Here you go...

OP posts:
Auriga · 13/02/2015 18:54

Have a wonderful trip BTM Grin

Stropperella · 13/02/2015 19:01

"feeling used" is not good and only leads to unpleasantness eventually, ime, Auriga. Go and snog dh and then tell BiL you can't give him as much as you thought you could. Grin

Hatty, I feel your pain. I have had a long, hard week and have treated myself to a Wine as dd is somewhere a 15 min walk away and she has not answered my enquiry about when she would be back. So now she will have to walk in the rain. Tough. (mind you, I say that now, but I'd like to bet that in about 1.5 hours I will be walking the dog in the rain to go and meet dd. Not so tough. Bit pathetic, in fact Grin )

Stropperella · 13/02/2015 19:02

Yes, hope the journey goes smoothly, BTM, and there is not too much snow chain wrangling.

bigTillyMint · 13/02/2015 19:11

Thanks Crepesters. But don't worry, I will be posting regular rants updates to keep me sane!

hattymattie · 13/02/2015 19:29

MI - I have sent her out in the rain but DD2 went with her to the bus stop so I felt better. Stropps - we are too nice to them - and it's true they are supposed to be young adults and learning to manage.

BTMGrin - we have the same daughters - are you leaving tonight? It's first day of Parisian holidays here so the roads will be crowded. Snow forecast in the Alps this weekend.

bigTillyMint · 13/02/2015 19:33

No Hatty, we are leaving at 5am tomorrow. Can't wait to be stuck in the car in traffic jams. We are going to Haute Savoie. Where are you going?

beachyhead · 13/02/2015 19:43

Good journey, BTM.....and commiserations Auriga. You sound like you've been here before with BIL?

Hectic two days here for some reason. Less children but more sick dh, ddad and wet dogs.... Our big news is that yesterday we let the idiot new dog OFF THE LEAD for about 5 mins on the beach and he came back. Dh and I were very, very brave and extremely self congratulatory afterwards!

Fab blind fair today.... Best quote from dad 'Beachy, do you know what a memory stick is?'. We showed him. We also showed him a boom box, talking software and introduced him to a fantastic blind veteran who can teach him to use his new computer. Smile

CointreauVersial · 13/02/2015 19:49

Good doggie, Beachy, I hope he was rewarded lavishly for his behaviour.

Auriga, that's not good (the money lending I mean, not the snogging). If it were me, Conditions Would Have Been Attached, like seeing someone about debt management.

Anyway, must go, DS has just returned from the battlefields.

hattymattie · 13/02/2015 20:04

BTM - Valmorel - but next week. Tomorrow I'm going for 4 days to my parents' with DD2. They can't take more than two of us at a time now.

CointreauVersial · 13/02/2015 20:08

Have a super time, BTM.

beachyhead · 13/02/2015 20:08

My battlefield warrior returns at 1130pm! Just spotted someone who used to work with me is on Mastermind tonight...

addle · 13/02/2015 20:17

Happy Birthday WAF!

Have a lovely time BTM and HM

Auriga, maybe just start by saying can't let you have that much? Everybody's right - feeling used not good. though champion snogger otoh v good.

Didn't know about magnesium either

motherinferior · 13/02/2015 20:20

Those blind vets are fab, Beachy. I have been writing about eyes all day. Though not getting enough work done, which is not good as I now have quite a lot coming in.

beachyhead · 13/02/2015 20:32

Ha ha, read that as blind 'veterinarians'. Scary thought!

I forgot to respond to Rose's kind offer of a Sunday wander, sorry. I'll be a bit stuck with dd2 as the boys are off at a rugby tournament in the other direction....

wordassociationfootball · 13/02/2015 20:34

Quality snogging here but can't be attempted apropos of nothing. Is shagging version of red rag to bull.

Just complained to lovely neighbour that I am very tired after Pilates at lunchtime. Turns out she has done 2 x 16 hour days. I am lightweight. Courage to all packing for away. Mine are off tomorrow for 4 nights. I get to stay here and write. I am locking with Fi router in shed when I get up.

Thanks all for birthday wishes. Yes, we are many query arses aren't we?

wordassociationfootball · 13/02/2015 20:35

Meant queery obvs.

Stropperella · 13/02/2015 20:43
hattymattie · 13/02/2015 21:02

Beachy - I thought blind veterinarians as wellConfused Blush

WAF -Happy Birthday.

BTM - safe driving - you have my respect as we start at 5am from Paris. We normally get to the Tarentaise at about 12.30.

Blackduck · 13/02/2015 21:03

Where's my post gone? Bugger....
Too tired to type it again...

bigTillyMint · 13/02/2015 21:37

queery arsesConfused Grin

WAF, that kind of snogging would suit me fineWink

cremolafoam · 13/02/2015 22:03

Dh not a champion snogger, but he has other talents
Ime the Great Snoggers were not the marrying kindGrin

Bonne Route BTM.
Have a lovely weekend with the dps Hatty!

The romantic dinner was superb. I had the most delicious steak with truffle butter and amazing gnocci fritti.
And a tremendous cherry souffle with a kirsch chocolate sauce. Amazeballs
And Prosecco
And good chit chat with dh.

I am vaguely restored Smile

Blackduck · 13/02/2015 22:21

Cremo sounds fab!

Auriga · 13/02/2015 22:23

satisfactory evening all round then Crem? Hope DH is now about to deploy his other talents Grin

Yy beachy, it's deja vu all over again with BIL. And you're right CV, attaching conditions seems sensible & constructive but it has no effect. And we long ago gave up the pretence that it's a 'loan'.

Lovely evening here with DNephew, spaghetti bolognese, a real fire & Wolf Hall, which everyone enjoys thanks to the subtitles for DM Grin

Happy w/e everyone

Auriga · 13/02/2015 23:56

Oooh and Beachy, well done to DDog. What a breakthrough. Big pats on the back all round Grin

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2015 00:27

Battlefield Boy had a great time and possibly, just possibly, learned a few things.

Oof, Valentine's Day tomorrow. Card is written, and the DDs were talking about making heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast. I fear I may have to get out of bed to assist.

DB has completed purchase of a holiday home in Norfolk and has asked us if we'd like to be "guinea pig" guests over Easter. Yay, free holiday! The house is in a barn conversion with indoor swimming pool, but I need to do some research about Things To Do In Norfolk With Bored And Cynical Teens Who Aren't That Keen On Outdoor Pursuits.

MI, QQ - you are Norfolk experts, aren't you? What is worth seeing? Although I suspect MI will be recommending "the road out". Grin
