Cremo, that club sounds hilarious! I particularly love the Crepey skirt making an appearance among all the designer gear. Do you think it might catch on (and where is it from, BTW?)

Emails - mine are only primary and I am about 400y older than most of their teachers, so I tend to go for "Dear Tom" and sign off "Best wishes, Monty". I use my home email which doesn't have sign off bits on it, but perhaps for secondary I'll use the work email which is a Uni and has my status on it....

Rose, sorry about the choir shenanigans but well done for saying you have had enough. I have been known to go along with things for some time to avoid rocking a boat, and then I just spend hours seething with resentment about joining in. Your day sounds nice. A g & t sounds fab, but after the amount of booze I consumed on my little holiday to Edin, I think I will need to be teetotal for some weeks to sort out my units.

MontserratCaballe · 24/11/2014 13:09

Thank you, too, Rudy for the SS email. I have purchased and am looking forward to sending a little nearer the time.

CointreauVersial · 24/11/2014 13:17

LOL at Crem's glitzy evening. Nothing like a nightclub to make one feel about 101 years old. Grin

Have dealt with tomorrow's clash of bathroom tradesmen by asking the nice flooring company to delay until Friday (luckily they had a cancellation). Now the builder has gone strangely quiet. What's the betting he wants to rearrange for Friday?

Blackduck · 24/11/2014 13:49

Cremo Grin

I find Dr. Blackduck works a treat.......

Here have survived the audit without having to stretch the truth too much.....but other rubbish continues....

I think I owe ds an apology for being so foul yesterday - may take him out to dinner when dp is otherwise engaged....

lalsy · 24/11/2014 14:03

oooh Cremo, thanks for that, cheered me no end Grin

bigTillyMint · 24/11/2014 14:55

Cremo, it sounds greatEnvy Apart from being past my bedtime, of courseGrin

Being teachers, we don't sign off with our qualifications. I have to say that all but one person that we have had to contact at the DC's school have been very polite and helpful.

Rose, LOL re DD, though I think she might enjoy boxing!

wordassociationfootball · 24/11/2014 16:36

Helloooo! Just passing through.

Lalsy I loved the excited probe landing scientist a couple of pages back.

Regards to all.

BD - I too need to atone for shouting at DS this morning. As usual we left the house too late this morning, so I made him rush all the way to school. Then his scooter hit a pothole and he went flying, and broke his little bell. I wasn't particularly sympathetic, especially when he refused to get on his scooter again so we had to trot, we me carrying the bloody thing. We got there just as his class was going in, so I yelled "COME ON!! I CANNOT BE LATE." At which point he cried and told me to stop shouting.

If he's late, we have to walk all round the streets to the school office and sign in there, making me miss my train and thus be late for college. But that is my fault for not getting my shit together in the mornings, not his.

I have bought him a new bell for his scooter in atonement. From a very (s)wanky bike shop specialising in customising fixies, with all manner of esoteric bits of metal hanging up on walls. I was not greeted warmly.

hattymattie · 24/11/2014 16:59

I am sniggering at posh bike shop/scooter bell story plus Cremo's night out. Well done for surviving Crem and ensuring that I will never set foot in a nightclub againGrin.

bigTillyMint · 24/11/2014 16:59

WAF, how lovely for you to pass by! Will you be around on 5th Dec for the winter version of the last time we met up?!

Don't worry Herbs, we've all been there. Just make sure you leave the house 5mins earlier from now on!

I have critically reflected upon my morning practice, and will experiment with putting the theory 'get your shit together and don't look at Facebook in the mornings' into practice tomorrow. I can feel a thesis coming on.

lalsy · 24/11/2014 17:49

Hello Word, glad you liked happy probe scientist clip - up there with Michael Gove falling over clip I think.

Herbs, yep done that too, although I never mastered carrying scooters without ripping my ankles to shreds.

Our assignment is all about critical reflection. Load of old arse that it is.

cremolafoam · 24/11/2014 19:05

Herbs I am going to use that phrase as part of my (s)wanky PowerPoint presentation tomorrow .
It is choc full of drivel
" innate nature of "
"Challenges of social media use in the hospitality industry"

Utter utter crap. And delivered in a controlled professional manner.
Ha- yeh cos that's meGrin

Set hours Rudy , instead of having to be available 24/7/365 according to
"Operational need"
At the moment I only know a month in advance where I'll be.

Blackduck · 24/11/2014 19:38

Cremona - fingers crossed for tomorrow

cremolafoam · 24/11/2014 19:46

Thank you thank you.
Am trying to cut down my guff. It's got to be 10 minutes. I am too garrulous clearly. It's currently 14.5 mins because of rambling...
BD how are you? Was thinking about you today. Thanks

Blackduck · 24/11/2014 19:54

Hi Cremo - a bit better thanks as crossed the audit off my list, but another 'to do' has just pinged in my inbox.....
I am not being fair to me or D's or dp at the moment and I need to get a grip on that.

bigTillyMint · 24/11/2014 19:59

Good Luck Cremo!

Load of old arse, HerbsGrin

One of my fingers has gone purple on one side. Thankfully I am going to the doctors tomorrow (only had to wait three III weeks for the appointment) - it will be on my list of things to discuss.

herbaceous · 24/11/2014 20:09

I kind of get that perhaps it could possibly sometimes be useful to have a structured way of thinking 'ooh, that went well, I'll do it again', or similar. And that someone could possibly write a textbook on it, if they were desperate. But you should see the number of shelves groaning under the weight of books, critically reflecting on reflective practice. It's a vicious circle.

herbaceous · 24/11/2014 20:22

BTW, who watched that new three-parter last night, Remember Me, with National Treasure Michael Palin? It's a ghost story, and 'proper shat me up', as I believe the vernacular has it. I'm on my own in the house at the moment, and keep hearing noises...
