Is anyone princessing for 2015?

OP posts:
hauntedhenry · 17/01/2015 18:34

Hello princesses Grin
I enthusiastically joined this thread at the beginning but never got round to making a list. Can I please rejoin?
I still haven't done the list but I have been making an effort. So far I've done the following:
Massage and facial
Read Sali Hughes' book
Invested in a serum and a facial oil
Started using an acid toner
Filed nails and massaged with oil
Booked a hair appointment

Next week I intend to:
Go to the hair appointment Grin
Drink lots of water
Exercise 3 times
Not drink alcohol on weekdays

Hopefully I can keep to that.

For the poster who asked, mfp is an app called My Fitness Pal. You use it to log meals and exercise and it counts the calories. Hth

hauntedhenry · 17/01/2015 18:40

Oh, and I need to sort my feet out. I had shellac or something on them in the autumn (groupon cheapie) and it wrecked my nails. I might try to give myself a pedicure tonight - anyone have any tips for repairing damaged nails?

TeaAndALemonTart · 17/01/2015 22:42

I'm up for this, will do a list tomorrow.

appleblossom23 · 18/01/2015 22:03

Hello folks

welcome to the new princesses Wine Cake Flowers

I've got a few days off so will attend to a few pressing issues from my list (looks down at hairy legs...) and I've also been reading the Kondoing threads and am preparing myself to princess my house Grin

KiaOraOAotearoa · 18/01/2015 22:20

Oh, hello, here you are!
I couldn't find you before :) only took me 18 days!
So, the plan is pretty much as before.
Exercise at least 3 times a week.
Hot water and lemon.
Vit D3 on running days (no relation, it's just so I don't kill my kidneys and also to remember taking it)
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate.
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.
Hair appointments.
Manicure and pedicure weekly.
Accesorise! (Have been wearing very plain clothes, think navy, grey, lots of black and I need to brighten up a bit)
Lose a stone. Basically stop pigging out.
Drink a pint of water before any meal.
Facials.

frankie80 · 19/01/2015 13:09

I've been slipping with my princessing Blush

I must get back into it, especially the diet and exercise!

OP posts:
appleblossom23 · 19/01/2015 20:07

ah feck..... tough day....wine...crisps....sofa....laptop Blush

KiaOraOAotearoa · 20/01/2015 05:15

I've been off for a few days, alas it wasn't for lounging about with good books, wearing cashmere socks. I feel absolutely crushed, mentally and physically. So I am going to pilates today. I went to bed at 8.30 last night, read a few pages and then pinged up like a spring at 4.30.
I about to shred as soon as I am reasonably awake, shower and then work.
Can anyone recommend a homemade hydrating mask?
appleblossom, I am not a healthy eating freak per se, but I'll always make my own cakes/sweets. I am at such a low, I went and bought custard from Lidl and I am looking forward to sit down and eat the whole tub with a serving spoon. Just because I need some comfort food.

Must moisturise hands more. They look old and wrinkly and dry and unhealthy.
Must book (today) a massage for my next day off. I feel like I am carying a pile of bricks on my shoulders.
Managed to have my eyebrows threaded at the weekend, they look nice.
Also must book a pedicure.
Hope everyone is good :)

Wenchelda · 20/01/2015 08:12

A bit late to the thread, but can I join please? I've started doing a few things already but definitely need motivation to keep it up .... I am pretty much permanently knackered (2 young children) yet never manage to get to bed at a decent time and before Christmas had slipped into a daily habit of eating chocolate/biscuits/crap that I need to stop.

My list is:

Stop snacking on crap
Use mfp (been doing this for 2 weeks and have lost 3lb but struggling to stay within my daily calorie allowance)
Exercise 20mins at least 4 times a week
Proper cleanse/tone/moisturise routine
Take my vitamins
Drink more water
Keep nails tidy
Go to sleep earlier at least twice a week

I think that's it for now. Oh and I've also sorted my wardrobe into "outfits" so I can wear it all rather than keep putting on the same things over and over again..

That's not too ambitious, is it? I've wanted to lose weight and feel better since this time last year but could never stick to anything so hoping I have more will power and motivation this time round.

Joey8 · 20/01/2015 15:03

Definitely giving this a go!

Already joined my local Body Combat exercise class (oh my...it really works ladies!)

Keep my feet looking nice - get rid of hardskin/ manicure etc

Organise wardrobe and outfits. Get rid of anything I don't wear - no excuses!

Make more of an effort in the mornings and start wearing makeup to work again. (That ones going to be hard to motivate myself to get up earlier and do!)

Set aside time in the week to relax, maybe start yoga?!

AtlanticDrift · 20/01/2015 18:10

Im joining too
As of last week I have
-been shredding as many night as I can (3 last week & so far have done 2 nights in row this week)

  • making 3 types soup on saturday to freeze & have for lunch at work without bread
-no choc bar at break time -water all day -smaller portion dinners in evening -face exercises -doing nails at night after dc go to bed in front of tele

I'm doing well so far. Clothes & hairwise wise I'm fine as this is an area I will always give time to

appleblossom23 · 20/01/2015 21:33

KiaOra sorry for your emotional and physical crush state Flowers been there many a time - hope the custard was ace.

Hi to all the new folks, lovely plans! we'll be lounging round in cashmere socks, reading good books and looking all swishy in no time Grin

appleblossom23 · 23/01/2015 14:05

How's everyone doing? I'm not feeling swishy or princessy at all but am resolutely taking my vitamins, drinking water and the last few days I've had some really long walks which I'm sure is good for all sorts of stuff. I've got a few days next week with not much planned and so I'm thinking of doing an at home spa day type of thing. Do my nails, exfoliate, bath, maybe a nap in the day. It'll all have to fit into the 6 hours when the kids are at school - any ideas or suggestions?

Favouritethings · 23/01/2015 20:06

Hello princesses.. Please may I join?
It's my 30th next week and feeling pretty sad at leaving my twenties - this will give me a new and positive focus!

Favouritethings · 24/01/2015 08:36

Okay. Here we go..

1)Drink 8 glasses of water every day
2)Cleanse, tone and moisturise
3)Keep nails filed and polished ( it's one thing that people always notice and compliment me on... When I actually do them!!)
4)Dance for 2-3 mins to a song every night (had to steal it from a post further up.. Awesome idea)
5)Keep up my kettlesize one a week
6)Cut down on the junk
7)More fruit and veg
9)Get waxed and threaded
10)Sort out my wardrobe and look into House of Colour

appleblossom23 · 24/01/2015 19:54

Welcome favourite - lovely list, seems very achievable. I'm curious about House of Colour too, but am afraid due to Bridget Jones's mum Grin

twoandahalftimesthree · 25/01/2015 22:18

Doing well with some things but still need to properly prioritise this princessing business!
I have managed to not work during the evenings which is a big achievement for me. I think I need to do some sewing or knitting though as I get a bit twitchy just watching tv in the evening.
I've done a few face masks and beauty things and (mainly) kept up my routine with eating and drinking. I've only lost a couple of pounds though and think this is due to lack of exercise.
Just got back from a yoga class now and trying to figure out why I don't go more often as I feel so great when I have been. I think it's finding the time as takes at least two hours- not always easy to find two kid-free hours when I'm not working or tired after work or want to spend time with the kids and/or dh.
So, I have decided I need to add in early morning yoga practice at home every day. I have tried this before and not managed it. The number one thing needed is to get to bed early though so I'd better head up now!

KiaOraOAotearoa · 31/01/2015 08:37

Hello all. Have the january blues caught up with you all?:)
My skin is really suffering, so I've been drinking lots and using almond oil constantly. I also booked some holiday, the countdown to scorching sun has begun.
I pancilled exercise in both my own diary and the family calendar. DD is particularly good at checking it and reminding me I need to get up and do my exercise.
The plan is to run two days a week, shred two days a week and do pilates once a week. And to keep the mfp updated.

Very pleased with my summer wardrobe, bought a few dresses and floaty trousers, I just need a couple of tops and I'm done.
The underwear drawer has been updated and I threw away all my old tights (you know, the ones that 'will do') and bought some new ones from m&s.
January is 'organising' month for me. I made a list with the stuff I want to achieve in terms of socialising, parties etc. Booked tickets for the main events for this year.
I am doing this saving the pounds equivalent to the week, but I started at the end of the year, I saved £52, £51,£50 and £49. I am going on a girly holiday with the money next January, hopefully.
Also 'booked' in my diary an evening a week for an erly night/free of screens evening.
I was very spoilt and received a beautifully scented candle which reminded me of enjoying the little things. So on my early evening I'll burn this candle and just stare into space. I hope.
Feb is reserved for finishing any house jobs I have, redecorating etc. And hunting for beautiful cards to send throughout the year. And hybernating a bit after a manic december and january.
And before I know it it'll be march and everything will be in bloom :)

Favouritethings · 07/02/2015 16:49

What is shredding?
I definitely have the January blues! I hate the post Xmas slump!
I had my hair cut and highlighted last week, it desperately needed doing and 'feels' much better.. But I have been growing it for ages and it looks so much shorter again! So frustrating, it's like she just cuts off what I've grown!
I'm aching after Kettles yesterday morning. No pain, no gain as they say!

Mamab33 · 07/02/2015 18:59

Princesses hair removal. Hot wax or strip wax? Hot wax is slightly more expensive. Think I've had strip wax (fabric strips placed over liquid warm wax and ripped off)

appleblossom23 · 09/02/2015 22:15

I have been rubbish. Haven't done any exercise in weeks and my nails are all crap looking... Oops. Will try and do a list (and do it!) this week.

Mamab I had a hot wax for the first time ever last month. Previously had strip waxes a lot, but this was a revelation. Yes more expensive, yes took a bit longer, but way less painful and a very neat and tidy result. I'm converted Smile

Will be back with a list of tasks.

Mamab33 · 10/02/2015 15:03

Thank you apple. Going to get brave and get the wax done! Yes nails need some attention here too! Also hair cut and a few walks would help Smile

KiaOraOAotearoa · 11/02/2015 21:36

favourite, search in youtube 'shred with Gillian Michaels', 30 min only but quite intense :)

I must must must look better after my hands. The dry skin cuts are so deep and painful it's something to be seen!
So I bought some hand scrub, about to file them nicely and trim the ragged bits, got the cotton gloves out, I'll smother them some lansinoh on and go to bed like this.
Face mask is programmed as well. Tomorrow I'll have my eyebrows threaded and go for a run.

Off topic a bit, it's the season for oranges, bought a bag for snacking on. They are the first fruit of the year to come in season, they taste sooo nice! So, been doing really well with healthy snacking, but I was gettig a bit bored with apples and bananas.
:)

appleblossom23 · 13/02/2015 11:57

Hmm so I dyed my hair, did an extensive manicure, face mask, dyed eyelashes, tidied eyebrows, epilated my legs and have been rewarded with a lovely crop of spots on my chin. Marvellous. At least my nails look nice!!

lavenderhoney · 14/02/2015 01:28

Can I join in? I've been struggling alone and a thread would be great:)
My list -

I've just done footner and kept my socks on at yoga after showing the ladies why and freaking them out:). Moisturise properly after a bath, including feet!

Hair colour and cut and major waxing in two weeks time.

i must excerise more even during school hols and have just downloaded gillian michaels and six pack thing. Also asked babysitter who lives nearby to babysit during the day for an hour if she can whilst I go running. Still cheaper than the gym at weekends:)

Keep up oil cleanser and Rose hip oil for face and neck and lower:)

No carbs. No coffee after midday and early bed, and drink 2 litres of water a day. Tea does not count:( no wine either:) (!)

Get out all clothes and try them on and be very ruthless about binning anything scruffy.

I do lots of things mentioned already, I'm a bit slack in some areas though.
