I like this but will I look ridiculous?

Topshop white shirt

I am only 5'2, size 10-12, big norks and very, very pale. But I love it. Opinions, please!

I think it will be too long for you but if you love it you should at least try it on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:31

Any ideas for something similar but a bit shorter? Cotton and elastane mix, ideally.

scarletforya · 15/03/2015 15:35

uhm, it's horrible! Sorry but why?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:37

That was terribly helpful. Thank you.

I quite like it - but you'd definitely have to try it on. It might look really stylish, or if might look like a night shirt or a lab coat once it's on! I like the idea of it with skinny trousers and heels.

scarletforya · 15/03/2015 15:40

You asked for opinions!

WicksEnd · 15/03/2015 15:41

I've just bought a nice one from Warehouse, soft, brushed cotton, just below the bum. Hang on and I'll look for it..... A picture of it I mean Grin

Cocolepew · 15/03/2015 15:42

I think it would be ok if you wore skinny or slim leg trousers/jeans.

lurkingaround · 15/03/2015 15:42

You should try it if you love it. But sorry, I hae me doots. It is very long. I'm 5'6" and I think it would be too long for me. With a belt maybe. But you never know. Worth a pop.

Funkytown · 15/03/2015 15:43

don't like it
and no way would i pay 40 odd pound for something like that

and if you have big boobs then be prepared to look frumpy

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:43

I asked for opinions about whether or not it could be made to work on me. You are, however, entitled to yours.

Skinny trousers, heels and a tux-esque jacket or sleeveless jacket is what I was planning to try it with.

Flipchart · 15/03/2015 15:43

Try it on.
I have something very similar that I wear with black skinny jeans and towering striped shoes and a large piece of statement jewellery ( either a huge bangle or chunky necklace)

It looks good.

lurkingaround · 15/03/2015 15:45

Oh! Now you're selling it to me! That sounds fab Remus! I have changed my mind. Sounds like a great outfit.

GobblersKnob · 15/03/2015 15:46

Its the kind of thing I would love to wear, but would try it on and look super frumpy.

QueenBean · 15/03/2015 15:46

I don't think it will look good, sorry. It will hang off your chest and make you look bigger than you are

I have big boobs and high necked stuff suddenly turns my two very individual breasts in to one matronly looking bosom

There are some nice silky, loose fitting white shirts which are collarless and the buttons start at the cleavage - maybe that would look better?

southeastastra · 15/03/2015 15:47

i like it too, do like topshop shirts though

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:47

Thanks, Lurking and Flip. I liked this one because it doesn't have pockets over the chest, as so many of them do.

I don't think I'd look frumpy. High heels etc should stop that, I think. But a bit shorter would be better.

noddyholder · 15/03/2015 15:47

I like it too I am also busty and could maybe get away with it on a good day with a bit of a tan otherwise it might be smocky

WicksEnd · 15/03/2015 15:47

This is it. In white, it looks much sorter at the front than it does in pink or blue for some reason. It's definitely past the crotch at the front then below the bum at the back. On the website it looks better in pink or blue but it's very nice IRL in white.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:48

Oh and I'd leave a few buttons open too.

OP posts:
SwedishEdith · 15/03/2015 15:48

You'll need to try it on. It's very shapeless and there's a huge chance of just looking boring and dumpy in it. I can't see it adding anything to anyone's wardrobe.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:49

I like that Wicks, but I deffo can't get away with pockets over the bust.

OP posts:
WicksEnd · 15/03/2015 15:49

^ just seen you didn't want pockets on the boobs. Oops!

FrugalFashionista · 15/03/2015 15:52

Remus would this work? I like long curved hem shirts but hate breast pockets...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/03/2015 15:55

Thanks, Frugal. Don't like the neck on that one though, or the price tbh!

The Topshop one is as expensive as I'd be willing to go.
