Oh and if anyone is interested in the Missha Time revolution night repair science activator borabit ampoule (!) I have one that is around 70% left. It was opened about 2 months ago and shelf life symbol states 9 months from opening. I found out it has retinol in (although a miniscule amount) so I don't want to chance it with my current routine. I actually really like this ampoule too Sad

£15 inc postage

Also, I'm testing the ljh vita propolis ampoule and I think I'm reacting to it Angry (that's how my face is looking at the moment). If it doesn't work out it could be coming to a mumsnet near you...

lelf79 · 18/01/2016 22:55

Hi mowglik
Thanks for your help!!

I have dry normal to dry/dehydrated skin, more to the dry side of things! I'm 34 so signs of ageing already :(
Most of all I follow C. Hirons routine and therefore I'm looking for a good acid toner, a good moisturiser, serum possibly?
I know the mask are something to look for out there but what brands and types?
Would be great to hear some suggestions x

mowglik · 19/01/2016 14:50

neshi I'm of similar age to you but have very oily skin so my recommendations may not be the best, but based on my experience and reviews I can recommend the following:

acid toners - I use Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid and Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead power liquid. Since you have dry skin the AHA is probably more of interest - I use this and like it as its a light weight liquid. The only negative is the smell of this one - smells like fish to me, though apparently not everyone smells it.

Moisturiser - I use retinols and acid most days so I am using heavier creams than I would otherwise. I really like rosette ceramide gel as it contains ceramides etc which help repair the skin barrier after acids. Another popular one for dry skin is Mr Honey and miss Flower cream and also the essence oil. I have the cream and its a waxy cream which smells gorgeous.

Serums - I use lots of ampoules rather than serums as I like to layer a few and these seem to be lighter. For dry skin I would recommend LJH Propolis ampoule. Really brightens and softens my skin.

Sleeping masks - def a good idea for dry skins as they seal in moisture overnight. I like bioessence sleeping beauty mask, laneige water sleeping mask or sulwhasoo revitalising overnight mask. Sleeping masks all do the same job (which is to act as an occlusive layer to keep moisture in) but some will suit your skin better than others.

Re shops - not sure what is available in thailand but if its the same as malaysia there was quite a few - watsons is like boots and you will find brands like secret key, bioessence, and other cheaper brands. Sasas is a bit like sephora they sell lots of cosmetics and higher brands like dr jart, sulwhasoo etc. Also shops like etude house, tony moly, skinfood are all worth a look.

Sorry its a huge post! Any other Qs just ask

neshi · 19/01/2016 17:10

mowglik you're a star!!
That's exactly the type of advice I was looking for!
Thanks so much for taking the time, it was great xx

mowglik · 19/01/2016 20:29

No worries neshi, lucky you, I would love to go back to Malaysia and do another huge shop knowing what I know now about the AB routine! Have fun shopping Smile

teawamutu · 21/01/2016 20:56

How quick is Jolse to the UK, does anyone know?

mintbiscuit · 21/01/2016 21:13

Maybe just over a week? 2 at most.

mintbiscuit · 21/01/2016 21:21

Although I might just have been lucky with my orders! Grin

teawamutu · 21/01/2016 21:27

Thanks! And they mark the package as a gift or low value, and is that right? (roll on pay day...)

mintbiscuit · 21/01/2016 21:58

Yep. Make sure you post what you end up hauling. I'm on a no buy at the mo so will have to live vicariously through others!

teawamutu · 22/01/2016 17:07

My Kawaii Panda box arrived!

Contents:

  1. Benton Snail Bee
  2. Tony Moly lip patch (?)
  3. It's Skin macaroon lip balm, grape flavour
  4. Etude House My Lash Serum (?)
  5. 3w Clinic Collagen Brightening Emulsion

Plus two Benton Snail Bee masks I wasn't expecting.

Not bad for £22!

Off to find out how you use lip patch and eyelash serum...

GeordieBadger · 25/01/2016 11:55

Guys, I just been outbid on TONYMOLY Egg Pore. Boo hoo. I'd like to try it. Is it as good as people say?

GeordieBadger · 25/01/2016 12:11

Also, if you need to wash it off after 10-15mins, how does it work as a primer?

Thanks.

jackiekatu · 26/01/2016 20:58

Can I have some recommendations for cleansing oil please ? Tia

mintbiscuit · 26/01/2016 21:31

jackie what kind of skin type do you have? I have skin tending toward the dry side and so far have found DHC cleansing oil to be too drying. Same for skinfood black sugar oil. So if you have skin on the combo oily side I reckon these might be good for you. I've got illi total aging cleansing oil to try next which I am hoping will be better for my skin type (have read really good reviews about it).

mintbiscuit · 26/01/2016 21:34

teawamutu would love a review on the lash serum and 3w brightening emulsion!

I've just got samples of the snail bee essence to try and am hoping it lives up to the reviews.

mowglik · 26/01/2016 21:42

I have oily skin and love DHC cleansing oil, in fact I think once I have used up my innisfree Apple oil will only use DHC going forward.

I agree it is a little drying which is good news for oily skins not so much for dry skinned people

mintbiscuit · 26/01/2016 22:05

mowglik have you found any oil cleansers that are too oily? Thinking what doesn't work for you might for me!

jackiekatu · 27/01/2016 08:19

Minibiscuit I have normal skin all over except the Tzone Tia

GeordieBadger · 27/01/2016 08:40

No one familiar with the primer I mentioned?

mowglik · 27/01/2016 09:49

georgiebadger I've never heard of egg pore primer I thought it was a cleanser? I might have a sample of it you can have will have a look, can't remember if I used it or not

mint I have innisfree juicy Apple which is really light and not really heavy enough for my oily skin in winter if that makes sense. I used a bottle during summer and it was perfect then. It's almost full so if you wanted to swap for something to try it would be happy to offload it!

GeordieBadger · 27/01/2016 10:02

Thanks mowglik!

I'm just starting to experiment with Korean beauty products. What do you recommend as my first purchase? (I'm a student on a budget).
