So there. :)

Blimeys, I think I am having a bit of a teenage moment. I am MNing, whilst carrying on 2 convos on FB and a text conversation with someone else. Eh, no wonder dd is so tired all the time - I feel knackered after keeping this up for 20 mins. She spends entire evenings keeping multiple convos going with about 50 different people at once.

That's horrendous, Mrs S. I'm with MI on the scared of heights ledge.

Well done Stropps for the right decision, yet again, and good luck for your run. I would come and watch, but I might have to go and see my MIL if I came to B'mouth and that would not do.

Happy birthday Rudy, bit late, but not even home yet. Had a horrendous week, where my boss appears to be ignoring me and the new super dooper uber efficient boss in London is ignoring me. I feel quite abandoned, bit orphaned as if I'm about to be put out to grass, but no-one dares say. Only time will tell.

I want the full lowdown on NCS, Mrs S, as we might go that way next summer. Has anybody's dc done Outward Bound? I'm scratching round for childcare ideas as dh's new crappy job has come through and he starts in August.... Helpful, not!

QueenQueenie · 08/07/2015 22:12

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to Rudy and the Little Herb!

Am exhausted today for no apparent reason... oh well.

Stropps - have my fingers firmly crossed and hoping the right thing comes along for you - you soooo deserve it. Well done on surviving interview etc and acquitting yourself so well - it can only get easier.

Buggering tube strike. How annoying is that?? was banking on them calling it off like they usually seem to do... Grrrr.

QueenQueenie · 08/07/2015 22:14

That sounds horrible re work Beachy. Are you worried? And why is dh's new job crappy??

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/07/2015 22:23

Well DD1 has just called to say that she is in hospital, having bashed her leg on a concrete pillar. She can't put any weight on it, and they are going to X ray it. Her knee is very swollen apparently.

I am going to have to wrap the pair of them up in cotton wool and not let them out of my sight, aren't I? Hmm

Beachy, that sounds horrible re work. Re NCS, they have a week outward bound as part of it. DD1 is enjoying the second week better. Her advice is to take a friend if you can, as lots of people in her group went with a friend.

Stropperella · 08/07/2015 22:36

Aww no, MrsS., both on the same day? Is your dd1 still around these parts and, if so, can I be of use? (or did I completely imagine that you said she was down West with her NCS?

OP posts:
Stropperella · 08/07/2015 22:38

Fingers crossed that there is nothing unpleasant pending at work, Beachy... Not a nice feeling.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/07/2015 23:14

Stropps - she is back up here now (well, Surrey), otherwise I would have asked you to go and shout at the hospital to get a move on.

Blackduck · 09/07/2015 05:31

Be achy hope all is okay. And MrsS - both in a day!!!
I have to haul my sorry arse in today but wfh tomorrow - I am knackered.....

Here reading the consultation responses is at least amusing - some people are very direct!!

bigTillyMint · 09/07/2015 06:09

Stropps, well done on doing the interview so well AND on not going for a job that clearly is, sadly, just too time-demanding. And for looking so positively at the next academic year rather than crawling into a holeFlowersWine

MrsS, they will be able to compare injuries on their return! Hope they are both OK and it's nothing too serious.

Beachy, that sounds crap, you poor thing.

BD, at least you aren't hit by the tube strike up there. And it'll be another day down.

Went to see DD's school Art Exhibition last night - very impressive. What a very talented bunch of students they have. And such a wide range of art to see. Prom today, finally!

Blackduck · 09/07/2015 09:19

BTM train strike = WFH.....

Anyway made it in and as long as I get back okay tonight that is the week done travel-wise. Ds has been good all things considered, but having to cover everything off is stressful - I know I shouldn't moan, I'm onlyy a single parent for 11 days and not for the foreseeable....

Stropperella · 09/07/2015 09:33

Phew, BD, nearly done for this week, then!

BTM, hope the prom goes smoothly and dd has a lovely time.

For me, another day = another school. Yesterday, a large comprehensive, today, a teeny village school for less than 40 little people. I visited earlier this term and the head asked me to come back in today, but I'm not entirely sure what awaits me.

Have had this year's accounts back from accountant. Fairly disastrous, but we knew that. Let's hope I can make things different by this time next year.

herbaceous · 09/07/2015 09:36

Ooh Stropps - today's going to be a good day. I can feel it in my waters.

Rosebag · 09/07/2015 10:00

Oh heavens, MrsS I do hope your girls are ok Shock

All credit to you Stropps for managing the interview and results of said interview so well. Definitely the right decision and another opportunity will be along soon. Today, even! Smile

I sniggered at Herbs managing birthday excitement with small boys. I feel a million miles away from all that now but remind me one day to tell you about the year I took a few carloads of Year 2 beasties to the Unicorn Theatre and for tea after for DS1's birthday. NEVER, EVER again. Grin Hope miniHerbs had a memorable time, though.

Flowers BD, Beachy and MI for your various reasons. It's hard to get the "older" generation to drink liberally. My grandmother was atrocious in this respect…she had it hard wired into her that drinking water was fattening Confused ffs. She had chronic cystitis.

Tilly hope to see some photos of the prom queen!!! Assuming dress, shoes and all accoutrements have all been sorted now and that she will have a lovely, lovely time. Smile

I am irritable. Plumber is here dealing with an accumulation of non working and dripping taps, toilets with water hammer etc etc. DD has sports day and I have had to drive her to the track, (Took me an hour and half) and will have to pick up later. DS has been offered extra rehearsals in the Autumn for something significant in the Xmas show at the theatre and won't commit. Bugger. Harrumph…. Angry

hattymattie · 09/07/2015 10:18

Phew sort of caught up - Stropps - what a rollercoaster. Good luck for today. Maybe it'll materialise into the perfect job. Smile

Mrs S - hope the DD's are recovering.

MI - hope your DM is feeling better.

I am just getting packed for very early departure tomorrow morning. Have found two day old sandwiches in the back of the car - forgotten by the interrailers when they did a sprint for the train which was pulling into the station at the same time as them.

bigTillyMint · 09/07/2015 11:15

Stropps, hope it goes well - sounds very unlike anywhere hereGrin

Herbs, LOL at I can feel it in my waters!

Rose, I am hoping to get some lovely photos! They are off to do hair and makeup later, so should be ready when I get home.

motherinferior · 09/07/2015 11:42

Off to Norwich for the appointment which will tell us if DM is clear of cancer. DP in Sheffield tonight. I could really do without all this...

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/07/2015 12:15

Oh good luck, MI. Can I recommend one of those cans of G & T for the return journey?

DD1's leg not broken, badly bruised and soft tissue damage, apparently. However she is on crutches... Hmm I am just not thinking of the zip wire. It must have been horrendous.

motherinferior · 09/07/2015 12:47

Have purchased delicious but healthy lunch in view of offsetting inevitable decline into Bombay mix and aforementioned tinnies on return.

Blackduck · 09/07/2015 12:53

MI - fingers crossed...

MrsS also fingers crossed and Stropps!!

Catch up soon - I am crawling to early finish today as I have to collect ds from book club...

Rosebag · 09/07/2015 12:53

Hope there's optimistic news MI…I second the G&T. Wine

Gosh, MrsS but relieved there's no break Flowers

bigTillyMint · 09/07/2015 12:58

MI, good luck.

MrsS, phew. I wouldn't be thinking about the zip wire either!

motherinferior · 09/07/2015 13:18

Have managed to lose ticket. The Nice Asian Boy collecting them has forgiven me. I love him.

motherinferior · 09/07/2015 17:38

Update;

It's not great. Not too awful but some cancer still there. Expected to flare up "probably next year".

Rosebag · 09/07/2015 18:12

Flowers MI Sounds like a partial remission which they aim to keep under control? xxx

Picked up DD from sports day. She was down…like a classic dyspraxic, came last in everything she did. This is par for the course, but what must it feel like? I was glad to be able to show her a letter from the school which came today, saying that she had been chosen for an award by her English teacher for consistent learning skills whatever that means
