Thanks Wombat, the niacinamide is my main 'want' iyswim. I doubt I can credit it entirely to that but I'm definitely less oil-slick-ish so the combination of things I'm using must be working!

I'm using the Hada Labo lotion toner - it'd go after that, wouldn't it?

The Mizon mask has niacinamide as well, doesn't it? I was going to look at that as well but was lured by the Dragons Blood essence's name Grin

GrinAndTonic · 04/08/2015 11:36

I'm not in the UK but all my parcels from RRS and TesterKorea were both marked as being no more then $20 in value despite being worth more. I'd assume it would be the same there.

ilovetosleep · 04/08/2015 12:17

lucys I'd guess that the galactomytes would go before the hada labo? Same as the fte? Now I need to decide whether I need fte or galactomytes ;)

lucysmam · 04/08/2015 12:27

I shall do some more reading! It throws the whole routine doing essence before toner - the toner's not quite the consistency of water (a little thicker) & the skinfood propolis is more serum-ey in texture than the dragon's blood which is like a light cream iyswim? Confused

Lucy crazy snail lady has a lot of posts about it

lucysmam · 04/08/2015 13:42

Thanks Grin, I haven't looked at the crazy snail lady for a while - didn't think to search her blog Blush

hmmm, snail lady says after cleansing, or actives, or toner...I'm still none the wiser.

I would guess before toner, after actives is where I would slot it in then since it's supposed to be a FTE? It sounds similar in texture to the HL so I don't suppose it would make that much difference really.

goodasitgets · 04/08/2015 15:17

I have some samples that came... When to use in my routine help?!
They are
Missha super Aqua peeling gel
Blanc pearl caviar toner

m0gz · 04/08/2015 15:55

Thank you for the kind offers re the cosrx. I really want a magical cure for the sebaceous filaments on my nose. I do the mud mask routine once a week and use the clearasil pads every day but I can still see them :( I know they will never go completely but i was hoping they would get a lot less noticeable. Reading about the cosrx yesterday, it contains betaine salicylate which is supposed to be gentler than salicylic acid. I do wonder if gentler equals less potent or effective? I just want something to nuke them Grin

bigbuttons · 04/08/2015 16:51

Ladies, you can make you own NAG( niacin)amide and glucosamine serum for peanuts, honestly, it's much easier than a simple c serum even. It doesn't oxidize, isn't ph sensitive etc etc. It will be much more effective because it will be stronger and fresher.

GrinAndTonic · 04/08/2015 19:46

Do you have a magic recipe buttons?

ScrambledSmegs · 04/08/2015 20:33

Sorry m0gz, I have been nowhere the past couple of days as I have a really bad cold Sad. No Coppertone shop done.

Bigbuttons I'm really keen to get into diy skincare. What's the best place to buy active ingredients in the UK? I see a lot of US diy-ers use Active Formulas but I assume shipping could be an issue. Are Lotioncrafters ok? Are there any other reliable suppliers I could look at?

Am off to sneeze my brain out some more. Might do a sheet mask to take the edge off. This cold requires the Benton Snail Bee, I reckon.

plasticbanana · 04/08/2015 20:44

Smegs Activeformulas is based in the UK. It is a more limited version of the US-based Skinactives site.

FrugalFashionista · 04/08/2015 20:49

Poor Smeg DD2 and I have had something similar - it passed quickly though.

Wearing snail bee, falling asleep...

Gah, I popped onto EBay to check how long ago I ordere the scinic honey ampoule only to see that I hadn't ordered it at all! I've ordered it now, but not sure what to do as I've run out of serum.

I'm trying a cheapo sheet mask tonight, will report back.

Sorry to hear you're porely Smeg. Bigbuttons, whatS the recipe?

shereebobbins · 04/08/2015 22:24

Holy snails has a simple nag serum on her blog.
She calls it Holy snail water.

lucysmam · 04/08/2015 22:24

m0gz, I wondered if the betaine sylicate would be less effective than salicylic acid too but, plenty of folks on reddit are happy with the effects of the cosrx blackhead power liquid. I don't have that one yet or would have happily sent you some to try. I have the whitehead one though Smile

I'm guessing, at least for me, my pores have been clogged with gunk for a good few years before I learned the right way to actually use the acids so it's going to take a good while to see brilliant results.

lucysmam · 04/08/2015 22:29

Sorry to see you're poorly ScrambledSad

News what mask are you trying? Smile

I soaked up the extra essence from a Savers one in a sheet mask blank tonight - there wasn't quite enough I don't think, it dried out quite quickly.

lucysmam · 04/08/2015 22:58

Dp has just challenged me to find the bizzarrest 99p skincare/beauty related item I can on ebay...any suggestions? Grin I'm off to see what I can find. I did consider an animal sheet mask but don't think he'd find that bizzarre these days!

GrinAndTonic · 04/08/2015 23:42

A friend asked me a similar question the other day so I give you .... www.xovain.com/news/weird-asian-beauty-products

AmazingDisgrace · 05/08/2015 08:25

Im still around but on holiday in San Francisco. My mother died two days ago so I won't be about as much when I get back. Oddly, one of my coping mechanisms was to maniacally order Korean stuff.

lucysmam · 05/08/2015 09:24

Oh Amazing, I'm so sorry for your loss Thanks

lucysmam · 05/08/2015 09:44

Grin Grin weird indeed! I think they're mostly out of my 99p budget but I'll have a look.

ScrambledSmegs · 05/08/2015 09:44

Amazing I'm so sorry for your loss. Thanks.
