Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

OP posts:
herbaceous · 06/06/2015 19:14

Any better?

I can't believe I'm trying to justify Hotter shoes. I think the assignment has addled my brain.

Rosebag · 06/06/2015 19:36

I clicked on the Hotter link and now those Marie Antoinette shoes and other Hotter delights are flashing at me from every corner of my screen. I am finished… Grin

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2015 20:08

Fraid I don't like either of them Herbs!

Here it is quiet as DH has taken DS off to his footy presentation. I would have gone but they are planning to watch the UEFA cup in the club room after. I have just woken DD up, but she has not appeared yet. I fear another wake - up will result in profanities.

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2015 20:13

And I've got those bloody Hotter ads now too!

Blackduck · 06/06/2015 21:04

Ha ha re hotters. I clicked on the thread herbs mentioned... Bigger isn't it? ! I recommend deleting your history and cookies.....

QueenQueenie · 06/06/2015 21:11

Get a teenager to install adblock on your laptop - TADA - no more Hotter...

Herbs, I think those shoes would require much more aplomb than I am capable of mustering...

bigTillyMint · 06/06/2015 21:22

QQ, I have 2 teens but they both look to me when their gadgets don't workAngry

DH just text me - DS got Managers Player the YearSmile Now how to transfer those skills to the classroom....

CointreauVersial · 06/06/2015 21:22

LOL - I'm not clicking on those Hotter links; I will just use my imagination. I remember when one of you (Herbs?) was bikini shopping, and I was followed around by a pair of stripy bikini bottoms for days. Grin

QueenQueenie · 06/06/2015 22:01

WoW BTM, well done your ds! That's a real achievement.

beachyhead · 06/06/2015 23:13

I was followed around by Wilbur's racy pants for days about a year ago.

Bit annoyed as dd is babysitting, and has been since 4pm. The parents have just called and extended the 11pm until 12.30pm. I need some revision from her tomorrow.....

CointreauVersial · 06/06/2015 23:58

Fantastic, BTM. Well done DS.

NUFC69 · 07/06/2015 06:47

Fantastic news about DS, BTM. Am I going to be able to say in the future, I know his DM?

A sunny morning here and the wind has calmed down so I am hoping to get some more of the pots planted up in the garden. Yesterday it was blowing a gale and I had to keep chasing wandering plants.

DGS1 is going to have to wear specs (I know this isn't anywhere near Herbs' DS's problems), but as both of my two had to wear specs, and in DD's case have three ops, I just wish it hadn't happened. Interestingly enough, DGS's eye has started wandering at exactly the same age as his mum.

Auriga · 07/06/2015 09:21

Morning all. Just wanted to say congrats to BTM's DS.

It's heads down here, with DD revising and me learning music. As in, by heart (eek). Concert on Tue and I'm not allowed to do anything else at all today, so chase me away if I reappear.

And Strops and Herbs, KBO Thanks

herbaceous · 07/06/2015 09:27

I'm on the final stretch. Just have to tidy it up and cut about 1,000 words. By lunchtime. As then I'm off with DP and DS to have a picnic with friends, and take part in some kind of Lego-based art event, part of a local art trail that happens every year.

Then home to spend the evening planning my lesson for Tuesday. This will continue all day and evening tomorrow. Tuesday evening I am planning to do absolutely Bugger All, for the first time for a fortnight.

bigTillyMint · 07/06/2015 09:27

Thanks all - I have to make the most of the proud mummy moments with DS - his teachers, other than the PE dept, don't see this (or the really supportive to DD) side to him!
NUGrin I don't think he will ever hit the BigTime, just want him to enjoy his footy, play well and most importantly to me, be a Good Sport!

Feeling a little less exhausted than I did when I first woke up - DD was up revising till I don't know what time last night after her 2 1/2hour snooze, and I didn't sleep well. Missed the gym slot, so off to meet my friend for a coffee and catch-up.

Hooray for Tilly's DS…fab achievement!

Home run Herbs. Shoo off MN and FB…Grin

NU two out of my three have needed specs. DS2 and DD were both 'patched' as little ones (terrible…) DS2 no longer needs glasses now. DD, only for school work…DDs' was by far the worst and she squinted horribly due to being seriously long sighted. Fortunately as both eyes were equally affected she never actually got a lazy eye though.

Revision for DD here this morning. DS is fast asleep. I am fretting over my red dress for today's function …too low cut…too much bosom. Sigh.

Rosebag · 07/06/2015 09:53

x post. Thanks Rudy . Flowers re your work. I was complaints manager for my service when I worked for the NHS….it's why I eventually burnt out. Try not to take it personally. People are ever more complaining and litigious these days, aren't they.

MollyAir · 07/06/2015 09:56

That's fantastic, BTM, Congrats to you and ds. He can put that on his CV for years to come - seriously, I would take note of that if I were his potential employer - it says: good at teamwork, hard-working, responds to management. Does not make his manager tear his hair out, but on the contrary, gladdens his heart. Yes, please, I'll recruit that one.

Also, can you have it up your sleeve if teachers accuse him of non-cooperation? Only to be used if it furthers your cause, obviously.

Blackduck · 07/06/2015 10:03

Congrats BTMs ds!
Rudy think I must have missed this - anything we can do? Hope work support you.

Here I need to get ds back on to the crusades as won't have time in the evenings to do it.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/06/2015 11:05

Effing Eurostar. Place is like a refugee camp.

Sorry to hear about the work troubles, Ruby. Hope good sense prevails and it doesn't get litigious.

BTM, fantastic news about ds's award! Well done him. And Molly is saying some wise stuff there!

I am behind on my stupid assignment, despite slaving over it. Boo. Dd slumped into deep gloom last night, as she is utterly convinced she has done so badly in her exams that she won't be able to carry on with some of the subjects next year. This may be the case, or it may not. Hope she manages to perk up enough to at least think about university courses and stuff. At the moment she says there is no point and nothing she wants to do because all the stuff she wanted to do requires chemistry and she has failed that. Oh dear.

However, dd suddenly spontaneously cleaned the kitchen yesterday. And I mean properly cleaned it. Shock That's never happened before.

Back to the drivel writing....

Stropperella · 07/06/2015 11:24

ps: am being haunted by Hotter. I used to have adblocker on my computer, but it interfered with a couple of other bits of software in an unhelpful manner, so now I put up with the ads.

CointreauVersial · 07/06/2015 12:09

Blimey, Strops, I wish DS's "revision doom" manifested itself in kitchen cleaning!

He had a dreadful day yesterday, snapping at everyone, unable to get started on any meaningful work, and eventually going back to bed for three hours in the afternoon. Today is a little better - he is busy doing a Chemistry practice paper. I can't persuade him to go to Matalan to look for a cheap suit, though - he reacted to the suggestion as if he'd just trodden in dog muck. It's Topman or nothing. Hmm Meanwhile, my friend has just kitted her son out with a suit she found at a car boot sale for £2. Envy

Rudy - work thing sounds stressful. Sad
