stuckonchapterone · 02/05/2015 22:20

Following the birth of the new Princess, who wants to undergo a 30 day 'princessing' challenge? Saw one of these threads a while back following the Royal Wedding ect, who is in? Smile

Roseybee10 · 02/05/2015 22:26

I'm in ??

MaeMobley · 02/05/2015 22:35

I'm in. Do we have a list of things we need to follow? or do we create our own list/ rules?

stuckonchapterone · 02/05/2015 22:45

I've never organised a thread like this before ladies! I've just been a long time lurker...

Shall we create a list of 10 things, and try update on our progress, say at least once a week until the 30 days are up? Smile

OP posts:
Leviticus · 02/05/2015 23:39

Yes!

And let's not be talked out of the term 'princessing' either.

stuckonchapterone · 03/05/2015 10:41

Brilliant, my top 10:

  1. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night
  2. Meet my fitbit 10,000 steps every day
  3. Deep condition hair once a week
  4. Look into getting a facial once every 3 months
  5. Defuzz at least twice a week
  6. Continue flossing after teeth brushing (I'm lazy and often forget)
  7. Make bed every day (again I'm lazy...)
  8. Go back to Weight Watchers (I'm at goal, but falling off track)
  9. Maybe lose another 7 pounds?
10. Try work on confidence, and being happy Smile

Anyone want to share their ideas? Smile

I have a holiday coming up at the end of this month. My first bikini wear since I had 2 large babies.

  1. No alcohol
  2. No (or very minimal) bread
  3. No sugary snacks, or any pointless snacks. Eat as clean as possible.
  4. Exercise 5 times per week, 4 minimum. DVDs or gym.
  5. Oil, file and buff nails. Stop biting the skin around them.
  6. Drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day.
  7. Take vitamins.
  8. Sort out dry knees as I'll be needing to fake tan before I go. Acid tone them as per MN advice.
  9. Keep feet sandpapered and moisturised - book an appointment for gel toes before I go.
10. Sort out thread veins on legs - already booked in for laser this week so can cross this off already.

I'm sure this could be condensed right down, especially the diet stuff but I was struggling for ten things.

Today I have taken my vitamins and have not eaten bread or snacks. It is not yet midday...

somuchforthecity · 03/05/2015 11:53

Ha I love the idea of 'princessing' myself!

I'll go for:

  1. Drink lots of water (2l a day)
  2. Have a Yakult every day
  3. Eat my five-a-day
  4. Manicure my nails
  5. Put away my winter clothes
  6. Moisturise every day
  7. Get back into double-cleansing
  8. Weekly hair masques
  9. Sort my horrible feet out
  10. Blowdry my hair after every wash

I am sadly noticing that my face powder is getting stuck in facial fuzz I seem to be acquiring but I won't worry about that just yet (have bought some wax strips but too scared to use them!)

GingerLemonTea · 03/05/2015 12:03

I will join. Have friends wedding at start of June & I'm feeling fat, frumpy & grey. I will start tomorrow with...

  1. 2L of water a day
  2. 10,000 steps a day
  3. 5 fruit & veg a day
  4. Remove all traces of make up every night

I will add more as able. Am v sleep deprived.

Leviticus · 03/05/2015 14:39

I had two pitta breads and four chocolate digestives for lunch. Drat.

Nightsweaty · 03/05/2015 17:03

I'm in - starting from tomorrow! I've got 6 weeks till my birthday & my local Race for Life so:-

  1. Drink plenty of water & only 2 caffeine cups of tea a day - decaf rest of time
  2. Plenty of fruit & veg, minimal crap treats a week.
  3. Increase amount of soya & flaxseeds intake - help with menopause symptoms
  4. Exercise daily, whether it be running, walking and/or Davina 7 DVD
  5. Take care of skin inc hands & feet - ordered Footner today!
  6. Try to take time out for mindfulness &/or mediation
  7. Aim for 8 hrs sleep a night.
Karbea · 03/05/2015 17:40

I'm in, I always join these, but I'm frightful at keeping them going.

Will probably update more regularly otherwise I'll fall off the wagon!

I think I'm ok on the beauty side of these currently had all waxing done, eyelash tint and pedi/manicure last week and I've highlights booked for Friday.
Food, exercise and looking like a slob are my issues!
Will kick off a thirty day bikram course from Saturday probably and keep a food diary.

Day 1 breakfast:
Orange juice, black coffee
Brown toast butter and marmalade
Small piece of melon
White egg omelette with spinach, avocado, feta and peppers.
Since then just drank water.

Paperblank · 03/05/2015 18:09

I'm in!!

I am getting married in 16 weeks and am determined to be a blushing, glowing, beautiful bride. Here's my list:

  1. Start C25k tomorrow
  2. Stick rigidly to my skincare routine
  3. 2ltrs water every day
  4. Weekly at home mani/pedi
  5. Aim for a stone weight loss in the next two months.
  6. Sleep, sleep and more sleep.

I'm sure I can add a load more but that'll do to start with.

stuckonchapterone · 03/05/2015 19:19

Wow, the response has been great! Good luck with the challenge everyone!

Paperblank this challenge seems to have come at the exact right time for you! Congratulations Smile

stuckonchapterone · 03/05/2015 19:21

Also, just curious... what time does everyone go to sleep / wake up? I'm aiming for 8 hours, but I have no clue what is best I know it's sad to ask such a basic question, but never mind haha

OP posts:
Nightsweaty · 03/05/2015 20:30

I try to be in bed by 10.30 pm & up 6.30 ish - not, strictly speaking 8 hrs ASLEEP but 8 hrs in bed!!

Paperblank · 03/05/2015 21:22

Thank you stuck

You're right about this thread cropping up at the right time. I am an old gimmer first-time bride and I am also one of the posters who is ashamed of her beauty product hoard.

So all this princessing should help reduce the hoard a bit although I have bought some bits that "I Cannot Use Until The Wedding". They are in a special bought for that purpose vanity case.

Karbea · 03/05/2015 21:44

Ok lunch, I've had a fruit juice probably very high sugar, lots of tacos and guacamole, crab wantons including lots of cream cheese and a sweet sauce :/ battered fish and salad.
Drinking water now.

I try to go to bed at 10, but then faff for at least 30mins. I'm up around 5:30/6, I need more sleep, but it's impossible to go to bed before 10 isn't it?

OvertiredandConfused · 03/05/2015 22:32

I'm in!

Need to loose 10lbs as quickly as possible - having gained it in the last six months following loosing nearly 4st in 2012.

So, mine are

  1. Stick to my Slimming World plan
  2. Get my 10k steps / 30 active minutes on FitBit - stuckonchapterone do you want to be FitBit buddies?
  3. Moisturise my legs every day
  4. Plan my outfits the night before
  5. Sort out my hair style
  6. Stop beating myself up about my weight blip and remember I'd loved to be like this three years ago!
Karbea · 03/05/2015 22:40

And 2 small balls of chocolate and vanilla icecream.

Sloachie · 03/05/2015 22:44

Can I join in? Big birthday this year, and holiday in August so I'm needing all the help I can get!

My aims are:

1 - continue with slimming world - making a half-arsed attemp at it just now but need to up my game!

2 - get waaaay more sleep. I look tired all the time because I AM tired. Aim to be in bed by 11pm every night.

3 - start exercising again. Have been recovering from an injury but should be fine now. C25K is a possibility.

4 - start spending actual time looking after myself - eg regular mani/pedi ( at home!) and defuzzing.

5 - drink more water and less tea/coffee.

That's all I can think of now. Good to write that down and focus on what I want! Major thing for me will be losing weight. Over 2 stone to lose to get to the top of my healthy weight range.

Good luck everyone x

CambridgeBlue · 04/05/2015 07:50

I need to do this, got a couple of events coming up where I'd really like to look and feel my best (one in 2 weeks - eek!)

Mine are:

  • Eat clean and sensible, 3 meals a day, watch the portion sizes and limit snacks, get my 5 a day and preferably more. I need to lose some weight but don't want to get sucked into yet another diet plan or cut out any food group completely so I'd really like to see if I can lose slowly (and hopefully keep it off) by doing it this way.
  • some form of exercise 6 days out of 7, whether that's a walk round the park at lunchtime, Couch to 5K or a Pilates class which I've just signed up for and am really looking forward to.
  • double cleansing every night.
  • minimal tidying of my eyebrows as I'm trying to get them a bit thicker. Keep an eye on random and irritating facial hair that pops up when I'm not looking!
  • drink loads of water and watch the alcohol.
  • keep finger nails filed, buffed and oiled. Just had a pedicure so feet are OK for now but keep them filed and moisturised.
  • de fuzz and moisturise regularly.
  • 8 hours sleep a night.
  • don't buy any more clothes until I've lost some weight when I shouldn't need much as I'll fit into all my old things!
  • commit to my New Years a Resolution of spending as much time as possible doing things that make me happy and say no to stuff I 'should' do but don't really enjoy.

Not sure a Bank Holiday Monday's the best day to start (although I have been trying the past few weeks) but I'll do my best :).

TimeGoesBy · 04/05/2015 08:27

Can I join please? Really want to get my act together for the summer. Did the kondo thread over the winter, so house in order but now need to sort out my body....

  1. 5 portions of fruit/veg per day
  2. no biscuits/chocolate during the week (sat/sun only!)
  3. bring a healthy lunch to work to avoid buying junk
  4. find an excercise class
  5. de fuzz and moisturise post shower
  6. give myself manicure/pedicure weekly
  7. wear more of my clothes rather than pulling on same stuff all the time
  8. Do the 'plank' for 1 min every day (serious jelly belly!)
  9. try a few Pilates moves (off YouTube) for 10 mins every day
  10. be super conscious of posture

Would love to have a bit more energy and generally feel and look a bit better by June. A bit of accountability might help!

lisam78 · 04/05/2015 09:05

I'm in!

Like Karbea, I always join these threads, but always lose my way!

I'll have a think and post my 10 later today Grin

StellaAlpina · 04/05/2015 13:02

Me please, I'm going to Italy in a few weeks. I feel mega scruffy whenever I meet up with my cousins!

Today I will:
eat some yoghurt (I'm a wierdo who doesn't like it so make myself eat it because it's healthy)
start looking through my clothes

StellaAlpina · 04/05/2015 13:04

Oh goodness, 10 things a day. Maybe I will not be a princess just some kind of minor gentry Grin
