Pandering to the uncouth... Grin

OP posts:
cremolafoam · 21/12/2014 16:40

Love Hema homewares. When db dd and Sil lived in Amsterdam, I usually made a beeline to it. They couldn't understand my fascination.Grin

cremolafoam · 21/12/2014 16:42

Dd is home . Don't mind the green hair, or the shaved bit up the side. Don't mind the conversion to vegan ism . Don't mind the casual chitchat about being bisexual( really dull IMHO)but I do feckin mind the tatoo.AngrySad

beachyhead · 21/12/2014 16:45

Aaaah, just shrieked loudly at Crem's dd's news GrinGrinGrin

hattymattie · 21/12/2014 16:49

Oh no CremSad. I'd heard tattoos were out now because everybody had themConfused.

Lalsy - thanks for the recipes - I'm going to print them and put in my recipe folder.

Our radiators are only lukewarm and I think need to be bled. DH cannot be bothered until he is on holiday ie. Tuesday.

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 17:08

What are you going to feed her on Christmas Day?

lalsy · 21/12/2014 17:10

Aaah Crem Grin.

Hatty, great, let's update in the New Year with more recipes.

MontserratCaballe · 21/12/2014 17:19

Good lord crem, the veganism would present the shortest term problem but the tattoo is, we, more tricky. What does it look like? And where on the body?

Wimbledon bad enough. Glad I wasn't in town.

MontserratCaballe · 21/12/2014 17:19

And hank you for the recipes, lasly.

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 17:20

Can I have the recipes too?

bigTillyMint · 21/12/2014 18:02

CremoShock! Where is it and what is it?!

How have I missed this Hema place?Confused

Lalsy, I couldn't get my recipe link to work Sad

DD, DMIL and I are relaxing in front of the TV and DH, DS and DFIL have gone to watch the match in the pub!

Rosebag · 21/12/2014 18:15

Oh CV I too have my fingers crossed that they sort out your shower etc. and you can get rid of all this bathroom grief once and for all!
BD the meal sounded dead posh and hope the enjoyment in it makes up a bit for the rubbish work situation.
Cremo gosh. Well the tattoo is a fact now. I would feel the same...loathe them. But would have to accept if one of the DC went and got one...after calming done from a monumental mummy-tantrum, of course! How big is it? is it visible?
Glad Crepeys are getting through the last minute shopping in one piece.

Things are very trying at my end. DM having had a better day yesterday, got symptoms again this morning. She's due back at the doctor tomorrow, and I'm supposed to be driving to the flat with DD. None of the others ( by which I mean my siblings) say they can go with her on account of their Important Jobs. This is not unusual. I wish I was important. Sad

hattymattie · 21/12/2014 18:21

Oh RoseSad

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 18:23

Rose, time for a sister-tantrum?

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 18:24

Rose, have also emailed you (am on phone and can't link) a thread where you're needed!

cremolafoam · 21/12/2014 18:48

On rib , just under pancake boob.
Letters. A phrase which is quite positive actually. I can't see it so I can live with it. Dh is FURIOUS and doing passive - aggressive silence.

Back to the wrapping.Confused

Rosebag · 21/12/2014 18:48

Thanks MI there's a lot going on in that thread isn't there!! I don't give professional support in that way but MNHQ has also intervened with sources of help. Some of the advice from other posters is a bit questionable too!

Sorry I don't mean to come over all pathetic and sorry for myself. I just feel surrounded by people who have such a strong sense of their own importance. DH says I have an inferiority complex....

bigTillyMint · 21/12/2014 19:06

Pancake boob? Surely she's too young - fried eggs maybe? Well at least not many people will ever see itSmile DH would be furious too.

Rose, you should have started the conversation with I can't take DM as I'm driving to coast, etc, and as I have done the last x times, I thought you would like a chance to do your bit Wink

MontserratCaballe · 21/12/2014 19:20

Rose, we didn't manage the festive champagne in Selfridges so we must do a new year glass. You are massively important and work so hard for your family so don't feel you don't contribute as you do, in huge amounts. Have a restful evening FlowersWine

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 19:49

Rose, I think it's really hard for many of us who work freelance to feel valid in terms of work and the outside world. I do also know you must have made a crucial difference to huge numbers of women. And I've just quoted you as an ExpertGrinGrin.

Cremo, what ARE you going to have on Thursday for dinner? DD1 adores quorn simulacra of real food (I wouldn't!) but it's not vegan...

bigTillyMint · 21/12/2014 19:57

There was a veggie pancake dish on Sunday Brunch that looked good, but vegans don't do cheese, eggs or milk, do they? Nut roast?

beachyhead · 21/12/2014 20:10

Am liking her style, Crem.... DD1's first reaction to your first post was 'What, all in the first term?' and then was 'Where and what is it?'

I'm thinking 'meaningful quote under flat boob' is probably OK. in the scheme of things....

I wouldn't worry about Thursdays dinner - she's only recent and might not have worked out the rules yet!

Thanks MI for the alternative suggestion. I am coming to London tomorrow and heading for Oxford Street between 7.30pm and bedtime and am weirdly quite looking forward to the idea. Actually, I'm just looking forward to the being on my own thing, which is sadly lacking at this time of year.

I'm still very achey from being pulled over by idiotdog on Friday. I leant down to pick up poo, was quietly tying the knot in the bag, when he shot off on the 10m lead, leaving me lying in the sand, face down, holding, when I came up for air, an empty bag of poo! I screamed for ds, who came to my rescue. After ascertaining the poo wasn't in my hair, on my coat or anywhere else we can see, we decided it was sufficiently buried.....

I'm still not that fond of that dog outside, inside he's fine.

MollyAir · 21/12/2014 20:14

Crem, I would be appalled by the veganism not the tattoo, personally. The tatt is nowhere that anyone ever will see it, no? Wink I nearly had a fit when dd converted to vegetarianism but veganism would make me blow a gasket. Although in fact the conversion of dd to vegetarianism has, as she constantly reminds me now, resulted in her having a far far healthier diet. And she wears vegan DMs.

Rose, I could not agree more with MI with the lack of validation for freelance people. It was my downfall. I couldn't bear it.

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 21:01

To be serious some of my best friends (including the one I went to India with) are vegan and I was veggie for years - spurning quorn and similar simulacra - but changing plans for a big meal at short notice would throw me.

bigTillyMint · 21/12/2014 21:09

Nut roast is very nice and easy. Your DD could make it. And just serve with the usual veg.

I would be amazed if my DD ever turned vegan. And I would bet my life on DS never going over to the dark side!

motherinferior · 21/12/2014 21:22

I've never fancied the idea of nut roast somehow. A bit 1930s Fabian Society IMO. I do realise AIBU though. And in truth do try to produce vegan meals once or twice a week in the Inferiority Complex.
