.html

In one description of it it said it had a padded bust. So did mine so back to square one. I just dont need padding!

But I love the dress.

Wide range of alternative dresses in there.

Elsie's attic might also be worth a look.

That oxfam link given earlier has some fabulous 1950's/60's vintage dresses (& some 80's monstrosities Grin ). Some over budget but some close to budget for eg
www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/bridal/wedding-dresses/vintage-circa-1960s-handmade-white-short-wedding-dress-with-detachable-train-hd_100522682

There's a dress for £12 on the first page (lovely for the right shaped person)

Dowser · 29/08/2015 22:57

Some fab ideas ladies. Thank you all so much.

Tk maxx had nothing. Lindybop neither and the Vivienne of holloway appear to be in satin which is you're a 14-16 like me I think makes you look bigger.

I like the John Lewis Jolie moi one and there's also another similar one. We have a John Lewis 50 miles away. Might persuade oh that we need to take a drive up there.

Shall peruse the website.

( my eyes are crossed with all the searches I've done.)

Ariella at House of Fraser? My white tea dress wedding frock was one of theirs. Gorgeous, cost £150.

Dowser · 29/08/2015 23:01

MythreadYou fall back dress is similar to this. No bow and no sleeves and pinks and lavenders , stretch cotton , light and summery.
