Lalsy, I have 2 pairs of isotoner slippers - one boot and one mules. Great for high arches and I have never fallen down the stairs in them!

lalsy · 04/01/2015 09:28

Oooh I was wondering about isotoner....thanks

lalsy · 04/01/2015 09:29

The Homey ones seem to be every other size and I am the inbetween one. I will stop talking about slippers now.

Blackduck · 04/01/2015 09:55

I have today and tomorrow (hoorah) .... Dreading Tuesday...

motherinferior · 04/01/2015 10:21

Tomorrow is a 'learning review' day so two (2, ii) trips to school to talk to teachers. Hence my 1,000 words yesterday.

DD2 and I are going to attempt a genteel jaunt to Crystal Palace while DD1 (currently lounging in bed) "finishes homework". DP en route to TMAWDNSIN.

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/01/2015 12:20

MI - LOL at TMAWDNSIN. Grin

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 13:11

I have foolishly come down to watch DS play. Kick off is not for an hour so I am in the clubroom with all the geezers!

addle · 04/01/2015 13:41

lots of isotoner in tk maxx usually

Mrs S - I am being chased round the internet by ads for giesswein slippers - is v cheering

CointreauVersial · 04/01/2015 14:11

Am contemplating an afternoon in the loft, sorting out old clothes.... maybe I'll have a cup of coffee and a think about it first. Don't want to rush things. Wink

I was up earlyish today, after a ring on the doorbell - behold, it was the lovely courier chap and his mate, coming to mend the garden wall demolished by his van back in October - hoorah! The wall is still a heap of s*t but at least it's now a heap of s*t back in one piece. To have it looking really beautiful would cost a whole heap of money, as it retains our front garden.

DS is playing the first match of the season, but I haven't heard yet how they got on. Tough opposition, and a rough bunch - there was a dad's punch-up the last time they met. Shock

Slippers... I don't think mine would be of interest - they are Sheepland sheepskin slipper boots; cosy as can be, but not really structured enough for crepeys unsteady on their feet. Wink Grin

Have survived the first half. Just. Wish I had some slippers on inside my boots!

motherinferior · 04/01/2015 14:49

My feet are only now warming up from our shopping jaunt, BTM!

wilbur · 04/01/2015 15:17

Why am I so tired? I have done bog all for the past two weeks and rested, ffs! Have just finished off the last of the mince pies (warm with custard for Sunday lunch pudding, mmm) and there is only a sliver of Xmas cake left, so Crimbo definitely over here.

In honour of the new year, I have ordered these which I really hope are what I need as the last time I ordered similar boots, the heel was too high for everyday. Gratifyingly, I had been eyeing them full price and then they halved it! An S&B Smile. Dh has taken dcs for damp bracing walk on the Common as they were almost ready to kill each other. Then we have to persuade them that gathering uniform and equipment for school is a good idea... I'm pretty sure there were nametapes missing from various expensive things, so that'll be my task for the evening.

hattymattie · 04/01/2015 15:39

Bit worried as DD1 fainted for a few seconds on a bike ride with DH today. This is completely unusual for her and apparently was accompanied by twitching limbs as in a fit. Then she got up, was fine and insisted on continuing the bike ride.

She seems fine now but I want to have her completely checked out before she goes back to uni. What is weird is she does a lot of intense sport and has no trouble and today she had barely started cycling.

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 15:46

Oh that sounds worrying Hatty, though surely quick recovery is a good sign? Has she been eating well? (Sound like DM!)

Wilbur they look very smart and a bargain.

My feet are now so cold I can't feel them, but DS team beat last year's league winners 4-0. And I did actually enjoy it!

hattymattie · 04/01/2015 16:02

She eats like a horse BTM - I am wondering if it's something to do with ladies' problems. Her periods are quite heavy. I'll try to get her iron checked as well.

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 16:19

I was just thinking that might be a possibility. Best to get it all checked out

Auriga · 04/01/2015 16:36

Did she have any warning of the episode, Hattie?

addle · 04/01/2015 16:38

Hattie, iron sounds quite likely - I was a bit prone to this and rather anaemic at that age

Crepeys all - not as exciting as slippers - but ... pepper grinders. Can anyone recommend a solid, effective, not battery driven pepper grinder please? Can't tell just by looking and the rubbish ones are driving me mad.

Anyone fancy BP with BTM and me next Sun afternoon?

hattymattie · 04/01/2015 16:44

Auriga - no warning whatsoever - she said her heart started racing and then nothing till she came too. She felt fine before and afterwards. I told her to watch her iron at uni as she does so much sport - although she's had plenty of beef during the holidays.

hattymattie · 04/01/2015 16:46

Addle thanks for the reassuranceSmile .

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/01/2015 16:57

DD1 and I have been watching Les Parapluies de Cherbourg this afternoon. I can thoroughly recommend it. Not impressed with Netflix - I put in 5 films into their search facility yesterday and they had none of them, and most were years old, bog standard things like When Harry Met Sally. Cats are cosily asleep on the arm chairs and have got the Christmas tree lights on. Smile

DD2 wants to go to Paris for half term to see some of her friends. I do not want to go to Paris in February at all, and am trying to dissuade her.

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 17:08

LOL at pepper grinder! We have an enormous one, bought by DH's bestie in NZ as a wedding presentGrin

And I did Grin when I read that she had plenty of beef this holiday, wondering if it was you she had the beef with (have spent too much time with DS this holiday!)

bigTillyMint · 04/01/2015 17:09

MrsS. is she old enough to go on her own yet?

Auriga · 04/01/2015 17:14

Hattie I would suggest your DH needs to go with her to the doctor to give an eyewitness account and answer questions she can't answer herself.

hattymattie · 04/01/2015 17:15
