dh usually buys me a bottle for xmas, I have chanel mademoiselle, Ralph lauren romance and shalimar but I have no idea what to get this year, had a smell of the new D&G the one?? but that reminded me of a calvin klein fragrance.

Would you trust your DH/DP to make their own judgement and buy a bottle or do you always tell them which one you would prefer.

has anyone tried any of the Roberto Cavelli??? perfumes

Might be Sensuelle, but anyway it's a bloody sexy purfume!

jampots · 18/11/2006 00:55

prada is quite a fave right now
also love Agent Provocateur

but I always revert back to Chanel Mademoiselle or Coco.

White Linen (Estee Lauder)

CristinaTheAstonishing · 18/11/2006 13:47

Libertine by Vivienne Westwood.

chocolatemummy · 18/11/2006 13:49

estee lauder? Beautiful

SoMuchToBits · 18/11/2006 13:59

Thank you chocolate peanut for mentioning Eau de Givenchy! It's the only perfume I have ever found that smells nice on me. I smell a lot of other nice ones on other people, but as soon as I try them on myself, they smell like disinfectant, cleaning fluids etc! I guess I must have weird skin Chemistry. Anyway, I didn't realise they still made Eau de Givenchy, as I haven't had any for ages, and haven't seen it in the shops. But now you've mentioned it, I googled it, and found several websites where I can buy some.

crunchie · 18/11/2006 14:16

I have 3 that I rotate.

Green tea - ELizabeth Arden (summer days)
Provocative Woman - Elizabeth arden (evenings)
Armand Basi - Daytime

The Armand Basi my MIL bought duty free and I thought I would hate, I actually love it and you cannot get it in this country so it also has teh rarit value. It is light and fresh, but not quite as fresh as Green tea IYKWIM.

Verso · 18/11/2006 20:06

Agree with giddy1 - jean-paul gaultier classique (re effect on dh lol). Have worn it for ages. My cousin ended up buying a bottle because she said it smelled so nice on me. Was because is my 'signature' scent (if such a thing exists).

Also love Coco (but don't have any atm ), Vera Wang and Obsession Sheer (yes, sad 80's throwback is me... )

Mirage · 18/11/2006 20:07

Gucci No3.Sadly discontinued now.I t was the only perfume I've really loved.

Scootergirl · 18/11/2006 20:10

Love Aromatics Elixir by Clinque - smells bizarre when you first squirt it on but give it ten minutes to settle and it's fab. And, btw, what's all this about eveing perfumes? Do I need to spray on something different for my post-bathtime collapse in front of the telly???

mamijacacalys · 18/11/2006 20:18

Day - White Musk, Body Shop. Worn it since I was about 13. Still love it plus I have the body lotions, soap, etc. Have liked other body shop scents - Oceanus, Ananya, Dewberry etc, plus others such as Cerruti 1881, Givenchy Amarige, but keep coming back to this.

Evening - Chanel Chance. (Most of my friends like Allure but it smells weird on me).

PS SoMuchtoBits and ChocolatePeanut - I also used to love Eau de Givenchy. Will maybe ask for some for Christmas too as didn't think it was still around.

olivhohoho · 18/11/2006 20:43

ck1 for daytime, Dune for evening.

SoMuchToBits · 18/11/2006 20:46

Yes, I think I will ask for some Eau de Givenchy for Christmas too!

Ruwla · 18/11/2006 20:46

My faves at the moment are Euphoria and Vera Wang. I love perfume but get bored very easily. Still love Euphoria though and have had it a year now.

Also love Paul Smith Women and Truth by Calvin Klein.

CountTo10 · 18/11/2006 20:49

I like Davidoff Cool Water and DNKY and wear both all the time. I also like Clinique Happy and Armani White.

mellowandreadyforchristmas · 18/11/2006 21:13

mrsnoah · 19/11/2006 07:58

Mirage! Fancy that. Gucci no3 was ALWAYS my perfume. I miss it and cant understand why they would stop making it.

mrsnoah · 19/11/2006 08:03

Mrs Badger, I think thats the most romantic thing I've heard all year. He can even remember what you smelled like before you went out together. That's just lovely!
