What's your opinion of this dress - especially petite women.

I'm just 5ft tall, size 10. Will be wearing 3inch high heels.
Can this dress work? Technically it is A-line shape so I think it could work.

The dress is couture - about £1500 preloved and it'll have to be shipped in from the states. It's not available in the UK. It's a risk but looks amazing. What you think??

Excellent choice OP, beautiful dress!

I don't love it. It looks like it's got caught on some brambles.

I think the 3 inch heels might just about let you get away with a big skirt. Any shorter and you risk looking as if your legs have been amputated at the knee. I've seen photos of a 4'11" bride in a strapless big skirted dress and thought, "why did nobody stop you from buying it?"

Is that to the first dress or the one the OP actually end up buying? Hmm

It was a process of elimination going wedding dress shopping!! I am not a fan of lace but I tried on this lace dress and it looked lovely. However, the lace pattern was very small and the overall look whimsical. That's when I realised its not the material - it was the shape that I found was key. Hence I found another similar shaped dress but in a slightly heavier, satin fabric. Understated yet opulent and have me length!! That's the Justin Alexander dress I posted earlier. The train on the dress moves like liquid. And the structure of the dress is very forgiving for my heavier thighs! The material makes a world of difference. I tried on Thai silk but it just wasn't as forgiving or comfortable when bending/sitting. Process of elimination ladies!

Agree with the bog roll comments for the first one. Sorry (mind you, I got married in a meringue moons ago, so hey ho). Your final choice is lovely and more aligned with what I'd go for it I was to marry DH now.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! My final dress of choice is a completely different one to what I would have chosen in my 20s!! But it's a fab dress.probably I could wear it again if the train was cut off! :))
