Help me find my wedding dress, please!

I am getting married :) In 8 weeks :) and I don't have a dress yet.

It's a small registry office do and we're just going to the pub afterwards, so I don't want a "wedding dress" dress, I just want a nice dress that will flatter me and make me look reasonably good for my wedding. So you can probably think of dresses that most people would wear as wedding guests.

So, I'm 5'9", size 16/18 (loosing weight currently so hoping to be a proper size 16 by then, rather than between sizes), I'm an apple shape with big boobs and a big belly but I quite like my legs, my arms are ok and I'm happy to show a bit of cleavage but will need to be able to wear a supportive bra so not too much. I spend most of my life wearing jeans and tshirts, or for work I wear trousers and smart tops, so I have no idea what style of dress is going to suit me. I do know I like bold colours, rather than pale, and I've been told I suit blues and greens.

I am open to any and all suggestions, I just need some ideas to get me started.

www.schuh.co.uk/womens/irregular-choice-mal-e-bow-crochet-multi-high-heels/1159109970/ love these for the cream

Have a look at rubyshoo shoes, not expensive and fab colours and designs. Mine were from them. With the cream dress I would go for bright shoes.

Jewelry wise I wore silver but small and simple, a little chain and little earrings, not expensive.

I had my hair up with a vintage style hair piece that I got from a friend.

My flowers wrre handmade if you look on etsy you can get some lovely bits.

I love those shoes mumofthree, but I don't wear heels. I truly can't walk in them, so I'd rather just get flats (because I'm awkward)

My hair is brown, I don't really know about my colouring Blush. My hair is a short bob and I was planning on just having it cut a couple of days before and wearing it as normal. I won't be wearing makeup, because I just don't wear makeup and don't know how to do it nicely.

No make up no problem - though if you go for the red I would consider trying a really full on red lipstick - but consider having your eyebrows shaped? Assuming you don't already do this? It does make the most enormous difference. I'll admit I trim my eyebrows with a razor because plucking makes my eyes water but I can't recommend that...

Converse or vintage style plimsolls would be great with those dresses.

Another vote for the cream lace dress.

The cream dress is beautiful and such good value!

momtothree · 07/06/2015 21:03

Cant tempt you with these then?

I like the red dress and I think you'd be more likely to wear it again than the lace one.
