Apparently, they're baaaack!

I did them first time round (teenager in the early 70s).

Never again.

Ergh. I'm petite and they just look stupid on me.

Skinny jeans/trousers on the other hand elongate my legs, so they're great!

UrchinMadeOfAcne · 01/02/2015 15:48

Flares are back in fashion, I read it in my horoscope!

Seriously though, aren't they supposed to be flattering for the large of thigh? If so, I'm all for it. I hate skinny jeans and I'll be glad when they fall out of fashion.

MargoReadbetter · 01/02/2015 15:48

No. Not flares, not culottes. I'm not 18 and it wouldn't look good. Not so much to do with the age but with the shape.

dexter73 · 01/02/2015 15:50

They don't suit me. I'll be giving them a miss.

TheRealMaryMillington · 01/02/2015 15:52

I will, or at least wide legged trousers. Not jeans. With blouses, slim fitting tops.

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 01/02/2015 16:51

No, never....I shall be clinging to my skinnies forever more. Flares drown me and ankle boots look awful with them.

noddyholder · 01/02/2015 16:54

I love them very flattering but I can only do with heels and blouses 70s style In flats I would look dire.

UrchinMadeOfAcne · 01/02/2015 16:58

I love that look. Love it!!

MorrisZapp · 01/02/2015 16:58

The model in your pic would stop traffic dressed in a sack though noddy! My sil is tall and slim and looks great in flares but the rest of us... not so much. Or at least not without serious heelage.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2015 18:36

These are styled abysmally but the actual jeans look as if they could be v flattering, with a heeled boot.

noddyholder · 01/02/2015 18:48

Those would suit me more than most jeans I think

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2015 19:01

I have a friend who always wears similar and has never trod the skinny path. They really suit her - she's short and curvy, size 12. Always wears them with heels, a cami, and a cropped cardigan.

Those are seriously testing my frugal feb resolve and its only day one!

Honeydragon · 01/02/2015 19:04

Oh fab, I'm a short arse but do manage to pull off flares.

Will pin cord ones be back too? [hopeful]

missmargot · 01/02/2015 19:11

I love skinny flares especially and will definitely be wearing them. Skinnies don't suit me and I find straight legged hard to find the right shoes for so I'm pleased flares are back.

UrchinMadeOfAcne · 01/02/2015 19:14

I have an hourglass figure, big bust and backside. Size 14/16.

Am I right in saying flares are good for my shape? Also a bit of a short arse.

KatherinaMinola · 01/02/2015 19:20

Do you think I can just bring out my old flares and wide-legged trousers (early 2000s) or is there anything new to consider in the styling?

Lagoonablue · 01/02/2015 19:23

Was just thinking that it was time for flares/ boot cut to make a comeback. Like them or not I think they are on there way back. Skinnies will hang around for a while but I bet we're all in them by next Xmas!

TheHappinessTrap · 01/02/2015 19:27

Some of them look more like boot cut, don't they?

Either way they wouldn't suit me.

itsveryyou · 01/02/2015 19:27

Oooh yes! Flared jeans with chunky wedge sandals and a cute top. Love this look, I'm 5ft 11 and slim-ish and I think it suits me.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/02/2015 19:30

My MiH Marrakechs are being taken up by my tailor at the moment and I can't wait to wear them! For now I'll wear them with acne pistols and a pea coat, and in the summer with some platform sandals and t-shirts/blouses. Love the sound of pussybow silk tops.
I have little legs and the high waisted long legged style really helps to balance me out. I think they need to be floor skimming though. I have some old ones from a few years ago which barely reach the tops of my feet, I can't believe I ever wore them!

punygod · 01/02/2015 19:33

HOOOORAY!!!

That is all.

ELR · 01/02/2015 19:34

Yes I will def wear them, they suit me quite well. I'm size 12, 5ft4 and curvy. Def need wedges with them though.
