On the look out for some shoes for casual. What would you suggest? Converse really hurt my feet.

Toms! Uncomfortable for the first week then like wearing slippers after that!

Starlingsintheslipstream · 29/05/2015 20:42

Yeah, dsis swears by Toms.

Rojak · 29/05/2015 20:43

Loafers? Geox ones are very comfy

Stinkersmum · 29/05/2015 20:44

As pps have suggested, atoms or good loafers.

Stinkersmum · 29/05/2015 20:44

Toms, not atoms!

fhdl34 · 29/05/2015 20:44

Superdry canvas pumps, so comfy

Bouncey · 29/05/2015 20:56

I can't wear converse either - too flat and really uncomfortable - but i have the ash virgin trainers and they're really comfy. Sketchers go walk are also extremely comfortably though I'll be the first to admit they don't look amazing.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 29/05/2015 20:57

These shoes do me all the way through the summer: www.decathlon.co.uk/baoma-black-grey-id_8294920.html

They do them in a range of colours/materials/prices, they're described on the website as ballerina but I'd have called them walking mary-janes. V comfortable and go with everything, have walked miles and miles in them.

MrsPnut · 29/05/2015 21:02

I have three or four pairs of [[http://www.landsend.com/products/womens-everyday-bungee-ballet-shoes/id_250486 these]] in different colours and I wear them most of the time. They go with jeans and casual trousers brilliantly.

CointreauVersial · 29/05/2015 23:28

Superga.

So much more comfortable than Converse, particularly if you are a little wide of foot.

hairhelpplease · 30/05/2015 06:11

Thanks all.

Hotter Leanne
Very comfortable
Like trainers but in about 5 colours
I can wear them all day ,no pain at all whereas their canvas pumps are too stiff at the back

WipsGlitter · 30/05/2015 07:23

The ones linked to are the summer equivalent of mum boots!

What about loafers or brogues?

Whathaveilost · 30/05/2015 07:27

DH bought me a pair of Scarpa Mojitos. They are really comfortable.

VivaLeBeaver · 30/05/2015 07:27

Do Toms stretch then? They're so uncomfy tight across the top of my foot ive never bought any.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 30/05/2015 07:31

That's what I was just thinking Wips!

Fab41 · 30/05/2015 07:32

Camper do some really comfortable shoes, worth looking out for sales

perfectlybroken · 30/05/2015 07:45

I got palladium flex, which come in normal plimsoll or ballet style. Have worn them every single day. They do loads of colours as well.

Runningupthathill82 · 30/05/2015 07:46

I live in Decathlon running kit, but those shoes are hideously frumpy!

Lagoonablue · 30/05/2015 07:48

I wear Adidas old school trainers. More support than Converse and they channel my inner 90s raver vibe!

Whathaveilost · 30/05/2015 08:00

Can you do some links to shoes you approve of Wips and worlds please.

WipsGlitter · 30/05/2015 08:05

So you can diss them?!

It's subjective. I think the ones linked to are mumsy/ugly/sensible but if the wearers like them then go for it!

Whathaveilost · 30/05/2015 08:08

Seriously Wips no.
You may diss everyone else's suggestion but I am genuinely interested in alternatives to my Puma Suede, my new Scarpa's and Vans that I wear all the time.

I have never seen a pair of loafers or brogues that I like or felt would suit me as they always seem old fashioned and frumpy. A bit formal IYSWIM.

WipsGlitter · 30/05/2015 08:20

It totally depends on the individual lifestyle / clothes / needs. I saw a young woman wearing cream loafers yesterday and they looked great on her, suited her look. For a person who was going to do lots of walking or had a bad back they wouldn't work.

These are nice but woe cut some people across the ankle making their legs look stumpy / wouldn't be suitable for some workplaces.

These are nice, I've seen people wearing them but again wouldn't work for everyone. It would depend on the rest of your look.

homebythesea · 30/05/2015 08:23

Another vote for Superga- much more supportive than converse and more stylish
