Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

Talking of swimwear drooling

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2015 09:15

Yes Molly, that one. The Twitter thread was really funny, but I'm hiding that MN thread with people saying those questions were easy. I think it's partly due to the way the questions were phrased - trying to link them to RL.

Rose, well done on fitting into the red dress!

motherinferior · 05/06/2015 09:18

I am going out for lunch. Possibly with MrsS (lock up your cocktail waiters Wink). DSis says she thinks it's unlikely anyone will actually monitor her eating/weight but we'll see...

Have sent completely revamped case study over with another grovelling email. DP rather impressed at my unexpected tendency to apologies which I don't do very often.

Rose, congrats on the weight loss! A bright red bra vv deffo the way to celebrate. In all honesty (and I do know what you mean about elephants) I'd be tempted to suggest he resigns as a trustee if it's so complicated for him.

Rudy that is quite terrible and so sad .

Blackduck · 05/06/2015 10:08

Lovin all this talk of red dresses etc.

MI have a fabulous lunch.

Rudy so sad about local mum. Job deadline is 16th so will knock out boring bits of application this week and spend next week doing the 'give me the job' bit......

motherinferior · 05/06/2015 10:19

OH, Rudy, that's awful.

herbaceous · 05/06/2015 10:26

Well remembered, crepeys, about my lemon dress. It has yet, along with all my other summer clothes, to come out of storage, but I'm looking forward to a sunny day of wearing it. Though if I continue this Tunnocks trajectory, I won't be able to get into it.

Another disturbed night, full of nightmares about my assignment, but I woke up with a 'ping' of clarity about how I'm going to structure the biggest bit, so today will be productive. Once I get off MN.

whattodoforthebest2 · 05/06/2015 10:53

Morning Crepeys and Happy Birthday MI, have a lovely lunch - the sun's trying to come out.

Yes Molly - a doggy meet up would be lovely - whereabouts are you?

Awful news about that mum, Rudy, very sad.

In S&B news, DD found skyscraper bronze sparkly sandals and equally high grey/silver ones - both looked gorgeous and she will tower over everybody at 5'11" without shoes! I felt large and frumpy next to her and, not surprisingly, couldn't find anything I fancied for tomorrow's party. It's on a farm in the middle of nowhere though, so I may tone it down this time unlikely.

I bought a couple of Gottex swimsuits on ebay a couple of years ago, they've lasted very well and are beautifully made. I wouldn't pay those prices though.

Well done, herbs, on the assignment front - it's good when that ping of clarity hits home.

Tilly, I'm sure your DD will be reflecting on her behaviour - they do sooner or later, but can't admit they're wrong at the time. Unfortunately, us Mums are often first in the firing line. Sad

bigTillyMint · 05/06/2015 10:53

Oh Rudy, that is so, so sadSad

It is like Herbs' dress - I think that's what drew me to it!

whattodoforthebest2 · 05/06/2015 10:54

Spoke too soon - it's raining.

OP posts:
herbaceous · 05/06/2015 10:57

Oh, and of course Happy Birthday MI!

This might not be the right time/place, but as employment in my new sector looks likely to be difficult/impossible to find, at least for a while, I will not be giving up the day job, and thus still on for any little freelance projects you might have!

wherewouldibe · 05/06/2015 11:28

I've been away for a day so missed a large chunk of this thread! From what I can gather all you lovelies seem to be ok. Just read an article about Davinia McCall saying (in brief) you should do anything your man wants in the bedroom or else he'll stray Shock what do we think of this ladies?

motherinferior · 05/06/2015 11:34

It is always the right time and place to tout for work, Herbs. Believe me Grin We will discuss when the next issue looms up.

I've had nice feedback from (a) my choir about my solo (b) novelist friend about my Opus.

addle · 05/06/2015 11:38

Happy Birthday MI. Have a lovely celebration with Mrs S.

Great dress BTM, will look fab on you. Sorry about DD but I do also think they are getting v tired at this point. DS says he simply isn't ready for his two today at all because it's been such a heavy week.

S&B query - I know we've covered this before, so apologies but: recommendations for mascara? does it make a difference to get a high end make? I think I probably want dark brown rather than black.

Where - pfffffft, bollocks

herbaceous · 05/06/2015 11:41

Mascara. I swear by Max Factor. Not the 1000 calorie stuff that is a bit claggy, but anything that goes on about 'lengthening'. I used to always use the brown/black version, being a bit pasty, but that hardly ever seems to be an option these days.

Good news re positive feedback all round, MI. Most cheering to the soul.

wherewouldibe · 05/06/2015 11:47

addle my thoughts exactly.

Mascara - I have tried everything from expensice to cheap. I quite like Rimmel however I have found that eyelashes are a really personal thing. The ones I swear by my close friend hates and the one she uses I don't get on with at all.

whattodoforthebest2 · 05/06/2015 11:50

Where - Addle echoes my thoughts on Davina's comment, smacks of desperation.

Re mascara - I always go back to Maybelline, but avoid waterproof as it makes my lashes disintegrate. I don't think the more expensive ones are worth it.

OP posts:
whattodoforthebest2 · 05/06/2015 11:53

Apparently Rimmel is much praised by beauty-bloggers, although I tend to be a bit sceptical about impartiality (or lack of) when it comes to beauty and fashion bloggers.

OP posts:
wherewouldibe · 05/06/2015 11:56

Waterproof mascara is the devil. I hate that stuff.

I'm thinking of chopping my hair and changing the colour..currently a medium brunette so could go either way although I don't fancy bright blonde these days(!).. How do you lot have your hair? Give me some inspiration...

wherewouldibe · 05/06/2015 11:58

Those beauty bloggers hmmmmm I don't particularly trust them, I have been sucked into a few products that I have seen blogged about time and time again and felt that they didn't live up to the hype.

NUFC69 · 05/06/2015 12:07

Happy birthday, MI. Wine Enjoy your lunch out. I like the dress, BTM - I never see anything like that when I go to Asda. I have, however, just picked up my new specs from there - very pleased with them and particularly the price. I understand that they are trying to bring down spec prices and they have succeeded as far as I am concerned.

Sorry I meant to enquire about the aftermath of the road accident the other day - I hope DH and DS have recovered. I will send Lalsy the risotto recipe over the weekend.

We have had breakfast on the patio two days running: summer must be here. Oh, and Herbs, when you go to Waitrose, buy some of their Magnum lookalikes - they do a salted caramel one: delicious.
