I forgot Aqua di gio! And ceruti 1881, anais anais (how could I forget?) and Daisy!
So many perfumes. So little time.

Canyouforgiveher · 19/07/2015 03:11

Body shop musk

Anais anais (I loved it but couldn't really afford it. To this day I love it and keep a bottle in the bathroom just to smell and remember "youth and buried time" every now and then

Cinnabar (stolen from my sister who was earning when I was in college)

Rive Gauche - the early years working

Paris - wedding and honeymoon

Beautiful (estee lauder) good few years of child rearing

Angel by thierry mugler (sp?) My mum came out to visit and asked me to buy some for my sis (who wasn't taking to me at the time) as a present from her. So I bought a load of stuff and fell in love with the perfume. Felt a bit guilty wearing "her" perfume as she was nc with me at the time.

Various other expensive perfumes brought by dh who gets bored in airports - none stuck except my latest favourite: L'eau d'issay. Love it.

I often pick a new perfume if we are going on a holiday or a special occasion because the smell will always be so evocative. Paris brings back my wedding to this day.

Canyouforgiveher · 19/07/2015 03:13

forgot 4711 - learning german in Koln.

And Chanel no 19 reminds me of my best friend, age 20.

Chanel no 5 smells of nothing to me.

OneDay - another former BPAL fan! Did you wind up spending too much time on the BPAL forum, too, or was that just me?

Dowser · 19/07/2015 08:38

Aquamanda..my teenage years
French fern by morny. Still love this smell as it conjures up going away on holiday. My mum would save her Xmas gift from me till holiday time.
Coty l aimant
Tweed...my south African cousin wore this. Se was very cool. So mum and I wanted to be like her.
Avon perfumes whose name I can't remember. Wishing was one
Youth dew....an admirer bought me a big bottle of probably what was my first real adult bottle
Chanel no 5.... Still like that today
Flirted with Poison...a bit heavy now
When we were going regularly to America I used to stock up on st John
Started going to France regularly and tried most of the Hermes ones of the noughties .24 Fauberg st honore being a firm favourite and for my birthday was given a big bottle of Caleche by oh. Special occasions and evenings.
Everyday I still love ck1 .
my daughter bought me some Jo wood which was lovely .

My big, big all time favourite is Origins Spring Fever . It's just fabulous and out of production I think. My friend managed to track some down for me a year ago. I wear sparingly.

I don't wear it everyday. I make a lot of my own fragrances with essential oils so am quite happy to waft around in some aromatherapy creation of my own.

Dowser · 19/07/2015 08:42

How could I forget Gaultier ( more indulgence on my French trips ) and Hermes Orange Verte which I still love. In fact after smashing what was left in the bottle earlier this year, I'm due another one .

TheWordFactory · 19/07/2015 08:42

Ha, this has made me smile.

Like many others Anais Anais in my youth.
Paris.
Femme...

Then lots of dotting around, with No 5 as a consistent back burner.

Dowser · 19/07/2015 08:52

Just remembered Elizabeth Arden blue grass. I still like that
Nina ricci l' air du temps. It never seemed strong enough
Also wore Chloe and anais anais.
I remember topaz and a lot of the yardley perfumes.

Dowser · 19/07/2015 08:56

Anyone remember men wearing Brut. That smell brings back a lot of happy memories.

TheWordFactory · 19/07/2015 08:56

I was also deeply in love with Paloma for a time and Tuscany Per Donna by Aramis.

Stitchintime1 · 19/07/2015 08:57

I'm glad so many people have remembered their perfumes. I'm really enjoying reading the lists. It's amazing how intensely perfumes conjures up times for me. Rive Gauche so fit in with my starting a career life stage and Chanel 19 is the scent of my marriage. Now, I can't seem to find a perfume for all days and all the time, so I enjoy myself just sampling and experimenting.
