2015 princessing?

frankie80 · 03/01/2015 21:01

Is anyone princessing for 2015?

OP posts:
BreeVDKamp · 10/01/2015 15:14

What do you do with them, just add them to the bathwater? What does it do?

Also what is cowashing please? :)

So far today I've done:
2 20 min workouts
Shaved legs
Washed and trimmed hair
Eaten healthily
Lemon and hot water

Going to straighten hair and do toenails at least this avo.

Little things can have such a big impact on my mood!! :)

DustWitch · 10/01/2015 19:10

Yes, just add about two cupfuls of Epsom Salts to the bath, it's brilliant for aching muscles, has detoxifying properties and is good for your skin Smile You can use it for lots of other purposes too: www.epsomsaltcouncil.org/beauty/#

Co-washing is washing hair with a silicone free conditioner instead of shampoo. It sounds weird but works really well if you have naturally wavy or curly hair as the sulphites used in shampoo cause damage to curly hair. If your interested, have a look at the Curly Girl threads on here. It's done absolute wonders for my hair which I could only really straighten it or wear tied up before.

BreeVDKamp · 10/01/2015 19:14

Awesome, thanks!

aoife24 · 10/01/2015 19:15

Oh dear I read that as not letting' jizzy' juice past your lips Confused Blush

BeetlebumShesAGun · 10/01/2015 19:43

I'm in! Getting married on 3rd April. Already working out 3 x a week and religiously sticking to MFP but need to start really taking care of myself, I'm so sick of looking a mess. Will have a look through posts and be back later with my list Smile

echt · 10/01/2015 20:14

So far from my list:

Re-done toe nail polish from scratch with base coat, two layers of colour and top coat.
Gone to next level of C25K
Tidied up fingernails
Bodybrushed twice
Kept to 5:2

All the talk of massages has got me thinking and I'll look to booking one. One thing you can't move for at shopping malls in Melbourne is walk-in massage shops. I'm always fascinated by them because if the punter doesn't mind, and it's a shoulder/neck massage, they're sitting quite publicly being pummelled by the (always) Chinese masseurs/euses. I'd be a bit self-conscious about being spotted by my students, so will go for the curtained booths.

lulu12345 · 10/01/2015 21:35

Adding my list - feels a bit long and ambitious but starting enthusiastically! Know I feel better when doing these things. Am 4 months pregnant and skin is a mess with spots hence all the facemasking.

AmeliaPeabody · 10/01/2015 21:44

Also finding some ideas from this thread, and need to do a list.

What I have been trying to remember so far is nightly hand cream. Also regular hair masks, including those made from natural ingredients.

PixieofCatan · 10/01/2015 23:53

Right, definitely doing this as there are only 118 days until my wedding :o Getting DP to join forces with me for some of it as he needs to lose some weight and I need him to come to the gym with me as I'm shite with will power!

I've just ordered a FitBit One, so that will arrive in the next week. I also caved and ordered a tube of L'occitane hand cream, I've been using my bosses and it is miracle cream for my hands! My hands get very dried out at work and by the end of the day are split and bleeding, but using this stuff has helped so much more than the other creams I've tried. Given the price I'd expect it to though! Shock DP has excema and he was impressed with it too (used it last night whilst babysitting with me).

I have a big list but most of it is just "normal" things that aren't going to be too much hassle once I'm in a routine:

Daily:

  • 2 litres of water a day
  • Chest stretches
  • Multi-vit, Flax oil, MSM, Glucosamine, St Johns Wort and Desunin
  • Aim for 10,000 steps daily
  • Think about posture
  • Floss
  • Plank
  • Don't bite/pick at nails
  • Wash face morning and night
  • At least one portion of raw fruit or veg daily
  • Cut down portion sizes, I eat way too much

Frequently:

  • Swim every second day
  • Body brushing (2/3x week)
  • Use gradual tan body lotion (2x weekly)
  • Moisturise all over with coconut oil
  • Meditate (2/3x weekly)
  • Exfoliate body (2/3x weekly)
  • Have an all-veg dinner (2x weekly) (I'm a vegetarian but we have a lot of grains and fake meat)

Weekly:

  • Join beginners pilates class (1x week)
  • One early night a week
  • Trim nails and file them
  • Pluck brows weekly
  • soak and scrub heels

Beyond that:

  • Use laser fortnightly on legs and belly, possibly arms
  • Get a haircut in Feb and May

Things to think about/look in to:

  • Weekly 'spa ritual'
  • A proper nail routine
  • Facial yoga
  • The horrendous dark circles under my eyes, probably caused by Vit D3 deficiency but I have had them since I was a child!
  • Yoga

I'm going to concentrate on a few at once. For the next week I'll make sure that I take my desunin and start building that up as it makes me queasy to have the full doseage, it's prescribed Vitamin D3 and a common side affect at first apparently.
I've bolded the other focuses for this week.

BeetlebumShesAGun · 11/01/2015 15:46

Ok so here is my list!

  1. Stick to diet religiously. MFP and eat as "clean" as I can - no processed junk.
  2. Continue excercising at last 3 x a week - at the moment I do 2 PT sessions a week and 1 Kettlercise Blast class.
  3. Skincare routine - cleanse, tone, moisturise every day, morning and night.
  4. Teeth whitening toothpaste and flossing.
  5. Stop biting my nails
  6. 2 litres of water a day.
  7. Regular hair removal (possibly bite the bullet and get first ever wax)
  8. Monthly eyebrow wax
  9. Take care of my lips - they are always chapped. Any suggestions to fix this welcome Smile
10. Footner! 11. Exfoliate and moisturise every day 12. Take care of my hair and find ways to wear it up instead of just hanging on my shoulders

Sure i will think of more!

appleblossom23 · 11/01/2015 22:56

Bloody phone ate my message!! Angry

The basic gist - hurray for all the lovely ideas and lists. But not hurray for me: I need to up my game and stop using work as an excuse to eat chocolate and not look after myself. Though I did do my nails today. And my hair is looking lovely since starting co washing. So not all bad.

Fender1 · 11/01/2015 22:58

I'm in too, this is just what I wanted... Grin
I will be back tomorrow with my list

BotoxBitch · 12/01/2015 07:58

Ememem84 · 13/01/2015 09:39

Have been moisturising every day and remembering to take vitamins.

Legs have been defuzzed every other day.

appleblossom23 · 13/01/2015 12:51

What's everyone's favourite form of exercise? I did C25K last year and run a bit now but nowhere near as often as 3 times a week. I've done the 30 day shred. I like tracy anderson's mat and post pregnancy DVDs... I might be in the market for something new to get me interested in regular exercise again. So tell me your faves, thank you! Flowers

Ememem84 · 13/01/2015 13:59

I've just returned from an outdoors run. I never run because I hate it. but today the sun is shining, it is cold, but it felt like an outdoors day so off i trotted round the reservoir near home.

it was nice being outside, but i still hate running.

much prefer a gym class - spinning, or body pump, or thai boxing or something like that. there's a set start and finish.

Birdies · 13/01/2015 14:13

Marking place :)

Mrsstevejones · 13/01/2015 16:50

I need this just emerging from a baby bubble and seriously need to spend some time looking after myself.

  1. Green smoothies for breakfast
  2. Take vits and fish oils
  3. Do a Jillian DVD everyday, have a choice of two
  4. Cut out processed rubbishy food
  5. Start 5:2 again
  6. Get haircut and highlights done - booked in yay
  7. Facial at salon and then start at home maintenance
  8. Paint toes nails - even though no one sees them, pretty toes make me smile
  9. Drink loads of water
10. Wear some make up everyday as i appear to have no eyes if I dont wear eyeliner

That would be a great start. Really would like tooth whitening to get rid of nicotine stains after stopping smoking.

BeetlebumShesAGun · 13/01/2015 18:17

Well today I have managed to:

Cleanse tone and moisturise
Whitening toothpaste and floss
Intense 30 minute session of PT
Stick to my calorie limit (so far!)
Drank over 2 litres of water.

Going to have a bath tonight and exfoliate and all that Jazz.

Methinks I need a longer list.

appleblossom23 · 15/01/2015 21:27

Just checking in

Still taking vitamins and fish oils
Had a lovely long walk today - freezing cold and windy but I was wrapped up warm and the sunshine was beautiful.
About to have a nice hot bath and (hopefully) a long sleep

twoandahalftimesthree · 15/01/2015 22:20

Had a great weekend away and walked for miles and miles so that makes up for the excess of wine consumed. However, I've had no wine at all and eaten 20:4 and mostly paleo since for damage limitation.
In Dead Sea salts (run out of Epsom) bath now after doing nails. Facial on the go next with ren glycolic mask which is brilliant for my skin.
Two weeks today til my 40th and am determined to look amazing!
Already lost two pounds, just want to shed 4/5 more before party as these few pounds seem to make all the difference to how I look. Dress for party is very clingy so it's a good motivator!
Next on the plan is loads (and I really do mean loads) of beauty treatments. I want massages, facials, eyebrow threading, spray tan, pedicure, manicure- the lot. Must get them booked up ASAP!

Sleepyhoglet · 15/01/2015 22:23
