Actually it does have considerable charm these days, I will concede.Grin Norwich is a damn sight nicer than it used to be.

Happy skiing hols to tilly and hatty. Looking forward to hearing updates.

cremo that sounds so romantic. Must have been the red shoes...

CV like the sound of that barn conversion! I don't know Norfolk but don't people do a lot of messing about on boats around there?

auriga you are a truly good person to help BIL in that way. But maybe now is the time to set limits if resent ment is building up?

I am packing frantically in the hope of getting on the road to Sussex by early afternoon. It seems I have to pack everyone else's stuff so they can "travel" light when they join me by train on Monday afternoon. It's frantic here...and then there's the home work we have to take with as well. Angry
beachy if things change let me know.... Smile

beachyhead · 14/02/2015 10:38

I would like to place a bet that on CV's kitchen side is one box of truffles in a gold box, one bar of Belgian chocolate and one box of waffley biscuits SmileSmile DS said there's one shop that serves all the schools and just processes them through. He met two local friends from two different schools, all doing the same rounds...

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/02/2015 10:49

Where did you go, then, Ruby? Grin

We are out for beer and sausages tonight, for DBIL's birthday. I don't think a German Beer Hall will be full of romantic couples.

Norwich is nice, and there are some fabulous beaches, but I am not sure what else you would do with bored teens in Norfolk. I am happy to be told otherwise.

Friday the 13th lived up to expectations - Dh fell off his bike twice and I am now about to take him to A&E for an xray on his wrist which is painful and swollen. Sad He also has a beautiful black eye. Happy days. ..

motherinferior · 14/02/2015 13:14

Oh nooo, NU!!!

motherinferior · 14/02/2015 13:15

Btw I do hope Monty's boss didn't hand her a pearl-handled pistol and leave her in a room to "do the decent thing"....

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2015 14:31

Afternoon, my crepey Valentines.

After a nice exchange of soppy cards and a gentle ladyjog we were treated to brunch prepared by the DDs. Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup, and a yogurt and pineapple

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2015 14:35

.... (whoops, pressed the wrong button).... Anyway, DD2 put some pink food colouring into the yogurt concoction as a nod to Valentine's Day, so it reassembled a small bowl of Pepto-Bismol. Tasty, but disconcerting. Grin

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2015 14:40

And yes, Beachy, we have chocolates. Small praline seashells and a box of macaroons.

motherinferior · 14/02/2015 14:56

I have done a fairly long walk with DD1 (through the park from our house to Lewisham and back) and am feeling migrainey and bought two woolovers sweaters.

Valentine's Day here something of a damp squib. First of all it was 'Let's just agree to not do presents but make a nice meal', then it was 'I hope you're not expecting a card'. Now he's in the pub with a friend, and I've been shopping for the food for the meal tonight. I'm not feeling terribly romantic, but no doubt will have to do a sex tonight.

My DP is like yours WAF. No random snogging as it would give him false hope. Or Unwarranted Optimism, as I believe MI would have it.

Rosebag · 14/02/2015 16:17

NU that sounds painful.....hope nothing major is broken or ruptured.

We don't do Valentines Day...at my suggestion. DH generally takes me at my word. Hmm

I am in a Macdonalds on the A24. I am having only tea. I are my slimming world whole meal roll in the car. No chips ...nought.

Yes indeed...Monty where are you? X

Rosebag · 14/02/2015 16:18

Ate not are

Blackduck · 14/02/2015 16:30

I always said if Dp every gave me a Valentine's card I'd assume he was playing away...... (Never gone in for that romantic thing)
I am in London with D's and dp is back home with DDog relishing his friend on and the lack of noise.

Hope everyone who wants s lovely romantic evening gets it.......

lalsy · 14/02/2015 17:00

HM and BTM, have lovely times on the slopes, and Rose on the beach. Sod homework (easy to say I know - ds has loads this holiday).

Arf at Unwarranted Optimism.

Well done Herbs on the lesson!

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2015 18:46

We are here! The journey was much better than I had thought, despite having to queue for an hour for petrol and a bit of a jam after GenevaSmile
We are now at our lovely friends with beers, crudites and gourmet food to come Smile

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2015 19:48

Sounds wonderful, BTM.

I have a vat of curry brewing. DD1 has been dropped off at a party with a couple of friends, all dolled up in black bodycon and Nike Airs. Hmm The house reeks of popcorn, fruity body spray and singed hair.

Big family lunch here tomorrow to celebrate DSis's and my birthdays (we are going to the pub opposite, so no cooking, thank goodness). I'm looking forward to hearing all about DSis's house move which happened this week. She didn't move far (a couple of miles) but the new place looks lovely, and will no doubt give me a serious case of house envy.

Blackduck · 14/02/2015 19:59

Wine and TV - happy valentines :)

herbaceous · 14/02/2015 20:03

I'm in a valentines grump. Not helped by being hungover from last night. I said to DP that valentine's day has been downgraded from 'let's cook a lovely meal' to 'I hope you don't expect a card, I'm off to the pub, you get the tea on', and he got huffy because he claimed I was implying he was always like that. I wasn't, of course, as he knows, but he always shuts down any dissent like that. So I don't bother complaining about anything, and just get resentful instead.

Anyway. Wine. Then Wolf Hall. Then lovely lamb shanks in citrus sauce.
