So there. :)

OP posts:
motherinferior · 26/06/2015 15:01

It's the upgrade from the House of Horror, QQ Grin. We went for soulless cleanliness. Or I did, anyway. When DP said sentimentally he was "looking forward to a night away with me" a more suspicious MNer would have started checking he wasn't mistaking his assignations.

QueenQueenie · 26/06/2015 15:06

Do you think with hindsight MI that the Hotel of Horror booking was all a ploy to make the Premier Inn option appear the height of luxury?! He's no fool your dh....

bigTillyMint · 26/06/2015 15:11

CVGrin, QQ and MI Grin at seriously deluded and upgrade from House of Horror and ploy!

It's 3pm and TFIFWine

motherinferior · 26/06/2015 15:23

He'll be flattered at the suggestion Grin

I am wiped.

bigTillyMint · 26/06/2015 16:24

MI, you need a nice cold glass of something in a couple of hours to revive youWink

CointreauVersial · 26/06/2015 17:23

I'm quite partial to a Premier Inn. You know what you are getting. Or, in DH's case, what you won't be getting. Wink

herbaceous · 26/06/2015 17:34

Ooh, I would LOVE to stay in a Premier Inn. It might even cause my dormant libido to glow faintly. Until I fall asleep in front of the telly, that is. The last time I stayed in a hotel was the night DS was conceived!

CointreauVersial · 26/06/2015 19:34

Wahey, Herbs!

Anyway, with the assistance of a large G&T and Desmond Carrington in the background, an 80th birthday speech has been drafted. To be honest, that's the easy bit. Will deliver it to DH later for critiquing.

Blackduck · 26/06/2015 20:24

Gardengate avoided - don't ask. Beer, wine, Telly..... Missing my crepeys Hmm

QueenQueenie · 26/06/2015 21:13

Hope it's a good MU - the Sarf London Massif innit.
Was wondering why it's a bit quiet on here... then remembered you're all out on the piss. Have a large glass of red for me.... X

hattymattie · 27/06/2015 07:22

Hello Crepeys - hope meet up was fun. Smile

Stropps and Herbs - keep soldiering on. I don't think my TA post is going to materialise either due to dwindling numbers of expats in the international schools. It appears everybody is staying at home.

Yesterday hit 32° and today we have a dip before it soars to 36 tomorrow. I managed a walk in the forest with DD1, DS and two friends before a migraine kicked in. DS said I have lovely friendsGrin.

I brought some ugly and expensive but fabulously comfortable running shoes. I wanted black trendy Nike's but DD1 made me buy Asics which apparently is the make for proper runners. She said I can then buy trendy Nike's or Adidas for just walking around in. What do I know.Confused

DS and DH have gone on a bonding trip to Disneyland today. It is the first Saturday of the sales but I really don't think I can face it. DD1 is going waterskiing on the Seine - I am convinced she is going to pick up some horrible bacterial infection.

hattymattie · 27/06/2015 07:24

MI - so glad you got a date for the scan - it's today isn't it? Keeping everything crossed for you.Smile

MontserratCaballe · 27/06/2015 07:55

Still haven't caught up. Hope the meet up was fun.

MI, huge amounts of luck for your scan today. I hope your mind will be put at ease.

Hatty, waterskiing on the Seine sounds amazing. Hope she has fun and comes back in one piece. Sorry about the TA job. Might there be more opportunities later in the year?

Right, am going to post this before it disappears. I had 6 kids over for a sleepover and am making pancakes for breakfast. Fortunately they conked out at 9.30 til 6.30 so they and I are both not too shabby.

beachyhead · 27/06/2015 08:04

Hope you had a great MU, Crepeys of a CHS.....always sorry to miss it. Good luck today, MI. I'm pleased you managed to bring it forward. The waiting is always the worst bit. And at least you'll be in the 'system', although I'm not sure that always helps.

All systems go here, trying to prepare dd1 for interrailing. She's off early next week. Eight clueless teenagers, with backpacks. The girls are quite organised - the boys are not and will just be 'managed' round their various destinations Grin. I foresee at least one disaster over the coming weeks. I'm sure they will all fall out, come back very smelly and minus half their stuff.

I don't want to go out today - there's a massive festival nearby and all the roads are gridlocked. The small country roads are all full of locals, with knowing smiles, trying to get from A to B, without going near town!

magimedi · 27/06/2015 08:35

MI - thinking of you & all digits crossed for your scan.

DS came back from his post A Level-first-hols with pals with an eyebrow piercing & peroxide blonde hair Shock

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/06/2015 09:21

Lovely to see you all last night. I overdosed on cheese (my bad, or should I say my greed?), but one day out of many dull low fat days can't hurt, can it?

Hatty - I was desperate to do the "In Seine" swim when I was in Paris, but it was cancelled due to the poor quality of the water... I'm sure your DD will be fine though, they were more concerned about people swallowing the stuff while swimming. I grew up near the Thames and used to swim in it every summer... no adults within shouting distance, just a group of 8 year olds. Sometimes someone's mother would turn up mid afternoon with a big tupperware container of warm, weak squash, and some pastel coloured tupperware beakers, and a tupperware container of Rich Tea or Petit Beurre. The tupperware always made the squash taste slightly plasticky and the biscuits were always a bit soft. How easily we were pleased in the 70s.

Rosebag · 27/06/2015 10:07

I am mentally holding your hand MI. Truly hoping it's over by now and you are reassured…although results aren't always given straight away, are they. Flowers xxx

Good luck to all Crepeys DC who are off on adventures, trips, water sports and the like.

Hope the MU was a blast. DS and I got back from Birmingham at about 7 in the evening yesterday….having started the day at 5.30am. A great visit if completely knackering..we were running from one talk to tour to another…DS loved it, so it's the front runner at the moment (ahead of Cambridge…I think he'll drop out of the OxBridge programme at school before too long…). He can combine French post A level, German from scratch and music in a combined honours programme…which he wanted…but as he doesn't want to do the performance modules he doesn't get free tuition, so we'd have to arrange that separately. more bloody fees

I must get dressed…I'd forgotten we have tickets to see Idina Menzel en famille at Wembley tonight Hmm

Grin at plastic flavoured squash, MrsS…what an evocative memory of growing up in 70's.

Rosebag · 27/06/2015 10:08

ps Rudy I have been wondering about you…. Smile

lalsy · 27/06/2015 10:21

Lovely mini MU last night. MI, hope all goes well today, thinking of you.

Blackduck · 27/06/2015 10:53

MI fingers crossed.....
Feeling distinctly off colour here.... May retire to bed.

hattymattie · 27/06/2015 11:25

Mrs S - it sounds like The Famous Five (although they would not have had plastically squash).Grin

DD1 is back and apparently water skiing was as fabulous as it sounds. I think she has some rather well off friends - not sure our humble abode would pass muster.Hmm

motherinferior · 27/06/2015 12:23

She took one look and said "fibroids". SmileGrinSmile Have two of the buggers, on 6cm and one 2cm. Apparently they will go with menopause (a silver lining!!) but as they're not causing any problems I'm really not worried.

I am SO relieved. Massive thanks for all the hand-holding and for understanding my panic. Now onwards to the Premier InnGrin...

Blackduck · 27/06/2015 12:27

Fab news MI - my administrator has some too (discovered when they were trying to locate a 'missing' coil)
Enjoy the Premier Inn :)

magimedi · 27/06/2015 12:29

SO please dto hear that, MI.

Enjoy the Premier Inn............

bigTillyMint · 27/06/2015 12:50

Great news MI! Hope the Premiere Inn is up to scratchWink

Beachy, how exciting for your DD. At least there are mobile phones these days and you can keep in touch. Or maybe that's not a good thing!

Really enjoyed the wine MU last night - lovely to see you all. Just had a nice breakfast out in the sun with Stropps and am now thinking about a snooze in the garden...
