I have, at last, sent off my Secret Satan present. Well, I have caused it to be sent. It is making me chuckle, so I hope it has the same effect on the recipient.

BTW, I got mine a few days ago. It took me a while to work out what the mysterious package was all about...

Decided while out at the toy museum that DS simply Must Have a Playmobil castle for Christmas. Got home to order it, and lightly soiled myself at the price. I am now eyeing up eBay!

bigTillyMint · 12/12/2014 15:17

Hatty, you have just reminded me to call in at the PO on the way home!

Just done the first of our performances and one of mine won it - quite a lump in the throat momentSmile

Herbs, Secret Satan present? Sounds verrrry interesting!
And I bet your DS would love a Playmobile castle!

herbaceous · 12/12/2014 16:01

He totally loved the many castles we visited in Tenby (after at first declaring them 'boring'), and his favourite book is all about castles. I love Playmobil, so I'm hoping to get him into it via the medium of castles.

lalsy · 12/12/2014 16:01

Herbs, a playmobil castle was one of our best ever presents, weeks of fun for all the family.

wordassociationfootball · 12/12/2014 16:08

Be warned Herbs... the playmobil hospital took me 9 (nine IX) hours to assemble.

Was lovely to talk ethical pants with MI last night.

herbaceous · 12/12/2014 16:23

Bought one! Not the exact one I wanted, but it was £21 for castle, massive trebuchet, many figures and a dragon.

DP's erstwhile assistant was involved in setting up WhoMadeYourPants - I have a pair, and very comfy, yet racy, they are too.

motherinferior · 12/12/2014 16:25

Would have been nice to see DD2, the Smallest Girl In The Swing Band, playing the Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B Wink She was sitting next to a particularly glam blonde sixth-former who reminded me of the Alan Plater play 'The last of the blonde bombshells'.

Blackduck · 12/12/2014 16:49

Here Ds is now an 'international ambassador' AND got a letter praising his history ELA to the skies Grin

Rosebag · 12/12/2014 16:53

Sad to hear about beachys MiL. Thanks
lalsy enjoy your proud mum moment. We all need to hang on to these, don't we.
I am still in bed. My heads splitting and the pills are only taking the edge off. DH is home and making spag Bol from his limited repertoire but it's welcome tbh. It smells good and comforting. DD has a show tonight and is getting into costume. dS2 has phoned from Krakow and is in good shape. dS1 is coming for supper. They are rallying round and I feel grateful. I'm not thinking about my dinner party til tomorrow. I made the chicken, the soup and the tart yesterday. Hope no ones DHs or other loved ones are caught in the air traffic outage chaos.

Rosebag · 12/12/2014 16:57

dH has just bought me a hot drink and a plate with a choc digestive, a custard cream and an after dinner mint. I am breaking my no carbs fast for it.

bigTillyMint · 12/12/2014 17:33

Yes Lalsy and BD and MI, enjoy your proud mummy moments!

Rose, sorry you're suffering.

I'm chillin with candles and fairy lights - DS off with his mate and DD on her way home...

MrsSchadenfreude · 12/12/2014 17:54

Beachy - so sorry to hear about your MIL.

I am exhausted but at least the 13 hour days are now over. Just next week to get through and then I will be off for Christmas. Small yay. And managed to stay awake through Phantom last night.

Thank you for my secret satan (as Herbs called it). I will try and post mine tomorrow...

I would like poached egg on toast and tea, in front of a crappy Christmas film. Instead, I am cooking a large lump of gammon for tomorrow's lunch with the outlaws. We are having gratin dauphinois with it, plus red cabbage and broccoli. Don't know what to do for pudding.

QueenQueenie · 12/12/2014 18:12

Sorry to hear your sad news Beachy.

Back from Cambridge and reclining on the sofa with a large cup of tea. Ds thinks it all went well so whatever the outcome it was a good experience for him for which I'm truly grateful. Managed not to say anything too annoying or unhelpful I think which is also a big relief!

Good weekends to all...

bigTillyMint · 12/12/2014 18:20

QQ, that sounds good.

MrsS, lunch sounds lovely!

Just DD and I here for now,. so I have had chapter and verse about the dramas of her life and she is now watching Jeremy KyleHmm

hattymattie · 12/12/2014 18:25

QQ - good news from DS - may I ask what he's applied for or is that not form on MN?

Rose - migraine sounds awful - wishing you well for tomorrow night - try and get some sleep. Great the family is rallying round though.

Lalsy well done to DS - proud mum moment.

Have already had wine as DH in Lyon so won't be back till at least 9 pm. Tonight is family tradition pizza and Haagen Daaz with Have I Got News for You.

motherinferior · 12/12/2014 18:28

DD2 has gone out with friends to the junior school concert. DD1 has streaming cold and feels sorry for herself. I have been doing not enough work and should now stop in any case. Still wrestling with difficult feature...

MontserratCaballe · 12/12/2014 19:23

Very sorry to hear your news, Beachy Flowers

Glad it went well, QQ. When do you hear?

Rose my love, I think you should down tools and try to do a little as possible. You sound utterly exhausted and I think you should let DH and enfants take care of you until you get your mojo back.

RIght, need to tart myself up for a night out with my girlfriends. Still fancying the egg on toast and sofa option, but needs must. Happy weekend to all Smile

QueenQueenie · 12/12/2014 19:55

I'll pm you Hatty...

Blackduck · 12/12/2014 21:04

Migraine rosebag? Mega crap - I've been there - not good.

QQ good news.

I have had a mega curry and am watching Russell and Nigel on Question Time.... Hmm.,,,.

beachyhead · 12/12/2014 22:22

I loved that last night - best bit is when the audience start slagging each other off!

We've all been happily in pyjamas since 8pm and are now off to bed. #notmissingchristmaspartiesatall

We need a special Proud Mummy emoticon.

I'm another - went to see DD in school play tonight. She was completely at home on the stage, full of confidence and conviction. Lousy play, though and a scandalous waste of time and talent. Can't understand why the school isn't more ambitious. We were doing Murder in the Cathedral when I was her age.

Happy weekend, everyone

bigTillyMint · 13/12/2014 07:48

Rudy, well done to the one who did OKish - you were worried they wouldn't even manage that! Hopefully they will go up rather than down by the time they do the real thing!

DD is planning to go into school this afternoon after coaching and tomorrow to finish the projects she could have done in Y10. She also has machine embroidery to do in the hols and I am very worried that my machine wont do it as it hasn't before.

It looks like I'm on the gym run as DH came in some time late last night...

MontserratCaballe · 13/12/2014 07:56

Well done on the results, Rudy. Great stuff. Is this going to help with A level choices?

Auriga, your DD sounds amazing in her performance. Pity the play was not much cop though.

NIce night last night but late. I am not cut out to be going to bed after midnight. It's the piano exam today. Just heard some scales played badly so I'd better go and supervise. I hope she will let DH take her as my blood pressure may not stand it. And I've got to make a huge cake for DS's party tomorrrow, after the ballet / drama watching here. Better shake a leg, I think.

Happy Saturday, y'all Smile
