MISad about DF.

Is Gabor not good then? . The boots look fine to me Rose but yes go for black.

I went in to buy some towels I''d seen in Zara Home, got distracted by DD wanting a sexy nightdress for her school play and forgot the wretched towels. I had a vision of crisp hotel like bathroom ware.

Am feeling grumpy as DH went to Lyon so won't be back till 9.30 and I'm starving.

herbaceous · 16/01/2015 20:28

Gabor is good, just rather, shall we say, 'sensible'.

My oh my, crepes. I really am bushed. Can't keep my eyes open. I'm allowed a night off my studies, aren't I? Do I have your permission to slob on the settee in front of some piece of crap on the telly?

CointreauVersial · 16/01/2015 20:36

Permission granted, Herbs.

I'm drinking gin and scoffing a macaroon. Not strictly low carb but it needs eating.

hattymattie · 16/01/2015 20:37

I may watch Friends with Benefits on Film 4.

MontserratCaballe · 16/01/2015 20:47

Are you doing the low carb bootcamp CV? I need to shed a bit. Everything is too tight. The ladyjogging should helpme I hope but I've twisted ny ankle so can't go for a bit.

Herbs, sounds like you did a cracking job today. Gin and rubbish tv well deserved.

MI, sending you strength for tomorrow. Sorry it's shaping up to be especially tricky. Will be thinking of you all.

Hatty, my towels are all ancient and rough too as we don't have a tumble dryer. I crave hotel style towel bales too. I also have no dh thoughts don't know why or indeed where he is. I have a toast chicken in the oven though so will tuck in without him if he doesn't rock up soon.

MontserratCaballe · 16/01/2015 20:49

Rubbish typing - on kindl, sorry

Blackduck · 16/01/2015 21:02

I don't care if they are sensible - nice boots Rose, but yes black....

MI sorry about DDad being an arse.
Here curry (no rice) and no wine..... I was hoping the weight might drop off on the dry Jan but I can't say I have noticed any difference......

Herbs enjoy your Friday night!

Auriga · 16/01/2015 21:13

Like the boots - what's wrong with Gabor? Some of the best shoes I've ever had.

Feeling a bit better again. DH drove me to work & walked DDog while I did my stuff.

We stopped to buy fish for dinner on way home but then DDog stole it off counter top (possibly with connivance of DCat) and ate almost all of it.

She waited till we'd bought, cooked & started enjoying another dinner, then began to be lavishly & evilly sick. Dealing with this is my job of course, as everyone else is too squeamish Shock Angry .

Good to hear of others' successes, sartorial and professional Grin Grin

I'm going to a matinee at the King's Head in Islington tomorrow. Anyone nearby for coffee / snacky lunch?

motherinferior · 16/01/2015 21:45

Auriga, at least DDog pinched food.Grin

QueenQueenie · 16/01/2015 21:53

I am very nearby Auriga and would love to meet up but am at a meeting all morning until after lunch... what time will your matinee finish? Cup of tea afterwards?

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/01/2015 22:00

Gabor shoes are comfy. I'd buy the boots in black, Rose.

I am feeling unsettled. This usually heralds a period of bad behaviour. Which is not appropriate for one of my age.

Blackduck · 16/01/2015 22:10

What type of 'bad' behaviour MrsS?

cremolafoam · 16/01/2015 22:13

These are the red lovelies I did not teeter once!Grin

Mrs S I'm feeling feisty too. Dh remarked that I should write a restaurant blog, as I seemed to spend the whole meal making pithy remarks about various aspects not being As They Should.
I do not require a waiter with 'personality' . that is all.
Dinner was ok, but reminded us both why we don't go out to eat locally ( in the neighbourhood anyway) any more. There are of course places in town with plenty of hutzpah and vibe, but I won't be rushing back to the bistrot local any time soonConfused

Blackduck · 16/01/2015 22:19

Ohh err Cremo verrrrry nice....

Rosebag · 16/01/2015 22:35

Those red shoes are very sexy Cremo ...sorry the restaurant was a bit meh. I love our local eateries but I don't have a very discerning palate.....
Also thinking Herbs new dress find is sexy. I am feeling anything but...however amazon has those boots at an ok price. I'll have to order half a size up because I need to wear orthotics these days and they don't fit my existing flat knee highs or my bikers. Feeling my (soon to be very) old age very keenly. I used to run for buses in stilettos.
Would love to have met up near islington, Auriga but I'm working until 5 tomorrow Sad.
DH has gone out to meet DS2 who went for a Fri night dinner at a religious house. Hmm I need some sleep. Yawn.

cremolafoam · 16/01/2015 22:42

Thanks BD- they are my only proper lady-shoes. For daywear I have a pair of boys DMs (Blush)

Me too Rose; this week I'm beyond tired tbh. Sleep wellSmile

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/01/2015 22:47

I have cocked up big time and failed in the Mummy stakes. DD2 wanted to go shopping tomorrow morning and then on to roller skating in Welwyn Garden City. I had to book a ticket online, apparently. Just went on to the site, and the session her friends are going to is all sold out. Sad

QueenQueenie · 17/01/2015 01:00

Have pmed you Auriga.

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2015 07:32

CremoEnvy at the shoes - gorgeous

Oh dear MrsS. Can she go and watch them with a hot chocolate (paid for by you, of courseWink) and take photos? That's what DH does!

I was woken up at 1.30am by the sounds of doors squeaking and the ancient macerator in the loft (wonder how much it would be to get a quiet one installed) as DS has a couple of mates stayingHmm

NUFC69 · 17/01/2015 08:55

Oh dear, MrsS, that's the kind of thing that I do. I hope you can sort out a reasonable compromise.

Love the shoes, Crem. I am curious to know about the tights you wore with them?

We have some very good restaurants locally: in fact the problem is that now every time there is an empty shop a new one opens. In fact people come to our small town from Newcastle just for the restaurants.

I have just done 30 minutes on the exercise bike - first time I have sat on it this year. DH has gone to badminton so quiet here for a couple of hours.

beachyhead · 17/01/2015 09:25

I love those shoes Crem, but my feet give me so much grief, I'm pretty stuck in Gabor too (which I love for work).

I've had an emotional roller coaster week, with many late nights with dh drinking wine and discussing this school change. Strange how one issue with one child can completely pull on every emotional string possible, but you can deal with other decisions logically. I feel exhausted and just want it done now. We are going up for the meeting with the head teacher in early February, so we should be sorted soon.

Quiet couple of days here, thank goodness. Might try and drag dd1 to the local art gallery to give her some inspiration for the endless portfolio sheets she's creating.

bigTillyMint · 17/01/2015 09:33

Beachy, how did the date go???!
I agree, issues with the DC are so emotionally draining. Sounds like you are dealing with it well though.

DS has just come down with disgusting, sick-covered sheets. Says he threw up in the night, which explains all the squeaking doors. He never throws up and looks fine, so I'm just wondering if it was one of the others.
I scraped the sick off as best I could and bunged them in the machine - is that right? So long since I have had to deal with sick-covered sheets!

Rosebag · 17/01/2015 09:53

tilly I have to admit shamefully that I throw sicky sheets away. Poor you especially if it was one of the others ....
Oh heavens mrsS I'd build a fallout shelter.....maybe she could queue for returns?
Might order those boots later. Meanwhile I am freezing waiting for my class. I'm horrified that tfe clients have to attend such a place. I'm worried there will be complaints. Apparently we are only allowed to have one of the three heaters in the room, on. Confused

Rosebag · 17/01/2015 09:55

Hang on in there beachy. It will get sorted for the better x

motherinferior · 17/01/2015 09:58

Off for pre-op lunch with parents.
