Excessive body hair is making me miserable

Please don't tell me I shouldn't be ashamed; I'm not ashamed but I'm fed up.

My legs are like desperate dans. I shaved them yesterday and already they are stubbly. They look like most women's do after a WEEK. Even my legs and toes are hairy Hmm

My eyebrows are okay and can be waxed / threaded but I'm noting an increasing amount on my face including long wiry ones growing from my neck and chin. I pluck three when I see them.

My pubic area is ridiculous. I have pubic hair growing halfway down my thighs and hair removal cream burns me and more pertinently doesn't work. I am utterly fed up.

I don't have pcos or similar. I come from a hairy family. On the plus side I do have beautifully thick swishy head-hair and so do my children. Unfortunately when born they look like baby monkeys. My nearly-1 year old already has a mono brow Hmm

HELP!

A friend has a no no and it hasn't worked, poor reviews on amazon too.

ForSaleChesterDraws · 13/04/2015 16:34

They keep flogging the Nonono on QVC. It gets terrible reviews even on their heavily moderated website.

After one treatment I've already had a few hairs falling out if my chin. This is great as I'll be delighted if it gets rid of my old lady sprouters and tache alone. Too early to say on everywhere else.

You don't have to shave in between but you do have to shave prior to treatment . For the first few times anyway .

Can anyone share any of their experience of professionallaser hair remova (not IPL) inc the specifics - eg what type of laser, you coped with the quite lengthy requirements for avoiding sun pre and post treatment, how effective, how many sessions and over what period. Alsoany side effects?

Thanks!!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 13/04/2015 18:01

Thanks babyiwantabump. Might have to risk the ingrown hairs

Chippednailvarnish · 13/04/2015 19:44

Aridane I'm having my bikini lasered using a lightsheer laser. I've had 10 treatments over the last 6 months, but I have very strong hair. The last three treatments have been just on some small patches that simply won't go!
I had to avoid the sun for about three days after treatment, got the occasional rash after the first treatments but no other problems. I'm very happy (I've also used a boots Smooth skin, which reduced the hair but didn't stop it).

Hope this helps...

Hi Aridane I had six sessions of laser hair removal, each 6 weeks apart. Some people I know who've had it done found it slightly painful, but I didn't, and you can use a gel to numb the area if you find it hurts. My areas were out of the sun's glare so didn't have an issue with keeping out of the sun. Each session took about 10 minutes and after the 6 sessions, I was, and still am, hair free underarm and bikini - absolutely delighted with results, no side effects at all.

So it's a no no for the no no (couldn't resist Smile)

woodhill · 14/04/2015 10:54

good to have the No No negated as it is on in every Neighbours break and it is made to seem like the greatest thing in the world but I have never seen it reviewed anywhere.

Haven't had chance to do my second session yet - will update when I do! Will probably be Wednesday

efeslight · 27/04/2015 21:35

Been considering buying a lumea for a while and finally asked for one for christmas, and am on my second treatment on my legs.
I am pretty hairy, pale skin and dark hair, and i am impressed.
The regrowth seems to be slower.
I aim to be more disciplined and keep on with the treatment in all my various places, whole leg, under arms, bikini area that goes on and on....
Had laser hair removal years ago at £100 for 20 mins i think, so i think this should pay for itself.

Well totally lost the thread! Anyway 4 treatments in and there isa definite difference! Patchy regrowth and growth is definitly a lot slower too! Excellent results all round id say !
