First I had a Jovan floral eau de cologne, that I can't remember the name of but it had a primrose yellow box and smelt primarily of freesias.
Flirted with Bodyshop's White Musk
Then Revlon's Xia Xiang - loved this.
Again flirted with Nina Ricci's Fleur de fleurs but didn't really work for me
Briefly, John Paul Gaultier's Sun Moon and Stars and Chloe Narcisse (I think) - I bought these as a set of miniatures from a market perfume seller, along with my next love, Elizabeth Taylor's Black Pearls, which I've stuck with ever since.

I can't find another perfume that smells nice on me. I have acidic skin, heavy musks smell bad, florals go acidic and smell like cat's wee - the only ones that smell nice are spicy heavy florals, like Black Pearls (gardenia and rose with some spice). I've since tried other rose-based ones, since that seems to be the common link for perfumes that work on my skin but still haven't found one that works yet. Luckily I have still got some Black Pearls - but the fixative is gone, and so have some of the top notes, luckily they wear off quite quickly leaving the spicy base and middle notes which still smell good.

Even DH could remember what the Rive Gauche packaging looked like.It might be eighties but its still very striking . I too have the odd spritz and when I smell it on DD1 it takes me back to some of my happiest years .
