Is anyone princessing for 2015?

OP posts:
appleblossom23 · 07/01/2015 13:59

Ta dah's for today:

did an exercise dvd
am about to go for a walk
had multivitamins and fish oil
have had about a litre of water
deep conditioned hair
had a think about booking a bikini wax but haven't actually done it yet....

appleblossom23 · 08/01/2015 11:32

Morning all

Just been for a lovely run in the sunshine - I did the couch to 5k plan late last year, inspired by some people on the Countdown to Christmas thread. One of the best things I've ever done.

Also inspired by MN, I'm co washing my hair and so far am loving it. My hair has never felt so soft and lovely. I put some coconut oil on it yesterday and far from making it greasy, my hair seems to have soaked it up!! Very happy Smile

Had my vits after the run, need to drink lots of water and eat something healthy today - yesterday disappeared in a heap of carbs..... Blush

mowglik · 08/01/2015 11:45

appleblossom did you go through a greasy stage? I'd love to do this think it would be better for my hair long term but am scared of going through a fugly/greasy stage!

So far I have kept up with my vitamins, booked a wax session for today, also have a massage booked today which I need as the toddler has been projectile vomiting all over my bed :(

Am also thinking about learning how to do a quick diy hair cut so I can keep on top of it at home

appleblossom23 · 08/01/2015 13:07

No mowglik I didn't actually, however I did use a clarifying shampoo to get all the silicone out of my hair before I started. i used that for several washes actually to see if that was all I needed to do to improve my hair, which was greasy at the roots and very very dry at the ends (attractive Hmm ) When I still wasn't happy, I bought a really cheap silicone free conditioner and started using that to wash with. used a much richer but again silicone free one to actually condition the ends (if that makes sense?) before I rinsed it all out. I still "wash" my hair every couple of days but just don't use shampoo and my hair feels the best it probably ever has. Someone asked me yesterday what I'd done to it, because it looked - in her words - so vibrant. Brilliant! Grin

in terms of the coconut oil, i started cautiously, having had a terrible time with it when I'd tried it previously. Vile, greasy, but hair actually still dry - it was coated in silicone and so the oil just sat on top. Now it can actually be absorbed, things are a lot better. I use probably about a generous teaspoon or two, melt it in my hands and massage it in, mainly at the ends. I leave it on for a few hours, or overnight and then wash it out, just using that cheapie conditioner and my hair feels happy. Sorry for wittering on! Hope some of this has been useful xx

appleblossom23 · 08/01/2015 13:08

PS re the home haircutting - I'm petrified I'd end up looking like a hedgehog.....

Hope the massage is lovely. And your toddler gets better soon.

mowglik · 08/01/2015 17:42

Thanks appleblossom your experience sounds pretty positive I remember looking into this years ago and being scared of the greasy stage esp as I have fine hair.. I used to use coconut oil too but found it never really absorbed well maybe I have the same issue with product overload!

Had a great massage I should count that as one of my weekly goals as it puts me in such a good mood after Shock toddler is eating and also in good mood so all is good atm Smile

hydeparkhottie · 08/01/2015 18:39

involved!

I will, try low carbing
I will drink water --tonnes more
I will walk at least 5 miles a day (either around town or at the gym)
I will maintain manicure every week
I will maintain a pedicure every 2 weeks
I will sleep every single night.
I will wear make up in the day
I will moisturise at night
I will dance to one 3-5 minute song EVERY single day.
I will take 2 minutes every day to enjoy everything I do have.
I will cherish my family every single day.

appleblossom23 · 08/01/2015 21:33

I LOVE the dancing idea hydepark ! Brilliant! I might steal it!

frankie80 · 08/01/2015 22:34

today I curled my hair so I'm doing well with the styling rather than 'washing and going'

no one noticed though the bastards

Also bought myself some new clothes and jewellery

Can I join too?

I will:
Actually attend my bootcamp class twice a week (did really well last summer but have let it slide)
Run 5k twice a week
Stop buying crisps
Go to bed at a proper hour instead of watching horrible TLC shows
Cleanse and mosturise properly EVERY night not just on makeup days
Stop finding reasons to dodge the dentist and JUST GO!

What is MFP please? Do I need to do that too?

PixieofCatan · 09/01/2015 08:56

Marking place for a lurk tonight and tomorrow. I intended to do this before, joined a thread and made my list and then promptly forgot Grin

I'm getting married in May so I should really do something Hmm

twoandahalftimesthree · 09/01/2015 09:12

I am 40 in three weeks so definitely up for this. I want to look good for my party at the end of the month, I've just ordered a dress for it and decided I need to tone my upper arms a lot little in order to pull it off perfectly.
So, I'm wearing wrist weights while I'm typing this and plan to wear them around the house while I'm doing housework etc. Also, I'm taking a day off work today and I'm dressed and ready for the gym, which I will follow with a sauna. I'll be off once I've finished a few chores.
I am also doing 20:4 diet during the week (its a type of intermittent fasting when you only eat during a four hour window each day) I don't bother with it at the weekends but it's so easy during the working week. I also try to stick to paleo foods as much as possible so keep off the sugars and carbs. No booze unless we're going out.
The biggest promise I'm making to myself is to not work in the evenings. I usually work almost every night, and I will have soooo much more time for princessing if I stop.

Already doing:
Vitamins every day
Body brushing and moisturising every day
eating 80% paleo
20:4
Drinking 10 cups herbal tea

So, my list is as follows:
No working at home (unless official working from home day)
Take lots of days off work
Go to bed early (be upstairs by 10.30 so plenty of time for evening beauty regime)
Yoga or gym followed by sauna at least 3 times a week (ideally more)
Home facial once a week
Footner (soon, so its all rubbed off in time for party) then professional pedicure.
Go for a spa day (or two!)

appleblossom23 · 09/01/2015 16:42

Ta dah's for today:

Long walk in the lovely sunshine
Vits and fish oil
Pretty healthy food so far
Booked bikini wax Smile - been meaning to for ages. V chuffed I actually rang them!
Have had about a litre of water. Need to get some more drunk.

Hope everyone's having a good day

Ememem84 · 09/01/2015 16:52

I'm in. I am going to try and do the following:

  • drink more water
  • drink less wine
  • eat more veggies
  • eat less meat
  • gym at least 3 times a week
  • be outside more
  • cleanse face properly every day
  • look after hair
  • style hair properly
  • take multi vitamins.
  • shave legs more often (not just once a week)
  • more regular bikini and eyebrow waxes.
  • exfoliate face and body once a week
  • moisturise face every day (and maybe every night)
  • moisturise body every day after shower.
  • floss.
twoandahalftimesthree · 10/01/2015 08:31

Just set off for weekend away and realised I've forgotten my vitamins- never mind. On the other hand, I have nice new make up to use tonight and dh and I are kid-free for two whole days!!
Did power plate a bit of yoga and had a sauna yesterday then went out shopping, so a lovely day off for me. A late night last night but planning afternoon nap today as soon as we can check into hotel :)

magicpixie · 10/01/2015 08:33

What are mfp

Elllimam · 10/01/2015 09:40

Oh this sounds like something I need. My list -
exercise daily
Only drink water or very diluted fruit juice (not that hard as I'm still breastfeeding)
Moisturise morning and night
See to my hairy eyebrows weekly
Cut down salt and sugar
Start relaxation exercises
Take a daily vitamin and omega 3

BreeVDKamp · 10/01/2015 10:03

Me me me!!! Having DC1 in May so will have to re-jig my list after then. For now:

  • trim hair regularly (always do it myself anyway)
  • wash hair more often, straighten afterwards instead of leaving it like a haystack
  • wear earrings if I have my hair up
  • shave legs more often
  • wax bikini line more often (for as long as possible until I get too big!)
  • hot cloth cleansing and moisturising every night
  • keep eyebrows neat and tidy
  • use my tweezerman blackhead remover when necessary! (Love it, it's a treat for me ha!)
  • lip balm and epaderm hand cream every night
  • floss and remember night guard every night
  • keep nails filed (easy as I keep file by the sofa)
  • moisturise bump every night
  • exercise as much as possible - been v lazy over xmas! Pilates and yoga starting up again next week, walk to work and back 3x a week, DVDs and walks on other days, maybe swimming.
  • keep toenails painted nicely and pumice heels
  • pelvic floor exercises every day
  • EAT LESS PROCESSED SUGAR!!!
  • continue drinking 2L water per day and eating lots of fruit and veg
  • keep the flat tidy and therefore less stressful

Im excited!

BreeVDKamp · 10/01/2015 10:18

Oh also - bit less princessy - stop having lie ins, get up and doing stuff!!!

BreeVDKamp · 10/01/2015 10:20

And! Lemon and hot water every morning!

Ememem84 · 10/01/2015 10:31

So far this morning I have :

Showered, cleansed face and moisturised, taken vitamins, shaved legs, and have dug out old pedometer. Just to see how many steps I can actually do in a day.

appleblossom23 · 10/01/2015 11:53

ooh lots of lovely ideas. I need to get up in the mornings too, instead of pressing the snooze button again and again. If I was the sort of lithe vigorous woman I yearn to be, I'd be up at 6 doing some marvellously awakening exercise before the kids wake up. In actual fact, I press snooze five times, crawl out of bed in search of coffee and spent the rest of most days trying to catch up with myself!

Bikini wax is done, everything else is epilated, I'm a smidge pink and blotchy but when that calms down, I'll be smooth and lovely!

Planning to do roots and nails tomorrow

twoandahalf have a fabulous weekend. We're all jealous Grin

frankie80 · 10/01/2015 11:59

MFP - my fitness pal website

OP posts:
DustWitch · 10/01/2015 12:19

I would love to do this! There are some great ideas on this thread.

AppleBlossom I have been co washing for about two weeks and it has made a huge difference to my hair. I am naturally curly but my hair was always been dry, frizzy and unmanageable. I now have lovely soft corkscrew curls and have received so many compliments! Someone actually asked me if I had had it permed. I'm using Tresemme vibrant naturals conditioner to co wash then scrunching with boots pink curl creme before wrapping my hair in a cotton T Shirt to dry. I'm definitely going to try coconut oil to use as a deep conditioning mask.

So I'm going to keep on with the co washing.
Cleanse and moisturise twice daily and use a face mask once a week.
Continue to avoid alcohol.
File and paint toenails once a week.
Take vitamins daily.
Meditate three times a week (have already started this using DeStressify)
Five portions of fruit and veg.
Substitute tea through the day with herbal tea.
Detox bath with Epsom salts once or twice a week. Confused

That's as far as I have got so far but will keep watching this thread for more ideas!

Ememem84 · 10/01/2015 13:23

Yes. Epsom salts. So glad someone else does this. I though I was the only wierdo one
