I am the nosiest woman In S London and am often found checking out exes on Facebook. I did a bit of checking them out on linked in then realised to my horror that linked in emails you when people have viewed your profile. Oops. I am still pals with a couple but generally not.

Right, to work. I am going to try to prepare my session for tomorrow in case M rallies. If I dont, then he will be fine no doubt and I will have a session with nothing to say.....

hattymattie · 08/12/2014 13:04

Monty - My DD2 tells me off for looking people up on FB - apparently this is "FB stalking" so I have to do it secretly when she's not aboutBlush.

DD1 is off to the Netherlands on Thursday for a long weekend and he has been over to the UK to visit but they have both agreed to take it down a notch and just stay really good friends. I think they are sensible as they are both in different countries (and it has nothing to do with hunky German boy who turned up at uni for a term).Confused

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 13:52

I have an interview to do some more lecturing. Ahem. Always feel fraud lecturing, dammit, am Not Expert in Meeja.

QueenQueenie · 08/12/2014 14:02

Too modest MI... They clearly think you are more than able.. and depending on the details it's potentially regular income innit, with added bonus of not being crushed to death between the rock and hard place that CDiff / designer represent. Win Win!

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 15:05

Ah, it's actually because I've lectured there before ages ago, and they're casting around for people, I suspect but yes, it is a potentially regular if pittance income. Is quite a way from here (a university on the other side of London from mine) so I've said I could do one of the morning slots every week.

Rosebag · 08/12/2014 15:35

Ooh is the uni in my neck of the woods? MI?

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 16:31

It is indeed! Fancy a coffee next Tuesday?

herbaceous · 08/12/2014 17:06

Oooooh, perhaps I could add it to my list of 'potential employers if we have any public sector left by the time I graduate'.

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 17:27

Definitely. if they'll take me they'll take anyone.

Rosebag · 08/12/2014 17:30

Grin MI can you PM me the locations and approx time? Tues 16th is looking good for a coffee….

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 17:42

AIBU to suggest to dear friends they come over on Boxing day for Really Nice Sausages (she wants to know what to get from her butcher) and mash and trifle? DD2 likes the idea too. DD1 quite happy with veggie sausages. We could have onion gravy. And mash with lots of butter (the way DP doesn't make it - he just bashes the potatoes around a bit) and maybe some red cabbage with apples? Sounds nice to me.

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 17:50

Or better still, bung carrots and (frozen) chestnuts and (yep, even) sprouts in the oven, effortlessly.

I am possibly the world's laziest yet greediest person.

NUFC69 · 08/12/2014 17:52

Smile MI. Sounds good to me. As QQ says it would be a steady income stream.

NUFC69 · 08/12/2014 17:54

The food also sounds good, MI.

Rosebag · 08/12/2014 18:36

Love bangers, mash and gravy...

cremolafoam · 08/12/2014 19:27

MI that sounds perfect, and a good relaxed antidote to Christmas Day .
I have had a total panic about presents this year. Is it too late for Amazon?
I can't understand why I'm so so disorganised. Not a light or wreath up either. I'm usually completely on it.
ShockShockShock
Dd not back until 21st- still two weeks away. She still has a few exams . BooSad

bigTillyMint · 08/12/2014 19:45

NYC experts, I have found return flights for £1,280 and double room at the Tryp by Wyndham Times Square (is that your one Rudy?) for £875 which is a couple of hundred cheaper than the all-in deals - do you think I should go for it, or bide my time and keep looking?!

beachyhead · 08/12/2014 19:47

Don't worry Crem, I'm the same... I've bought some stuff but I don't really know what stuff and who it's going to? Plus dh just keeps nagging me about what I want (and I don't really know what I want!) could you share what's on the Crepeys Christmas lists this year, otherwise I'll just get another wooden chopping board Smile

Dinner was good, quite merry and much enhanced by Lidl champagne at £9 a bottle and a very nice red wine from there too. Dh is a convert.

Sunday was spent recovering and watching ds play rugby where ddog disgraced himself by lifting his leg on my friend (as she sat in her little camping chair watching! Blush She did have outdoor boots on, so we washed her down and apologised. God knows how you train a dog not to lift his leg on your friend. I shall raise it at the next class.....

MI, the food sounds great!

Cremo, good to see you are still with usSmile Amazon is your friendWink - not too late! I just ordered some presents on behalf of DS who hasn't got a bank account with a card yet!

So the celeb at the do we went to today was Michelle Collins (Ian Beale's wife, now in Corrie, apparently!) She is 52 and looks amazing - I am totally in awe!

bigTillyMint · 08/12/2014 19:54

Beachy, I told the DC I wanted a new umbrella and the new Paloma Faith CD. DH will be giving me money.
ShockGrin at your doggie!

NUFC69 · 08/12/2014 20:09

Oh dear, Beachy, that doesn't sound good. I have never had a dog so can't suggest anything, I am afraid.

BTM, are the flights for just two of you? DH and I think they sound expensive. Our flights to San Francisco and back from Phoenix in September cost £1,400 and it's a darn sight further. However we always travel either via Amsterdam or Paris - we won't touch Heathrow with a barge pole. DH has just checked flights out of Newcastle: we could go on Wednesday, come back on Sunday for £360 each! Not what you wanted to hear. I am now toying idly with the idea of going - can't, of course, but I like the idea.

motherinferior · 08/12/2014 20:10

I want pricey l'Occitane shower stuff, I do actually like scented candles and I quite fancy a bottle of the ginger liqueur they do at the South Indian Peckham restaurant. Beyond that my mind is, to quote Clarice Bean, a blanket.

I don't actually like Chrismas dinner and am making strenuous efforts to ensure we don't have it.

cremolafoam · 08/12/2014 20:15

Rofl @ naughty dog Beachy.
My v small list features feather cushion inners and a selection of Gutterman threads. ( my mother will appreciate my need for these)

bigTillyMint · 08/12/2014 20:18

Yes NU, for two of us. It will be October half term - does that make it worse?! I'm looking at Sun 25th early to Thurs 29th Oct very late, from Heathrow. Come - you could show us round!

MI, I have never tried the ginger liqueur there!
