BTM - these are the ones for the second pillow, and I also have dark green, rust coloured, bright pink, pink and white striped and blue "underneath" pillow cases that go better with the various duvet sets...

Yes please, NU to the recipe. I am making salted caramel brownies. Will let you know how they turn out...

Stropperella · 22/11/2014 14:01

Oooh, the peer-mentoring idea is an excellent one, MrsS.
In case anyone is interested, I've just got the details from dd about the science revision site she made very heavy use of last year. Here

Mmmm to virtual chocolate brownies.

I think a modicum of tutoring is as good a means to an end as any - my dc had a little bit when younger and for both it gave them a confidence boost because there was time and space to nail something - even just a little thing. Life is easier if you can say Ha, take that, ratios and fractions, you don't scare me now! But there are plenty of other ways to this end too I think.

I agree NU - I think sometimes the teenage girls that appear most confident are not. I did a little bit of training to become a mentor for my volunteering and this was one of the first things they stressed - people who seem over-confident and brash may be just as much in need of support as the apparently timid - they see people of all ages and backgrounds. Sorry if that seems obvious, it had never struck me quite like that before.

Crem, good luck with the prep and Herbs, I hope you are having a restful weekend.

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2014 15:28

Rudy, sorry you are feeling ill - "rest-up" as in my DM's favourite saying!

MrsS do you have a pillow-case buying fetish. Or your DH?! Salted caramel brownies sound lush.

I agree NU and lalsy - things are not always as they seem.

I have just had a wee snooze, DD is fast asleep in her bed. Just wondering when to wake her. She has to be up for paintballing at 7 tomorrow morning!

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 16:12

Just dropping by to say I'm not dead.
Just not on top of anything including the crepey threads. I actually feel incredibly tired and tearful. Wondering if I'm lacking in something?! Last time my B12 was low so dp fed me tonnes of fish - I guess I can eat all the sushi D's and Dp made today.

Cremo good luck with interview
Rose sorry you had to make a tough decision but sounds like the right one - hold firm
Present perfect? Like Herbs I had zero teaching on this stuff, but just know what's right when I see it.

I am just Shock at the awful things children say to each other these days (God I sound like my mother) and want to cover DS's ears most of the time.....

hattymattie · 22/11/2014 17:30

BD - I've been taking magnesium supplements for feeling like this - otherwise I attack DH for something fairly minor and he is left totally bewildered.

Rudy - hope you're feeling a little better.

We are going to settle down and watch Strictly and Atlantis with Malteesers.

Stropperella · 22/11/2014 17:41

I second Hatty on the magnesium supplements: I'm not a great one for supplements usually, but I thought would give them a whirl after checking out the signs of magnesium deficiency. I don't know whether I'm imagining it, but I think I do feel a bit better than I did, despite a rather more punishing schedule at the moment.

Thanks once again for the words of encouragement. I have emailed maestro to tell her to recognise this is a resignation and to see that she is in a room full of people, not alone, who can and should help with all the crap things I used to do. God knows what she'll say next.
Anyway I have just escaped it all for two and a half hours of work and notes at the dress run. it helps to be somewhere one is appreciated. Not that there weren't a few fireworks. The director must have stopped the run about 10 times. I don't really want to go home..

hattymattie · 22/11/2014 18:56

Oooh I've got my Secret Santa

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 19:28

Me too Hatty.... Now the stress of what to buy.... Ahhh ..... :)

bigTillyMint · 22/11/2014 19:38

BD, glad you're not deadGrin

I too, have my SS. I know I have to buy one first, but when do we have to send them off?!

Out to dinner with friends tonight. I think I might drive as I have to get DD to her friends house by 8am tomorrow and then I am out at 9am. Plus DS is out with his mates but doesn't know what his plans are...

cremolafoam · 22/11/2014 19:43

Yay I've got my SS too Xmas Smile

Only ^another three ( III ,3) hours before we can go to The nightclub.
It's not natural.

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 19:57

BTM :) thanks....

herbaceous · 22/11/2014 20:05

I have my SS! Absolutely not a scooby what I'm going to buy her, however.

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 20:07

Likewise Herbs!

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 20:09

I want to have dinner with MrsS!!!

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 20:10

To follow up - that's based on her FB photos......

herbaceous · 22/11/2014 20:20

Actually, scratch that. I've just found a roffle-worthy gift that is making me snigger.

Spent today at my sister's house, trying to sort out my brother. He's pretty intractable in his position of working for a total shishester (how on earth do you spell that) who pays him his rent AND NOTHING ELSE, but I'm hoping if we continue to lead the horse to water he will eventually drink.

Blackduck · 22/11/2014 20:25

Erm herbs I think I get that!

I will have to think about my SS ......

I want to run away to the sea and curl up and sleep for a month

Stropperella · 22/11/2014 20:26

I have my SS!

Good luck with staying awake at the glam do, Crem.

I'm trying not to panic about my assignment. I thought I would get half-way through it today, but now I'm not so sure.

herbaceous · 22/11/2014 20:27

I've got to do all of mine tomorrow. Eeeeeeeeeeep.
